Note on the transliteration:
The transliteration system of the BP/TLB is based on the Unicode/UTF-8 system. However, there may be difficulties with some of the letters – particularly on PC/Windows-based systems, but not so much on the Mac. We have chosen the most accepted older and traditional systems of transliteration against, e.g, Wylie for Tibetan, since with Unicode it is possible, in Sanskrit and Tibetan, etc., to represent one sound with one letter in almost all the cases (excepting Sanskrit and Tibetan aspirated letters, and Tibetan tsa, tsha, dza). We thus do not use the Wylie system which widely employs two letters for one sound (ng, ny, sh, zh etc.).
 
Important:
We ask you in particular to note the use of the ’ apostrophe and not the ' representing the avagrāha in Sanskrit, and most important the ’a-chuṅ in Tibetan. On the Mac the ’ is Alt-M.

tena khalu samayena vaiśālī tribhiḥ skandhaiḥ prativasati |  prathame skandhe sapta kūṭāgārasahasrāṇi suvarṇamayair niryūhair  madhyame skandhe caturdaśa rūpyamayair niryūhair  adharime skandhe ekaviṃśatis tāmramayair niryūhais  teṣu yathāyogaṃ manuṣyāḥ prativasanti | uttamā madhyamā adhamā |  vaiśālyāṃ gaṇena kriyākārā vyavasthāpitāḥ |  yā prathame (7) skandhe dārikā jāyate sā prathama eva skandhe dīyate na madhyame nādharime |  yā madhyame sā prathame skandhe dīyate madhyame vā nādharime |  yādharime sā triṣv api skandheṣu dīyate |  kanyāyā anirvāhaḥ nānyatra dīyate iti |  vaiśālīstrīratnaṃ na kasyacid dīyate | gaṇasāmānyaṃ1 paribhojyam eva |

khaṇḍasya pradhānapuruṣa iti kṛtvā prathame skandhe gṛhaṃ dattam | tatra prativastum ārabdhaḥ | 
dum bu ni skyes bu dam pa yin no źes te ris daṅ bo ma baṅ pa byin nas | de na gnas par brtsams pa las 
yadā gaṇaḥ saṃnipatati tadāsāv āhūyamāno ’pi na saṃnipatati | sa vaiśālakair ucyate | khaṇḍa kasmāt tvaṃ na saṃnipatasīti | 
gaṅ gi tshe tshogs ’dus pa de’i tshe de bos kyaṅ ’dur ma btub nas | de la yaṅs pa can gyi litstsha bī rnams kyis smras pa | dum bu khyod ci’i phyir mi ’du | 
sa kathayati | saṃnipatitād eva ayam ādīnavaḥ prādurbhūto nāhaṃ saṃnipatāmīti | 
(5) des smras pa | ’dug kho na las bdag la ñes dmigs byuṅ bas bdag mi ’du’o || 
vaiśālakāḥ kathayanti | khaṇḍa saṃnipāta ko ’tra ādīnavo bhaviṣyatīti | sa saṃnipatitum ārabdhaḥ | mataṃ nānuprayacchati | 
yaṅs ba can pa rnams kyis smras pa | dum bu ’dus śig | ’dir ñes dmigs ci źig ’byuṅ des ’du bar brtsams nas blo gros ma byin no || 
te kathayanti | khaṇḍa matam anuprayaccheti | 
de rnams kyis smras pa | dum bu blo gros byin (6) cig | 
sa kathayati | matam api nānuprayacchāmi yasmān matād eva me ādīnavāḥ prādurbhūtā iti | 
des smras pa | gaṅ gi phyir blo gros kho nas bdag la nes dmigs byuṅ bsan blo gros ni mi sbyin no || 
te kathayanti | anuprayaccha matam | ko ’trādīnavo bhaviṣyatīti | 
de rnams kyis smras pa | blo gros byin cig ’dir ñes dmigs ci źig ’byuṅ | 
sa samāgame saṃnipatati mataṃ cānuprayacchati | 
de tshogs daṅ lhan cig ’dun nas blo gros kyaṅ byin no || 
pūrvaṃ vaiśālakā licchavayo yasya kasyacil lekham anupreṣayanti sakarkaśam anupreṣayanti | 
sṅon yaṅs pa can gyi li tstsha bī (7) rnams gaṅ su la yaṅ ruṅ yi ge sbriṅ bar byed na rtsub po daṅ bcas par yi ge spriṅ bar byed do || 
yadā tu khaṇḍo mataṃ dātum ārabdhas tadā sānunayaṃ likhanti | (8) yeṣāṃ sānunayo (241r1) lekho nīto bhavati | te parasparaṃ saṃjalpaṃ kurvanti | 
gaṅ gi tshe dum bus blo gros byin pa de’i tshe ’jam po daṅ bcas par yi ge spriṅ bar byed do || gaṅ dag la ’jam po dag bcas bar yi ge ’oṅs par gyur bde rnams phan tshun du gros byas pa | 
bhavantaḥ ko yogo yena vaiśālako gaṇaḥ pūrvaṃ sakarkaśaṃ likhati idānīṃ tu sānunayam iti | 
(ga52b1) śes ldan dag gaṅ gis na yaṅs ba can gyi tshogs sṅon rtsub pa dag bcas par spriṅ bar byed pa las | de ’jam po daṅ bcas par gyur ba la rgyu ci źig yod | 
apare kathayanti | asti viśeṣaḥ | videharājasya khaṇḍo nāmāgrāmātya ihāgatas tasya matenānuvyavaharanti yenādhunā sānunayaṃ likhantīti | 
gźan dag gis smras pa | khyad par yod de lus ’phags kyi rgyal po’i mchog dum bu der ’oṅs nas | (2) de dag de’i blo gros bźin byed de | de sa na da ltar ’jam po daṅ bcas par sbriṅ bar byed do ||
