Note on the transliteration:
The transliteration system of the BP/TLB is based on the Unicode/UTF-8 system. However, there may be difficulties with some of the letters – particularly on PC/Windows-based systems, but not so much on the Mac. We have chosen the most accepted older and traditional systems of transliteration against, e.g, Wylie for Tibetan, since with Unicode it is possible, in Sanskrit and Tibetan, etc., to represent one sound with one letter in almost all the cases (excepting Sanskrit and Tibetan aspirated letters, and Tibetan tsa, tsha, dza). We thus do not use the Wylie system which widely employs two letters for one sound (ng, ny, sh, zh etc.).
 
Important:
We ask you in particular to note the use of the ’ apostrophe and not the ' representing the avagrāha in Sanskrit, and most important the ’a-chuṅ in Tibetan. On the Mac the ’ is Alt-M.

kiṃ punar ebhiś cakṣurādibhir ātmaparimāṇatulyasyārthasya grahaṇaṃ bhavaty āśuvṛttyā ca parvatādīnām alātacakrādivad āho svit tulyātulyasya |  yāni tāvad etāni prāptaviṣayāṇ yuktāny ebhiḥ | 
眼等諸根取塵。爲稱其自量。由事速疾(14)故。猶如旋火。乃至遍見大山等。色爲能取等(15)不等量塵。  是前所説。縁至到塵。 
又(12a1)眼等根。爲於自境唯取等量速疾轉故如(2)旋火輪見大山等。爲於自境通取等量不(3)等量耶。

