Note on the transliteration:
The transliteration system of the BP/TLB is based on the Unicode/UTF-8 system. However, there may be difficulties with some of the letters – particularly on PC/Windows-based systems, but not so much on the Mac. We have chosen the most accepted older and traditional systems of transliteration against, e.g, Wylie for Tibetan, since with Unicode it is possible, in Sanskrit and Tibetan, etc., to represent one sound with one letter in almost all the cases (excepting Sanskrit and Tibetan aspirated letters, and Tibetan tsa, tsha, dza). We thus do not use the Wylie system which widely employs two letters for one sound (ng, ny, sh, zh etc.).
 
Important:
We ask you in particular to note the use of the ’ apostrophe and not the ' representing the avagrāha in Sanskrit, and most important the ’a-chuṅ in Tibetan. On the Mac the ’ is Alt-M.

tadyathāpi nāma kāśyapa sadevako loko kācamaṇikasya parikarma kuryāt* na jātu sa kācamaṇiko vaiḍūryamaṇiratno bhaviṣyati · evam eva kāśyapa sarvaśīlaśikṣādhutaguṇasamādhisamanvāgato ’pi śrāvako na jātu sabodhimaṇḍe niṣadyānuttarāsamyaksaṃbodhim abhisaṃbotsyate · tatredam ucyate 27
yathāpi loko parikarma kuryās sadevakaḥ kācamaṇisyaśuddhaye ·
na kācavaiḍūrya kadāci bheṣyate anyādṛśī tasya sadeva jātiḥ
evaṃ hi śīlāśrrutaddhyānayukto yaḥ śrāvaka sarvaguṇānvito ’pi ·
na bodhimaṇḍasthita māra jitvā bodhiṃ spṛśitvā sugato bhaviṣyati 
譬如天上天下共治一水精。會不能得摩尼珠也。一切自守持戒禪三昧。智黠羅漢雖眾。不能坐佛樹下。不能作佛也。 
譬如迦葉一切天人不能以水精為摩尼真珠。聲聞如是成就一切戒清淨行。不能坐佛樹下成於無上正真之道。 
譬如諸天及人。一切世間善治偽珠。不能令成琉璃寶珠。求聲聞人亦復如是。一切持戒成就禪定。終不能得坐於道場成無上道。 
佛告迦葉。譬如假瑠璃珠於彼天人世間終無利用。若真瑠璃珠摩尼寶於其世間有大利用。迦葉如是。若彼聲聞具足戒學。具一切頭陀行三摩地門。終不能得坐菩提道場成阿耨多羅三藐三菩提。我今於此而說頌曰。
譬如假瑠璃 見彼體清淨
於天人世間 為事無利用
若彼真瑠璃 及彼摩尼寶
體性有其殊 為事具大用
如是彼聲聞 雖具頭陀行
持戒及多聞 一切三摩地
不能降四魔 而坐菩提座
得成於善逝 非如菩薩故

vaiḍūryaratne parikarma nīyaṃte karṣāpaṇānāṃ ca bahu āyu bhoti ·
buddhaurasānāṃ parikarmaṇaṃ tathā āyo bahūnāṃ śrāvakānāṃ tath’ eva · 30 
 
譬如得摩尼真珠者。獲餘無量百千財寶。菩薩如是出於世者。則有無量聲聞緣覺現於世間。 
迦葉。譬如治琉璃珠。能出百千無量珍寶。如是教化成就菩薩。能出百千無量聲聞辟支佛寶。 
佛告迦葉。譬如真瑠璃摩尼寶作事用時價直百千迦哩沙波拏。迦葉。如是若彼菩薩所植眾德。作事用時多彼聲聞辟支佛百千迦哩沙波拏之數。我今於此而說頌曰。
譬如真瑠璃 及彼摩尼寶
作彼事用時 價直百千數
迦哩沙波拏 佛子亦如是
植眾德本行 事用利眾生
多彼聲聞人 及彼辟支佛
迦哩沙波拏 其數亦如是

