Darius the King says; Parthia and Varkâna (Hyrcania) became rebellious from me. They called themselves Phraortes' (men). Vishtâspa (Hystaspes), my father, he was in Parthia. The people forsook him, (and) became rebellious. After that, Hystaspes went off with an army which was supporting him. (There is) a town, Vishpauzâtish by name, in Parthia, there he fought the battle with the Parthians. Ahuramazda bore me aid; by the favour of Ahuramazda, Hystaspes severely defeated that army, which was rebellious. 22 days of the month Viyakhna were past, then the battle was fought by them.
