Skírnir kvað:
41.
„Barri heitir,
er vit báðir vitum,
lundr lognfara;
en ept nætr níu
þar mun Njarðar syni
Gerðr unna gamans.“
Skirne kvad.
41.
„Barre heder,
os begge kjendt,
en lund saa stille lun;
om nætter ni
skal Njords søn der
fange af Gerd gammen.“
Skirnir spoke:
42.
„Barri there is, |
which we both know well,
A forest fair and still;
And nine nights hence |
to the son of Njorth
Will Gerth there grant delight.“
Freyr kvað:
42.
„Lǫng er nótt,
langar ro tvær,
hvé um þreyjak þrjár?
opt mér mánaðr
minni þótti
en sjá hálf hýnótt.“
Frey kvad.
42.
„Lang er natten,
lange er to,
hvor vil jeg tæres tre!
tidt mig maaned
mindre tyktes
end halv slig hugsótts nat.“

Freyr spake:
43.
„Long is one night, |
longer are two;
How then shall I bear three?
Often to me |
has a month seemed less
Than now half a night of desire.“
