Note on the transliteration:
The transliteration system of the BP/TLB is based on the Unicode/UTF-8 system. However, there may be difficulties with some of the letters – particularly on PC/Windows-based systems, but not so much on the Mac. We have chosen the most accepted older and traditional systems of transliteration against, e.g, Wylie for Tibetan, since with Unicode it is possible, in Sanskrit and Tibetan, etc., to represent one sound with one letter in almost all the cases (excepting Sanskrit and Tibetan aspirated letters, and Tibetan tsa, tsha, dza). We thus do not use the Wylie system which widely employs two letters for one sound (ng, ny, sh, zh etc.).
 
Important:
We ask you in particular to note the use of the ’ apostrophe and not the ' representing the avagrāha in Sanskrit, and most important the ’a-chuṅ in Tibetan. On the Mac the ’ is Alt-M.

(14)飲酒學處第七十九
(15)佛在室羅伐城給孤獨園。(16)時莎揭多苾芻於俗人家。得非時漿和酒而飲。(17)遂便大醉委臥街衢。由受請事。譏嫌煩惱。制斯學處。(18)若復苾芻飲諸酒者。波逸底迦。(19)酒者若以飯麴。或用米粉烝熟釀作。(20)復有雜酒。謂根皮葉及以花果。少安米麴醞釀成酒。(21)飲者謂吞咽也。凡作酒色酒香酒味。(22)或闕一闕二而飲咽者。能令人醉。皆得墮罪。(23)若不醉人飲得惡作。若體非酒而有酒色飲之無犯。(24)若用器飲若手掬飲。乃至酒糟。咸得墮罪。(25)若噉麴若噉花果。能令人醉。並得惡作。(26)境想六句後二無犯。有說非酒酒想亦得墮罪。(27)如佛言曰。汝諸苾芻依我為師而出家者。(28)不應飲酒。不與他不貯畜。(29)乃至不以茅端渧酒置於口中。不犯者。若酒被煎煮飲不醉人。(602b1)若口有病醫令含酒。若酒塗身此皆無犯。(2)若苾芻先是耽酒人。不得酒時。(3)遂便瘦弱者取造酒物麴及樹皮。并諸香藥擣簁為末。布帛裹之。(4)以杖橫繫。懸於新熟酒瓮之內。勿令霑酒。(5)經一二宿。以水和攪。時與非時飲皆無犯。(6)又無犯者酒變成醋。飲不醉人。(7)澄清見面水解為淨。以羅濾之。同非時漿。隨意應飲。
