Note on the transliteration:
The transliteration system of the BP/TLB is based on the Unicode/UTF-8 system. However, there may be difficulties with some of the letters – particularly on PC/Windows-based systems, but not so much on the Mac. We have chosen the most accepted older and traditional systems of transliteration against, e.g, Wylie for Tibetan, since with Unicode it is possible, in Sanskrit and Tibetan, etc., to represent one sound with one letter in almost all the cases (excepting Sanskrit and Tibetan aspirated letters, and Tibetan tsa, tsha, dza). We thus do not use the Wylie system which widely employs two letters for one sound (ng, ny, sh, zh etc.).
 
Important:
We ask you in particular to note the use of the ’ apostrophe and not the ' representing the avagrāha in Sanskrit, and most important the ’a-chuṅ in Tibetan. On the Mac the ’ is Alt-M.

ayaṃ tu niyamaḥ | 
此中是決(20)判。 
今當(20)略辯此決定相。 
| ’di ni ṅes pa yin te 
 
na kāyasyādharaṃ cakṣuḥ | 
偈曰。眼無下身義。 
頌曰
(21)眼不下於身 色識非上眼
(22)色於識一切 二於身亦然
(23)如眼耳亦然 次三皆自地
(24)身識自下地 意不定應知 
| lus la ’og ma’i mig ma yin | 
 
pañcabhūmikāni hi kāyacakṣūrūpāṇi kāmāvacarāṇi yāvac caturthadhyānabhūmikāni |  dvibhūmikaṃ cakṣurvijñānaṃ kāmāvacaraṃ prathamadhyānabhūmikaṃ ca |  tatra yadbhūmikaḥ kāyas tadbhūmikaṃ cakṣur ūrdhvabhūmikaṃ vā cakṣurbhavati na tv adharabhūmikam |  yadbhūmikaṃ cakṣus tadbhūmikam adharabhūmikaṃ vā rūpaṃ viṣayo bhavati | 
釋曰。身眼色有五地。(21)謂欲界地乃至第四定地。  眼識有二地。謂欲(22)界及初定。  此中隨身地。眼根或等地或上地。(23)定無下地。  隨眼根地。色或等地或下地。是眼(24)境界。 
(25)論曰。身眼色三皆通五地。謂在欲界四靜慮(26)中。  眼識唯在欲界初定。  此中眼根望身生地(27)或等或上終不居下。  色識望眼等下非上。 
lus daṅ mig daṅ gzugs rnams ni ’dod pa na spyod pa nas (2)bsam gtan bźi pa’i bar sa lṅa pa yin no |  | mig gi rnam par śes pa ni ’dod pa na spyod pa daṅ | bsam gtan daṅ po’i sa pa daṅ | sa gñis pa yin no |  | de las gaṅ ba’i lus yin pa sa dpe ’am | sa goṅ ma pa’i mig yin gyi sa ’og ma pa ni ma yin no |  | ’di’i mig gi yul ni de’i sa pa ’am | sa (3)’og ma pa’i gzugs yin gyi 
       
ūrdhvaṃ rūpaṃ na cakṣuṣaḥ | 
偈曰。上色非下境。

na hi kadācid ūrdhvabhūmikaṃ rūpam adhobhūmikena cakṣuṣā draṣṭuṃ śakyate | 
釋曰。未曾有上地(25)色下地眼能見。 
(28)下眼不能見上色故。 
sa goṅ ma pa’i gzugs sa ’og ma pa’i mig gis mthoṅ bar ni nam yaṅ mi nus so |

偈曰。識。

釋曰。識。不得在眼(26)上。譬如色。 
上識不依下地眼(29)故。

asya rūpaṃ tu kāyasyobhe ca sarvataḥ || 1.46 || 
偈曰。於此色遍於身二一切。

釋(27)曰於此。謂於前所説眼識。一切色是其境界。(28)或上或下或等。  二謂識及色。於身此二一切(29)有。如廣説眼根。應知如此。 
色望於識通等上下。  色識於身如色於(13a1)識。廣説耳界應知如眼。 
de’i źes bya ba (4)bśad ma thag pa’i mig gi rnam par śes pa’i yul ni goṅ ma daṅ ’og ma daṅ raṅ gis ba’i gzugs thams cad du yin la |  lus kyi ’aṅ gzugs daṅ | rnam par śes pa dag thams cad du yin no | | ji ltar mig ’di rgyas par bśad pa ltar
