LØVBORG.
Det blir ikke ved denne nat alene. Jeg véd det så sikkert. Men så er der det, at jeg gider ikke leve den slags liv heller. Ikke nu pånyt. Det er livsmodet og livstrodsen, som hun har knækket i mig.
LOVBORG.

Es bleibt nicht bei dieser Nacht allein. Das weiß ich ganz bestimmt. Und dann ist die Sache die, daß ich ein solches Leben auch nicht der Mühe werth halte. Nicht jetzt von neuem. Es ist der Lebensmuth und der Lebenstrotz, den sie in mir geknickt hat.
