وكان عظيم الملك في الدنيا كثير الرغبة فيها شديد الالحاح عليها لا يجعل رايه ولا قوته الا فيها ولا يستعد الا لها ولا يشتغل الا بها
8 Considérable était son pouvoir sur les biens de ce monde, très ardent son désir de les posséder, et intense son obstination à les poursuivre: à eux seuls il appliquait sa pensée et sa force, pour eux seuls étaient ses dispositions, en eux seuls ses occupations.
11 (იყო იგი) შეყოფილი გონებითა მე[ბატა] და საშუებელთა იმას სოპლისათა და ყოვლადვე წერ წინააღმდგომელ მიმართ განმხრწმელტა სულისათა.
8=11 He was utterly immersed in the pursuit of the pleasures and delights of this world and enslaved by his own passions, and quite unable to exercise any restraint in respect of indulgences which are so pernicious to the soul.