atha khalu bhagavān punar evāyuṣmaṃtaṃ mahākāśyapam āmaṃtrayati sma · yasmiṃ kāśyapa deśe uṣṭradhūmaka kṛṣṇaśira uttānaśāyī bhavati sa deśa sopadravaḥ sopakleśa sopāyāso bhavati · sacet puna kāśyapa yasmiṃ deśe bodhisatvo bhavati · sa deśa nirupadrava nirupakleśa nirupāyāso bhavati · tasmāt tarhi kāśyapa satvārthodyuktena bodhisatvena bhavitavyaṃ tena sarvakuśalamūlāni sarvasatvānām utsraṣṭavyaṃ · sarvaṃ ca kuśalamūla samyak samudānayitavyaṃ · yac ca jñānabheṣajyaṃ paryeṣate tena caturdiśaṃ gatvā sarvasatvānāṃ bhūtacikitsā kartavyā : bhūtacikitsāyāc ca satvā cikitsitavyāḥ 
爾時佛語摩訶迦葉菩薩。學用十方人故菩薩作功德。用十方人故菩薩作功德。不自貢高。菩薩常當教十方人愈其病。 
於是世尊。告尊者大迦葉曰。菩薩為一切眾生。求修諸善根具眾智藥。往至四方隨病所應如實治之。 
爾時世尊復告大迦葉。菩薩常應求利眾生。又正修習一切所有福德善根。等心施與一切眾生。所得智藥遍到十方。療治眾生皆令畢竟。 
爾時世尊。復次說言。尊者大迦葉。所有國土孛星現時頭黑偃寐。令彼國土災難競起得於苦惱。迦葉。若彼國土如有菩薩。是諸災難速得消除無復苦惱。是故迦葉。菩薩之行。廣集一切善根。為利眾生故。又彼菩薩。所有智藥流通四方。醫彼一切眾生煩惱等病。真實不虛。

tatra kāśyapa : katamā bhūtacikitsā : yad uta rāgasya aśubhā cikitsā · dveṣasya maitrī cikitsā : mohasya pratītyasamutpādapratyavekṣaṇā cikitsā : sarvadṛṣṭīgatānāṃ śunyatā cikitsā : sarvakalpavikalpaparikalpāraṃbhaṇavitarkamanasīkārāṇām ānimitta cikitsā : sarvakāmadhāturūpadhātvārūpyadhātuprahāṇāyām apraṇihita cikitsā : sarva viparyāsānā catvāro ’viparyāsa cikitsā : anitye nityasaṃjñāyāḥ anityāḥ sarvasaṃskārā iti cikitsā : duḥkhe sukhasaṃjñāyā duḥkhā sarvasaṃskārā iti cikitsā : anātmīye ātmīyasaṃjñāyā anātmāna sarvadharmā iti cikitsā : aśubhe śubhasaṃjñāyāḥ śāṃtaṃ nirvāṇam iti cikitsā : 
何等為愈病。婬者以觀為藥。瞋恚者以等心為藥。癡者以十二因緣為藥。疑不信者以空為藥。欲處色處無色處。若欲覺此者。以無相為藥。是我所非我所。愛欲所念。以無願為藥。四顛倒各自有藥。何等為各自有藥。一者有常以無常為藥。二者有樂以苦為藥。三者有言是我所以非我所為藥。四者有身以觀為藥。 
迦葉。云何為如實治。謂以惡露不淨治欲。慈心治恚。緣起治癡。空治一切見。無想治一切四相。無願治一切欲界色無色界。四非顛倒治四顛倒一切行。無常治非常有常想一切行。苦治苦有樂想。無我治無我有我想。不淨想治不淨有淨想。 
云何名為畢竟智藥。謂不淨觀治於貪婬。以慈心觀治於瞋恚。以因緣觀治於愚癡。以行空觀治諸妄見。以無相觀治諸憶想分別緣念。以無願觀治於一切出三界願。以四顛倒治一切倒。以諸有為皆悉無常。治無常中計常顛倒。以有為苦治諸苦中計樂顛倒。以無我法治無我中計我顛倒。以涅槃寂治不淨中計淨顛倒。 
迦葉白言。以何等藥醫何等病。迦葉。眾生所有貪瞋癡病皆自緣生。以無緣慈觀彼一切惑業相。有理無本自無生今亦無相。欲界色界及無色界寂滅亦然。又滅一切顛倒。何等顛倒。即四顛倒。一者為彼有情於彼無常而計常故。令想一切皆是無常。二者於其苦處而計為樂。令想一切皆是其苦。三者無我計我。令想一切法皆無我故。四者不淨計淨。令想一切皆非淨故。唯此涅槃具彼四德。

