er vit báðir vitum,
lundr lognfara;
en ept nætr níu
þar mun Njarðar syni
Gerðr unna gamans.“ 
Skirne kvad.
41.
„Barre heder,
os begge kjendt,
en lund saa stille lun;
om nætter ni
skal Njords søn der
fange af Gerd gammen.“ 
Skirnir spoke:

„Barri there is, |

A forest fair and still;
And nine nights hence |
to the son of Njorth
Will Gerth there grant delight.“ 
Freyr kvað:
