Note on the transliteration:

The transliteration system of the BP/TLB is based on the Unicode/UTF-8 system. However, there may be difficulties with some of the letters – particularly on PC/Windows-based systems, but not so much on the Mac. We have chosen the most accepted older and traditional systems of transliteration against, e.g, Wylie for Tibetan, since with Unicode it is possible, in Sanskrit and Tibetan, etc., to represent one sound with one letter in almost all the cases (excepting Sanskrit and Tibetan aspirated letters, and Tibetan tsa, tsha, dza). We thus do not use the Wylie system which widely employs two letters for one sound (ng, ny, sh, zh etc.).

Important:

We ask you in particular to note the use of the ’ apostrophe and not the ' representing the avagrāha in Sanskrit, and most important the ’a-chuṅ in Tibetan. On the Mac the ’ is Alt-M.

(10)佛在室羅伐城給孤獨園。(11)六眾苾芻於半月說戒經時。不用心聽。作如是說。(12)我今始知是法是善逝說。由輕學處事慢法煩惱。(13)制斯學處。(14)若復苾芻半月半月說戒經時。作如是語。(15)具壽。我今始知是法戒經中說。(16)諸苾芻知是苾芻。若二若三同作長淨。況復過此。應語彼言。(17)具壽。非不知故得免其罪。汝所犯罪。(18)應如法說悔。當勸喻言。具壽。此法希奇難可逢遇。(19)汝說戒時不恭敬不住心。不慇重不作意。(20)不一想不攝耳。不策念而聽法者。波逸底迦。(21)不恭敬者。是總標句。不住心等是別釋句。(22)顯六過失。謂無信心失。無敬心失。無樂欲失。(23)緣外境失。心惛沈失。生勞倦失。(24)如其次第而配屬之。若苾芻已曾再三聞說戒經。(25)於長淨時作不知語。若由煩惱。或由忘念。(26)若睡眠若亂意。隨一一戒不聽聞者。皆得墮罪。(27)若聞苾芻尼不共學處。作如是語。得惡作罪。(28)若共學處便得本罪。若老耄無所識知。(29)依實說者無犯。長淨之時應令純熟。善誦戒經者。(603b1)為眾誦之。先鳴健稚時。(2)諸苾芻應自憶罪如法說悔。然後赴集。