catvārī smṛtyupasthānāni kāye vedanā cittadharmasaṃniśritānāṃ cikitsā : kāye kāyānupaśyī viharati na ca kāye kāyānupaśyanāyām ātmyadṛṣṭyāṃ patati · vedanāyāṃ vedanānupaśyī viharati na ca vedanānupaśyanāyā ātmadṛṣṭīgate{na} patati · citte cittānupaśyī viharati na ca cittānupaśyanāyāṃ jīvadṛṣṭīye patati · dharme dharmānupaśyī viharati na ca dharmānupaśyanāyāṃ pudgaladṛṣṭīye patati · catvāri samyakprahāṇāni sarvākuśaladharmaprahāṇāya cikitsā · sarvakuśaladharmapāripūryai{ḥ} saṃvartaṃte · catvāro-d-ṛddhipādāḥ kāyacittapiṇḍagrrāhotsargāya saṃvartate· cikitsā : paṃcendriyāṇi paṃca balāni aśrrāddhyakausidyamuṣitasmṛticittavikṣepaasamprajanyatāduṣprajñatācikitsā : sapta bodhyaṃgāni dharmasamūhājñānasya cikitsā : āryāṣṭāṃgo mārga dauṣprajñasarvaparapravādināṃ kumārgapratipannānāṃ cikitsā : iyam ucyate kāśyapa bhūtacikitsā : tatra kāśyapa bodhisatvena yogaḥ karaṇīyaḥ 
四者有身以觀為藥。四意止以身心為念。是為藥。四意斷一切惡悉斷。是為藥。四神足念合會成身以空棄為藥。五根五力不信懈怠念功德為藥。七覺意入法黠是為藥。外道及不信以八道為藥。是為各各分別藥。 
四意止者。治計著身痛心法身。身觀者不起觀身我見痛。痛觀者不起觀痛我見心。心觀者不起觀心我見法。法觀者不起觀法我見。四意斷者。悉斷一切不善之法。習一切善法。四神足者。捨身心真想。五根五力治不信懈怠亂念無智。七覺者治諸法無智。聖八道者此慧所治一切邪道。是謂迦葉。隨病所應如實治之。如此迦葉。菩薩當作是學。 
以四念處治諸依倚身受心法。行者觀身順身相觀不墮我見。順受相觀不墮我見。順心相觀不墮我見。順法相觀不墮我見。是四念處能厭一切身受心法開涅槃門。以四正勤能斷已生諸不善法。及不起未生諸不善法。未生善法悉能令生。已生善法能令增長。取要言之。能斷一切諸不善法。成就一切諸善之法。以四如意足治身心重。壞身一相令得如意自在神通。以五根治無信懈怠失念亂心無慧眾生。以五力障諸煩惱力。以七覺分治諸法中疑悔錯謬。以八正道治墮邪道一切眾生。迦葉。是為菩薩畢竟智藥。菩薩常應勤修習行。 
又復施設四念處。令彼有情觀身無其所有。能破我見。觀受無受所得。破彼我見。觀心無心可得。亦除我見執故。觀法無法可得。破彼法我執故。以四正斷於修斷事。修善勤修。斷惡勤斷以四神足成就通力。以五根五力。治彼不信懈怠失念散亂癡等。以七覺支治一切愚癡。以八聖道。治彼一切無知八邪等過。迦葉。此說名為真實醫法。

