Note on the transliteration:
The transliteration system of the BP/TLB is based on the Unicode/UTF-8 system. However, there may be difficulties with some of the letters – particularly on PC/Windows-based systems, but not so much on the Mac. We have chosen the most accepted older and traditional systems of transliteration against, e.g, Wylie for Tibetan, since with Unicode it is possible, in Sanskrit and Tibetan, etc., to represent one sound with one letter in almost all the cases (excepting Sanskrit and Tibetan aspirated letters, and Tibetan tsa, tsha, dza). We thus do not use the Wylie system which widely employs two letters for one sound (ng, ny, sh, zh etc.).
 
Important:
We ask you in particular to note the use of the ’ apostrophe and not the ' representing the avagrāha in Sanskrit, and most important the ’a-chuṅ in Tibetan. On the Mac the ’ is Alt-M.

謂耳不下於身。(2)聲識非上耳。聲於識一切。二於身亦然

釋曰。身在欲界。(6)觸亦爾。此三恒在自地。  身識有處屬自地。如(7)人生欲界及初定。  有處屬下地。如人生二定。 
謂身與觸其地必同。  識望觸身或(5)自或下。  自謂若生欲界初定。生上三定謂(6)之爲下。

釋曰。有時意根與身意(9)識法。同在一地。有時上下爲地。  於五地身(10)意等屬一切地。謂入觀時。及受生時。如此道(11)理。於分別三摩跋提品中當廣説。  爲離繁重(12)言故。不於此品中説。  何以故。功多用少故。(13)前來往復。與隨所欲説相關竟。  今應思量(14)此義。 
應知意界四事不定。謂意有時與(7)身識法四皆同地。有時上下。  身唯五地。三(8)通一切。於遊等至及受生時隨其所應(9)或同或異。如後定品當廣分別。  爲捨繁文(10)故今未辯。  前後再述用少功多。傍論已周。應(11)辯正論。  今當思擇。
