Note on the transliteration:
The transliteration system of the BP/TLB is based on the Unicode/UTF-8 system. However, there may be difficulties with some of the letters – particularly on PC/Windows-based systems, but not so much on the Mac. We have chosen the most accepted older and traditional systems of transliteration against, e.g, Wylie for Tibetan, since with Unicode it is possible, in Sanskrit and Tibetan, etc., to represent one sound with one letter in almost all the cases (excepting Sanskrit and Tibetan aspirated letters, and Tibetan tsa, tsha, dza). We thus do not use the Wylie system which widely employs two letters for one sound (ng, ny, sh, zh etc.).
 
Important:
We ask you in particular to note the use of the ’ apostrophe and not the ' representing the avagrāha in Sanskrit, and most important the ’a-chuṅ in Tibetan. On the Mac the ’ is Alt-M.

(8)佛在室羅伐城給孤獨園。如世尊說。(9)常以月八日十五日。大眾同集。共聽經法。(10)便至夜半。有老苾芻然明而臥。(11)夢見故二遂共交通。諂言外聞遂生譏謗。(12)因制不應與未近圓人同一室宿。亦復不得然明而臥。(13)日月光者無犯。又因尊者羅怙羅及病苾芻。(14)開經二夜至第三夜。令未近圓人出宿。(15)出宿之時不應驅遣。使出寺外及離簷前。(16)但可離其房門勢分。若恐惡苾芻為破戒緣者。至第三夜。(17)宜令求寂向善友房。此若無者。(18)應共驅出罪惡苾芻。或自將求寂餘處而臥。(19)若自安居已不得往餘處者。應生心念為防護故。(20)於三月中與求寂同宿者無犯。為於行路至出宿時。(21)有虎豹等恐驚怖者。至第三夜。當須警覺。(22)若其不能通夜覺者。極至明相出時。必不應睡。(23)若猶困乏者聽睡無犯。難時聽許者無難。(24)不應行路有驚恐。應遣在前自居其後。(25)若行困極。當與小食。時鄔波難陀有二求寂。(26)一名利刺。二名長大。過二夜共宿。并與俗人同處。(27)由眠臥事不寂靜煩惱。制斯學處。(28)若復苾芻與未近圓人同室宿過二夜者。(29)波逸底迦。(592a1)言未近圓人者。除苾芻苾芻尼諸餘人類。(2)咸犯斯學。如是應知。至第三夜共女宿時。(3)便犯兩墮。過二夜者。謂經二夜至第三夜。(4)始從初臥即得惡作。明相出時。便得墮罪。言同室者。(5)有四種室。一總覆總障。(6)如諸房舍及客堂樓觀等。上總遍覆四壁皆遮。二總覆多障。(7)於其四壁少安窗戶。三多覆總障。(8)即四面舍於四邊安壁中間。豎柱四簷內入。(9)或低或平四多覆多障。謂三面舍。此於四面舍無其一邊。(10)若半覆半障。或多覆少障。或簷際等。(11)並皆無犯。若過二夜淨宿之時。與扇侘半擇迦等。(12)經明相者。得惡作罪。(13)於未近圓作未圓想等六句。四犯二非犯。若崖坎下。(14)或空樹中者無犯。若與授學人同室者。亦應淨宿。(15)此授學人。與未近圓人亦淨其宿。凡眠臥時。(16)若有難緣無餘床席。(17)應疊嗢呾羅僧伽為四重而臥其上。以僧伽胝疊安頭下。(18)或用覆身安呾婆娑。以充內服。凡臥息時右脅著床。(19)兩足重壘。身不動搖。作光明想。(20)安住正念情無嬈惱。衣服不亂。於睡知量。念當早起。(21)初夜後夜恒修善品。此是沙門眠息之法。(22)若無病苦晝不應臥。若眠息時。有人相惱者。(23)應向餘處。