yāvaṃta kāśyapa jaṃbudvīpe vaidyā vā vaidyāṃtevāsino vā sarveṣāṃ teṣāṃ jīvako vaidyarājā agrro-m-ākhyāyate · yāvaṃtaḥ kāśyapa trisāhasramahāsāhasrāyāṃ lokadhātau satvāḥ te sarve jīvakavaidyarājāsadṛśā bhaveyuḥ te sarve paripṛccheran* dṛṣṭikaukṛtyapratiṣṭhitasya prapatitasya kiṃ bhaiṣajyam iti · te na samarthā na ca śaknoti tam artha ākhyātuṃ vā nirdeṣṭuṃ vā jñānavijñātā vā · tatra kāśyapa bodhisatvenaivam upaparīkṣitavya na mayā lokikabhaṣajyasaṃtuṣṭir veditavyā · lokottara mayā jñānabhaiṣajyaṃ paryeṣṭitavyaṃ sarvakuśalamūlaṃ ca samyaksamudānayitavyam*{m} ity evaṃ copaparīkṣitavyaḥ yac ca jñānabhaiṣajyaṃ samudānayitvā tena caturdiśaṃ gatvā sarvasatvānāṃ bhūtacikitsā kartavyāḥ bhūtacikitsayā ca satvāni cikitsitavyāḥ 
佛語迦葉。若閻浮利。若醫若醫弟子者。或醫王最尊三千國土滿其中者。或醫王滿其中。雖有乃爾所醫王。不能愈外道及不信者。不知當持何等法藥愈也。菩薩作是念。不持世間藥愈人病也。當持佛法藥愈人病。 
復次迦葉。假令三千大千國土諸有識者。悉如耆域醫王。有人問之。以何方藥治彼病者。終無能答。唯有菩薩能悉答之。是故迦葉。菩薩當作是念我不應求世間之藥。當求出世間藥修一切善根。是眾智藥。往至四方。隨眾生病如實治之。 
又大迦葉。閻浮提內諸醫師中。耆域醫王最為第一。假令三千大千世界所有眾生皆如耆域。若有人問心中結使煩惱邪見疑悔病藥尚不能答。何況能治。菩薩於中應作是念。我終不以世藥為足。我當求習出世智藥。亦修一切善根福德。如是菩薩。得智藥已遍到十方。畢竟療治一切眾生。 
迦葉。此說名為真實醫法。迦葉觀此菩薩。於閻浮提內。醫病人中最為第一。迦葉。所有三千大千世界眾生。為護自命。見彼菩薩如見醫王。迦葉白言。如是住邪見者以何藥療。唯願解說令彼了知。迦葉。彼菩薩救療眾生。非用世間之藥。以出世間一切善根無漏智藥傳流四方。醫彼一切眾生妄想之病。真實不虛。