yāvanto hīndriyaparamāṇavas tāvanto hi viṣayaparamāṇavaḥ sametya vijñānaṃ janayanti |  cakṣuḥśrotrābhyāṃ tv aniyamaḥ | kadācid alpīyāṃso yadā vālāgraṃ paśyati |  kadācit samā yadā drākṣāphalaṃ paśyati |  kadācit bhūyāṃso yadā mahāntaṃ parvataṃ paśyaty unmiṣitamātreṇa |  evam śrotreṇa maśakameghādiśabdaśravaṇe ghoṣam |  manas tv amūrttivad eveti nāsya parimāṇaparicchedaḥ saṃpradhāryate |  kathaṃ punar eṣāṃ cakṣurādīndriyaparamāṇūnāṃ saṃniveśaḥ |  cakṣurindriyaparamāṇavas tāvad akṣitārakāyām ajājīpuṣpavad avasthitāḥ |  acchacarmāvacchāditās tu na vikīryante |  adharauttaryeṇa piṇḍavad avasthitā ity apare |  na cānyo ’nyam āvṛṇvanti sphaṭikavad acchatvāt |  śrotrendriyaparamāṇavo bhūrjābhyantarāvasthitāḥ |  ghrāṇendriyaparamāṇavo ghaṭābhyantareṇa śalākāvat |  ādyāni trīṇīndriyāṇi mālāvad avasthitāni |  jihvendriyaparamāṇvo ’rdhacandravat |  vālāgramātraṃ kila madhyajivhāyāṃ jihvendriyaparamāṇubhir asphuṭam |  kāyendriyaparamāṇavaḥ kāyavad avasthitāḥ |  strīdriyaparamāṇavo bherīkaṭāhavat | puruṣendriyaparamāṇavo ’ṅguṣṭhavat |  tatra cakṣurindriyaparamāṇavaḥ kadācit sarve sabhāgā bhavanti kadācit tatsabhāgāḥ |  kadācid eke sabhāgāḥ eke tatsabhāgāḥ |  evam yāvaj jihvendriyaparamāṇavaḥ |  kāyendriyaparamāṇavas tu sarve sabhāgā na bhavanti |  pradīptanarakābhyantarāvaruddhānām api hy aparimāṇāḥ kāyendriyaparamāṇavas tatsabhāgā bhavanti |  sarvaiḥ kila vijñānotpattāv āśrayo viśīryeta |  na caika indriyaparamāṇur viṣayaparamāṇur vā vijñānaṃ janayati |  saṃcitāśrayālambanatvāt pañcānāṃ vijñānakāyānām |  ata evānidarśanaḥ paramāṇur adṛśyatvāt ||  ya ime ṣaḍvijñānadhātava uktāś cakṣurvijñānaṃ yavan manovijñānaṃ kim eṣāṃ yathā viṣayo varttamānaḥ pañcānāṃ caramasya trikāla evam āśrayo ’pi |  nety āha |  kiṃ tarhi | 
釋曰。如根量隣虚。塵(17)隣虚亦爾。共合生鼻等識。  眼耳則無定。有時(18)取最小塵。若見毛端。  有時取等量塵。若見(19)蒲桃子。  有時取最大塵。若見大山。  即於聞(20)時耳亦如此。或聞蚊聲。或聞雷聲。  意既無(21)體。不可説其形量。  眼等諸根隣虚形相云何(22)可知。  眼根隣虚。於眼童子中住。如時羅花  (23)青色所覆。是故不散。  有餘部説。如聚重累(24)住。  互不相障。清徹如頗梨柯寶。  耳根隣虚。(25)於耳中住。如浮休闍皮。  鼻根隣虚。於鼻頞中(26)住。  前三根横作行度。無有高下。  舌根隣虚(27)如半月。  彼説於舌中央。如髮端量。非舌根(28)隣虚所覆。  身根隣虚如身相。  女根隣虚如鼓(29)顙。男根隣虚如大指。  此中眼根隣虚。或時一(172a1)切等分。或時一切非等分。  或時有等分有非(2)等分。  乃至舌根隣虚亦爾。  身根隣虚。無一切(3)等分。  若然焔地獄中。所執駐衆生。有無量(4)身隣虚。亦非一切等分。  何以故。若一切皆發(5)身識。則身散壞。  無唯一隣虚根一隣虚塵能(6)生識。  五識以微聚爲根塵故。  是故隣虚無顯。(7)不可見故。  是六識界如前所説。謂眼識乃至(8)意識。於中五識塵唯現世。最後識塵三世。彼(9)依爲如此不。  説不爾。  云何不爾。 
(5)論曰。前説至境鼻等三根。應知唯能取等量(6)境。如根微量境微亦然。相稱合生鼻等識(7)故。  眼耳不定。謂眼於色有時取小如見毛(8)端。  有時取大如暫開目見大山等。  有時取(9)等如見蒲桃。  如是耳根聽蚊雷等所發(10)種種小大音聲。隨其所應小大等量。  意無(11)質礙不可辯其形量差別。  云何眼等諸根(12)極微安布差別。  眼根極微在眼星上傍布而(13)住。如香荾花。  清澈映覆令無分散。  有(14)説。重累如丸而住。  體清澈故。如頗胝迦(15)不相障礙。  耳根極微居耳穴内旋環而住。(16)如卷樺皮。  鼻根極微居鼻頞内背上面下。(17)如雙爪甲。  此初三根横作行度處無高下。(18)如冠花鬘。  舌根極微布在舌上。形如半月。  (19)傳説。舌中如毛端量非爲舌根極微所遍。  (20)身根極微遍住身分。如身形量。  女根極微形(21)如鼓。男根極微形如指。  眼根極微有時(22)一切皆是同分。  有時一切皆彼同分。有時一(23)分是彼同分餘是同分。  乃至舌根極微亦爾。  (24)身根極微定無一切皆是同分。  乃至極熱捺(25)落迦中猛焔纒身。猶有無量身根極微是彼(26)同分。  傳説。身根設遍發識身應散壞。  以無(27)根境各一極微爲所依縁能發身識。  五識決(28)定積集多微。方成所依所縁性故。  即由此(29)理亦説極微名無見體。不可見故。  如前所(12b1)説。識有六種。謂眼識界乃至意識。爲如五(2)識唯縁現在意識通縁三世非世。如是諸(3)識依亦爾耶。  不爾  云何。

釋曰。亦言顯過去。  此中眼識(12)依。共有同一世故。乃至身識亦爾。  彼過去依。(13)謂意根。如此五識聚。依二根生。  故説如此。(14)若法能爲眼識依。爲能作彼次第縁不。  此中(15)有四句。第一句。謂眼根。第二句。謂次第已(16)滅心法法界。  第三句。謂次第已滅心。第四句。(17)除前三句。  乃至身識自根。亦應如此説。  於意(18)識但無初句。  若法爲依。必爲次第縁故。  若有(19)法爲次第縁非依。  謂無間滅心法法界。 
眼等五識所依或(6)倶。或言表此亦依過去。  眼是眼識倶生所依。(7)如是乃至身是身識倶生所依。同現世故。  無(8)間滅意是過去依。此五識身所依各二。謂眼(9)等五是別所依。意根爲五通所依性。  故如是(10)説。若是眼識所依性者。即是眼識等無間縁(11)耶。設是眼識等無間縁者。復是眼識所依性(12)耶。  應作四句。第一句謂倶生眼根。第二句(13)謂無間滅心所法界。  第三句謂過去意根。(14)第四句謂除所説法。  乃至身識亦爾。各各應(15)説自根。  意識應作順前句答。  謂是意識所(16)依性者。定是意識等無間縁。  有是意識等(17)無間縁非與意識爲所依性。  謂無間滅心(18)所法界。
