Note on the transliteration:
The transliteration system of the BP/TLB is based on the Unicode/UTF-8 system. However, there may be difficulties with some of the letters – particularly on PC/Windows-based systems, but not so much on the Mac. We have chosen the most accepted older and traditional systems of transliteration against, e.g, Wylie for Tibetan, since with Unicode it is possible, in Sanskrit and Tibetan, etc., to represent one sound with one letter in almost all the cases (excepting Sanskrit and Tibetan aspirated letters, and Tibetan tsa, tsha, dza). We thus do not use the Wylie system which widely employs two letters for one sound (ng, ny, sh, zh etc.).

Important:
We ask you in particular to note the use of the ’ apostrophe and not the ' representing the avagrāha in Sanskrit, and most important the ’a-chuṅ in Tibetan. On the Mac the ’ is Alt-M.

Even though he was a mūlamānāpyacārika, he committed another saṃghāvaśeṣa offence of the same sort as the antara-āpatti, namely pratyantara-āpatti, but it was not concealed.  He recognises that pratyantara-āpatti.  The saṃgha granted him a mūlamānāpya by means of illegal performance which should be contested and suspended, out of that antara-āpatti, which he recognises.  [Then] he informs the monks.  “Venerable sirs, I am one, who committed a saṃghāvaśeṣa offence of the same sort as the previous offence (pūrva-āpatti), [but] it was not concealed.  The saṃgha granted me a mūlamānāpya by means of illegal performance; it should be contested and suspended.  Even though I was a mūlamānāpyacārika, I committed a saṃghāvaśeṣa offence of the same sort as the antara-āpatti, namely pratyantara-āpatti, [but] it was not concealed.  I, that very person, recognised the pratyantara-āpatti.  The saṃgha granted me a mūlamānāpya by means of illegal performance which should be contested and suspended, out of that antara-āpatti, which I too recognise.  Venerable sirs, it is fair [to] grant me a mūlamānāpya by means of legal action; it should not be contested and suspended out of the antara-āpatti, i.e., the offence of the same sort as the previous offence (pūrva-āpatti); and grant me a mūlāpakarṣamānāpya from the pratyantara-āpatti.  The monks grant [him] a mūlamānāpya out of the antara-āpatti, i.e., the offence of the same sort as the previous offence (pūrva-āpatti) by means of legal action; it should not be contested and suspended, and [legally] grant him a mūlāpakarṣamānāpya out of the pratyantara-āpatti.  As by means of five cases of one who knows is the same as five cases of one who remembers, [and] five cases of one who forgets.