tatra kataraṃ lokottaraṃ jñānabhaiṣajyaṃ · yad idaṃ hetupratyayajñānaḥ nairātmye niḥsatvaḥ nirjīvaniṣpoṣananiṣpudgaleṣu dharmeṣv adhimuktijñānaṃ · śunyatānupalaṃbheṣu dharmeṣv anutrāsaḥ cittaparigaveṣatāye vīryaṃ · sa evaṃ cittaṃ parigaveṣate · kataraṃ cittaṃ rajyati vā duṣyati vā muhyati vā · atītaṃ vā anāgataṃ vā pratyutpannaṃ vā · yadi tāvad atītaṃ cittaṃ tat kṣīṇaṃ · yad anāgataṃ cittaṃ tad asaṃprāptaḥ atha pratyutpannasya cittasya sthitir nāsti · 
何等為佛法藥。隨其因緣。黠慧中無我無人無壽無命。信空度脫。空無空聞是不恐不懼。持精進推念心。何等心入婬。何等心入瞋怒。何等心入癡。持過去當來今現在心入耶。過去為盡甫當來未至今現在無所住也。 
復次迦葉。云何為出世智藥。謂因緣智無我人壽命智。解一切諸法空無恐怖之心。彼作是觀。何者心欲。何者怒癡。為過去耶。為未來現在耶。若過去者去心以滅。若未來者來心未起。若現在者現心不住。 
何謂菩薩出世智藥。謂知諸法從緣合生。信一切法無我無人。亦無眾生壽命知見。無作無受。信解通達無我我所。於是空法無所得中不驚不畏。勤加精進而求心相。菩薩如是求心何等是心。若貪欲耶。若瞋恚耶。若愚癡耶。若過去未來現在耶。若心過去即是盡滅。若心未來未生未至。若心現在則無有住。 
迦葉白言。云何名為出世間智。迦葉。彼智從因緣種生離諸分別。無我無人無眾生無壽命。如是智法於空無著。迦葉。汝等正求心莫驚怖發精進心。彼如是求如是住心。云何住心。云何不住心。有過去未來現在於何而住。迦葉。過去已滅。未來未至。現在無住。

cittaṃ hi kāśyapa na bahirdhā nobhayāyo-m-antarāle upalabhyate · cittaṃ hi kāśyapa arūpyanidarśanam apratigham anābhāsam avijñaptikam apratiṣṭhitam aniketa : cittaṃ hi kāśyapa sarvabuddhair na dṛṣṭaṃ na paśyaṃti na paśyiṣyanti na drrakṣyanti yat sarvabuddhair na dṛṣṭaṃ na paśyaṃti na drakṣyaṃti kīdṛśas tasya pracāro draṣṭavyaṃ nānyatra vitathaviparyāsapatitāyā saṃtatyā dharmāḥ pravartaṃte 3 cittaṃ hi kāśyapa māyāsadṛśaṃm abhūtaṃ vikalpya vividhopapattiṃ parigṛhṇāti 4 cittaṃ hi kāśyapa vāyusadṛśaṃ dūraṃgamam agrrāhyam apracāra 5 cittaṃ hi kāśyapa nadīsrotasadṛśaṃm anavasthitam utpannaṃ bhagnavilīna 6 cittaṃ hi kāśyapa pradīpārciḥsadṛśaṃ hetupratyayatayā pravartate · jvalati ca 7 
佛語迦葉言。心無色無視無見。佛語迦葉言。諸佛亦不見心者。本無所有無所因也。自作是因緣。自得是死生。心遠至而獨行。心譬如流水上生泡沫須臾而滅。 
如是迦葉。心未來不在內亦不在外。亦不在兩中間。心者非色不可見。亦無對無見無知無住無餘倚。迦葉。心者一切諸佛。不已見不當見不今見。若一切諸佛。不已見不當見不今見者。云何知有所行。但以顛倒想故有諸法行。諸法者如幻化之法。受種種生故。是心如風遠行不可持故。心如流水不可住故。心如燈炎緣相續故。 
是心非內非外亦非中間。是心無色。無形無對。無識無知。無住無處。如是心者。十方三世一切諸佛。不已見不今見不當見。若一切佛過去來今而所不見。云何當有。但以顛倒想故。心生諸法種種差別。是心如幻以憶想分別故。起種種業受種種身。又大迦葉。心去如風。不可捉故。心如流水。生滅不住故。心如燈焰。眾緣有故。 
迦葉。又此心法非在內。非在外。亦非中間。迦葉又此心法離眾色相。無住無著而不可見。迦葉。過去一切佛不見。未來一切佛不見。現在一切佛不見。迦葉白言。若過去未來現在一切佛不見者。云何彼心有種種行相。迦葉。彼心無實從妄想生。譬如幻化。種種得生為虛妄見。迦葉白言。虛妄不實。其喻云何。佛言迦葉。心如浮泡生滅不住。心如風行而不可收。心如燈光因緣和合。

