有话快说。什么事? 
SKIBSBYGGER AUNE.
Jeg vilde spørge, om det står fast, – uryggelig fast, – at jeg vilde få min afsked fra værftet, hvis „Indian Girl“ ikke kunde sejle imorgen? 
AUNE.
Ich wollte fragen, ob es feststeht, – unerschütterlich feststeht, – daß ich aus der Werft entlassen werde, wenn »Indian Girl« morgen nicht segelfertig ist. 
AUNE.
I wanted to ask if I am to consider it as certain--absolutely certain--that I should be dismissed from the yard if the “Indian Girl” were not ready to sail tomorrow? 
渥 尼
我想问问，要是“印第安少女”号明天开不出去，是不是您还拿定主意--一点儿都不通融--非把我开除不可? 
KONSUL BERNICK.
Hvad nu? Skibet blir jo sejlfærdigt. 
BERNICK.
Was ist das nun wieder? Das Schiff wird ja seeklar. 
BERNICK.
What do you mean? The ship is ready to sail? 
博尼克
怎么? 不是明天可以开船吗! 
SKIBSBYGGER AUNE.
Ja, – det gør så. Men hvis det nu ikke blev, – havde jeg så min afsked? 
AUNE.
Ja, – freilich; wenn es aber nun nicht seeklar würde, – hätte ich dann meine Entlassung? 
AUNE.
Yes--it is. But suppose it were not, should I be discharged?

不错，明天可以开船。可是万一开不出去--是不是我一定得卷铺盖? 
KONSUL BERNICK.
Hvad skal slige ørkesløse spørgsmål til? 
BERNICK.
Wozu diese müßigen Fragen? 
BERNICK.
What is the use of asking such idle questions? 
博尼克
问这些废话干什么? 
SKIBSBYGGER AUNE.
Jeg vilde så gerne vide det, herr konsul. Svar mig på det: havde jeg så min afsked? 
AUNE.
Ich möchte es gern wissen, Herr Konsul. Antworten Sie mir darauf: hätt’ ich dann meine Entlassung? 
AUNE.
Only that I should like to know, sir. Will you answer me that?--should I be discharged?

先生，我想问个踏实。请您告诉我：是不是我一定得卷铺盖? 
KONSUL BERNICK.
Plejer mit ord stå fast eller ikke? 
BERNICK.
Pflege ich mein Wort zu halten oder nicht? 
BERNICK.
Am I in the habit of keeping my word or not? 
博尼克
我是不是说了话不算数的人? 
SKIBSBYGGER AUNE.
Jeg havde altså imorgen mistet den stilling, jeg har i mit hus og blandt dem, jeg nærmest tilhører, – mistet min indflydelse i arbejdernes kreds, – mistet al anledning til at stifte gagn blandt de lavt og ringe stillede i samfundet. 
AUNE.
Ich hätte also morgen die Stellung nicht mehr, die ich in meinem Haus und bei meinen Angehörigen eingenommen habe, – meinen Einfluß in den Kreisen der Arbeiter nicht mehr, – hätte keine Gelegenheit mehr, Nutzen zu stiften unter den Niederen und Geringen der Gesellschaft?! 
AUNE.
Then tomorrow I should have lost the position I hold in my house and among those near and dear to me--lost my influence over men of my own class--lost all opportunity of doing anything for the cause of the poorer and needier members of the community? 
渥 尼
是不是说，从明天起我在家庭里的地位要改变了?我在工人弟兄中间的力量要消灭了?我不再有机会帮助那些受人欺负的伙伴了? 
KONSUL BERNICK.
Aune, med det punkt er vi færdige. 
BERNICK.
Aune! Dieser Punkt ist erledigt. 
BERNICK.
Aune, we have discussed all that before. 
博尼克

SKIBSBYGGER AUNE.
Ja, så får „Indian Girl“ sejle.
(kort taushed.)  
AUNE.
Gut! So kann »Indian Girl« segeln.
Kurze Pause. 
AUNE.
Quite so--then the “Indian Girl” will sail.
(A short silence.)
