此偈明何義 若汝說言 火自他照能……闇者 闇何以不自也皆覆
而實不見有如是事 若說彼火自他照者義不相應

If in your opinion fire illuminates both other things and itself, then its opposite, darkness, too, would cover both other things and itself.
This, however, is not seen. In these circumstances, your statement that fire illuminates both other things and itself is not valid.