cittaṃ hi kāśyapa vidyusadṛśa kṣaṇabhaṃgāvyavasthitaṃ 8 · cittaṃ hi kāśyapa ākāśasadṛśam āgaṃtuke-r-upakleśe saṃkliṣyate 9 cittaṃ hi kāśyapa vānarasadṛśa viśayābhilāṣi vicitrakarmasaṃsthānatayā 10 cittaṃ hi kāśyapa citrakarasadṛśa vicitrakarmābhisaṃskaraṇatayā · 11 cittaṃ hi kāśyapa anavasthitaṃ nānākleśapravartanatayā 12 cittaṃ hi kāśyapa ekacaram advitīyacittābhisandhānatayā 13 cittaṃ hi kāśyapa rājasadṛśaṃ sarvadharmādhipateyā 14 cittaṃ hi kāśyapa amitrasadṛśaṃ sarvaduḥkhasaṃjananatayā 15 
心譬如天暴雨卒來無期。愛欲亦如是卒來無期心譬如飛鳥獼猴不適止一處也。心所因不適止一處也。譬如畫師各各賦彩心各各異。如是隨行所為。譬如王於眾人中為上。心於諸功德中無上。 
心如電光時不住故。是心如霧外事穢故。心如獼猴貪一切境界故。心如畫師造種種行故。心不得住隨眾結故。心獨無侶常樂馳走故。是心如王一切法之首故。是心如母生一切苦故。 
是心如電。念念滅故。心如虛空。客塵污故。心如獼猴。貪六欲故。心如畫師。能起種種業因緣故。心不一定。隨逐種種諸煩惱故。心如大王。一切諸法增上主故。心常獨行無二無伴。無有二心能一時故。心如怨家。能與一切諸苦惱故。 
心如虛空得虛妄煩惱。心如掣電剎那不住。心如猿猴攀緣境界。心如畫師作種種像。心念念不住生一切煩惱。心行體一。無二心用故。心如其王。自在緣一切法故。心如惡友。發生一切苦故。

cittaṃ hi kāśyapa pāṃsvāgārasadṛśam anitye nityasaṃjñayā 16 cittaṃ hi kāśyapa nīlamakṣikāsadṛśam aśuco śucisaṃjñāyā 17 cittaṃ hi kāśyapa matsyabaḍīśasadṛśa duḥkhe sukhasaṃjñāyā 18 cittaṃ hi kāśyapa svapnasadṛśam anātmīye ātmīyasaṃjñāyā 19 cittaṃ hi kāśyapa pratyarthikasadṛśa vividhakāraṇākaraṇatayā 20 cittaṃ hi kāśyapa ojāhārayakṣasadṛśa sadāvatāragaveṣaṇatayā 21 cittaṃ hi kāśyapa arisadṛśaṃ sadā cchidrārāmagaveṣaṇatayā 22 
譬如蒼蠅在糞上住自以為淨。心亦如是入愛欲中自以為淨。心譬如怨家擲人著惡道中無有期也。譬如持灰作城。持無常作有常。譬如持鈎行釣魚得。心持非我所是我所。 
是心如炎聚散一切諸善根故。是心如魚鈎苦有樂想故。是心如夢無我有我想故。是心如蠅不淨有淨想故。是心如怨家所作不可故。是心如羅剎常樂求便故。是心如憎嫉常樂求過故。 
心如狂象。蹈諸土舍能壞一切諸善根故。心如吞鈎。苦中生樂想故。是心如夢。於無我中生我想故。心如蒼蠅。於不淨中起淨想故。 
心如大海。漂溺一切善根故。心如釣魚之人。於苦生樂想故。心如夢幻。妄計我故。心如青蠅。於其不淨生淨想故。心如鬼魅。作種種不善事故。心如藥叉。貪著境界飲人精氣故。心如冤家。恒求過失故。
