Hvad siger du? Går her et sådant rygte? 
BERNICK.
Was Du sagst! Ist hier ein solches Gerücht verbreitet? 
BERNICK.
What? Is there such a rumour as that going about?

这话怎么讲?外头有这种谣言吗? 
HILMAR TØNNESEN.
Ja, det er over hele byen. Jeg hørte det i klubben, hvor jeg drev indom. En af vore sagførere skal i al stilhed per kommission have indkøbt alle skovejendommene, alle malmlejerne, alle vandfaldene – 
HILMAR.
Ja, in der ganzen Stadt. Ich hörte es gestern im Klub, wo ich ein bißchen hinkam. Ein hiesiger Rechtsanwalt soll ganz in der Stille kommissionsweise alle Waldungen, alle Erzlager und alle Wasserfälle angekauft haben – 
HILMAR.
It is all over the town. I heard it at the club when I looked in there. They say that one of our lawyers has quietly bought up, on commission, all the forest land, all the mining land, all the waterfalls--

全城都传遍了。我在俱乐部听见的。他们说，有人委托本地一个律师收买铁路沿线全部森林、矿山、水力-- 
KONSUL BERNICK.
Og siges der ikke, for hvem? 
BERNICK.
Und weiß man auch, für wen? 
BERNICK.
Don’t they say whom it was for?

大家知道不知道他给谁买的? 
HILMAR TØNNESEN.
I klubben mente man, det måtte være for et udenbys selskab, som havde fåt nys om, hvad du havde igære, og som havde skyndet sig før ejendomspriserne steg –. Er det ikke nederdrægtigt – uf! 
HILMAR.
Im Klub meinte man, es müßte für ein auswärtiges Konsortium sein, das von Deinem Vorhaben unterrichtet ist und sich beeilt hat, ehe die Preise stiegen – ist das nicht niederträchtig – uh! 
HILMAR.
At the club they thought it must be for some company, not connected with this town, that has got a hint of the scheme you have in hand, and has made haste to buy before the price of these properties went up. Isn’t it villainous?--ugh!

俱乐部的人说一定是别处一家公司听见了你的新计划，趁着那些产业没涨价赶紧派人来收买的。你说丢脸不丢脸? 嘿! 
KONSUL BERNICK.
Nederdrægtigt? 
BERNICK.
Niederträchtig? 
BERNICK.
Villainous? 
博尼克
丢脸? 
HILMAR TØNNESEN.
Ja, at fremmede således trænger sig ind på vore enemærker. Og at en af byens egne sagførere kan låne sig til sligt! Nu blir det altså udenbys folk, som går af med fordelen. 
HILMAR.
Ja, daß Fremde sich so in unsere Gegend eindrängen, und daß gar ein Rechtsanwalt unserer Stadt sich zu so etwas hergeben kann! Also Fremde werden jetzt die Beute davontragen. 
HILMAR.
Yes, to have strangers putting their fingers into our pie--and one of our own local lawyers lending himself to such a thing! And now it will be outsiders that will get all the profits! 
希尔马
真丢脸，咱们的油水让外头人白蘸。并且还有本地律师给他们卖力气!肥水都落在别人的田地里了。 
KONSUL BERNICK.
Men det er jo dog bare et løst rygte. 
BERNICK.
Aber es ist ja nur ein unverbürgtes Gerücht. 
BERNICK.
But, after all, it is only an idle rumour.

这话靠不住。 
HILMAR TØNNESEN.
Det troes imidlertid, og imorgen eller iovermorgen vil naturligvis redaktør Hammer spigre det fast som et faktum. Der var allerede almindelig forbittrelse deroppe. Jeg hørte flere sige, at hvis det rygte bekræfter sig, så stryger de sig ud af listerne. 
HILMAR.
Das einstweilen geglaubt wird, und morgen oder übermorgen wird Hammer es festnageln als ein Faktum. Im Klub herrschte schon allgemeine Entrüstung. Ich hörte verschiedene Leute sagen, wenn das Gerücht sich bestätigte, so würden sie sich aus den Listen wieder streichen lassen. 
HILMAR.
Meanwhile people are believing it, and tomorrow or the next day, I have no doubt Hammer will nail it to the counter as a fact. There is a general sense of exasperation in the town already. I heard several people say that if the rumour were confirmed they would take their names off the subscription lists.

可是大家都相信。明天或是后天你等着看报纸的社评吧。这事已经惹起了公愤。我听见有人说，要是谣言一证实，他们马上就退股。 
KONSUL BERNICK.
Umuligt! 
BERNICK.
Unmöglich! 
BERNICK.
Impossible! 
博尼克
不会有的事! 
HILMAR TØNNESEN.
Så? Hvorfor tror du disse kræmmersjæle var så villige til at gå med på dit foretagende? Tror du ikke de selv havde spidset sine næser på at –? 
HILMAR.
So? Warum glaubst Du wohl, gingen diese Krämerseelen gleich so bereitwillig auf Deine Vorschläge ein? Meinst Du, sie hätten nicht selbst ihre Nase darauf gespitzt, – 
HILMAR.
Is it? Why do you suppose these mercenary-minded creatures were so willing to go into the undertaking with you? Don’t you suppose they have scented profit for themselves--

你说不会有?你说那些只认识钱的家伙为什么愿意跟你合伙?难道你看不出他们自己在打主意--
