car ce que chascuns desire seur toutez autres chosez il juge que ce soit li souverains biens.

For-why thilke thing that every man desireth most over alle thinges, he demeth that it be the sovereyn good;

for that that ech man thinkes aboue the rest exceed, that greatest good he thinkes.
