Note on the transliteration:
The transliteration system of the BP/TLB is based on the Unicode/UTF-8 system. However, there may be difficulties with some of the letters – particularly on PC/Windows-based systems, but not so much on the Mac. We have chosen the most accepted older and traditional systems of transliteration against, e.g, Wylie for Tibetan, since with Unicode it is possible, in Sanskrit and Tibetan, etc., to represent one sound with one letter in almost all the cases (excepting Sanskrit and Tibetan aspirated letters, and Tibetan tsa, tsha, dza). We thus do not use the Wylie system which widely employs two letters for one sound (ng, ny, sh, zh etc.).
 
Important:
We ask you in particular to note the use of the ’ apostrophe and not the ' representing the avagrāha in Sanskrit, and most important the ’a-chuṅ in Tibetan. On the Mac the ’ is Alt-M.

Brahmaśrībyākaraṇa 
The exalted sūtra of the Great Vehicle entitled The Prediction [to Buddhahood] Regarding Brahmaśrī 
tshaṅs pa’i dpal luṅ bstan pa źes bya ba theg pa chen po’i mdo | 
 
(199b6) || rgya gar skad du | Ārya brahmaśrībyākaraṇa nāma mahāyāna-sūtra | bod skad du | ’phags pa tshaṅs pa’i dpal luṅ bstan pa źes bya ba theg pa chen po’i mdo | 
 
saṅs rgyas daṅ byaṅ chub sems dpa’ thams cad la phyag ’tshal lo || 
Homage to all Buddhas and Bodhisatvas. 
’di skad bdag gis thos pa dus gcig (7) na | bcom ldan ’das mñan yod na rgyal bu rgyal byed kyi tshal mgon med zas sbyin gyi kun dga’ ra ba na dge sloṅ gi dge ’dun maṅ po daṅ thabs cig tu bźugs so || 
This is what I've heard: Once, the Blessed One was staying at Śrāvastī, in Prince Jeta's Grove, in Anatapiṇḍada's pleasure garden, together with a community of many monks. 
de nas bcom ldan ’das sṅa dro śam thabs daṅ chos gos gsol te lhuṅ bzed bsnams nas mñan yod kyi groṅ khyer du bsod (200a1) sñoms la gśegs so || 
Then one morning, the Blessed One put on his upper and lower robes, took his begging bowl and went into the city of Śrāvastī to gather alms. 
yaṅ de’i tshe mñan yod kyi groṅ khyer gyi phyi rol na byis pa phal po che dag sa rdul gyi khyim daṅ | sa rdul gyi ra ba daṅ | sa rdul gyi khaṅ pa brtsegs pa dag gis rtse źiṅ ’khod pa las byis pa phal po che de dag gis thag riṅ po źig nas bcom (2) ldan ’das gśegs pa mthoṅ ṅo || 
At that time, outside the city of Śrāvastī, a group of young children who were sitting and playing, making houses, courtyards and castles out of sand, saw the Blessed One approaching in the distance. 
mthoṅ nas kyaṅ lhag par dga’ ba daṅ | rab tu dga’ ba daṅ | yid bde ba skyes te rtse dga’ źiṅ ’khod do || 
When they saw the Blessed One, they were delighted, overjoyed. They continued to sit, playing happily. 
de nas bcom ldan ’das khye’u de dag la thugs brtse ba’i phyir gaṅ na khye’u de dag rtse źiṅ ’khod pa’i sa phyogs der gśegs so || 
Then the Blessed One, out of compassion for the children, went over to them. 
(3) de nas byis pa de dag gi naṅ nas khye’u tshaṅs pa’i dpal źes bya ba źig bcom ldan ’das kyi źabs la phyag ’tshal nas | bcom ldan ’das kyi spyan sṅar ’dug go || 
Then one of the boys, named Brahmaśrī, payed homage at the feet of the Blessed One, and sat down before him. 
de nas bcom ldan ’das kyis mkhyen bźin du byis pa de dag la ’di skad ces bka’ stsal to ||  byis pa khyed ’di na (4) ci byed | 
Then the Blessed One, although he already knew the answer, asked the children:  What are you children doing? 
de skad ces bka’ stsal pa daṅ | bcom ldan ’das la khye’u de dag gis ’di skad ces gsol to || bcom ldan ’das bdag cag ’di na sa rdul gyi khyim dag daṅ | sa rdul gyi ra ba dag daṅ | sa rdul gyi khaṅ pa brtsegs pa dag gis rtse źiṅ mchis lags so || 
The children answered: Blessed One, we are sitting here and playing, making houses, courtyards and castles out of sand. 
de nas bcom (5) ldan ’das la khye’u tshaṅs pa’i dpal gyis ’di skad ces gsol to || bcom ldan ’das bdag la thugs brtse ba’i slad du sa rdul gyi khaṅ pa brtsegs pa ’di bźes su gsol | 
Then Brahmaśrī said to him: Blessed One, please accept this sandcastle as a gift, out of compassion for me. 
de nas bcom ldan ’das kyis khye’u tshaṅs pa’i dpal gyi lhag pa’i bsam pa daṅ | dga’ ba’i sems thugs (6) su chud nas thugs brtse ba’i phyir sa rdul gyi khaṅ pa brtsegs pa de bźes so || 
The Blessed One saw that Brahmaśrī's intentions were sincere and that his spirit was joyful, and so out of compassion, he accepted the sandcastle. 
de nas saṅs rgyas kyi mthus skad cig de daṅ | yud tsam de la sa rdul gyi khaṅ pa brtsegs pa de rin po che sna bdun las grub pa’i khaṅ pa brtsegs pa źig tu gyur nas | bcom ldan ’das kyi spyan sṅa na (7) ’dug par gyur te | 
Then, at that moment, at that very instant, the sandcastle in front of the Buddha was transformed by his power into a castle made of the seven kinds of jewels. 
de’i śar phyogs kyi ṅos su ni gser gyi ka ba brgyad khri bźi stoṅ zug par gyur | lho phyogs kyi ṅos su ni dṅul gyi ka ba brgyad khri bźi stoṅ zug par gyur | nub phyogs kyi ṅos su ni bai dūr ya’i ka ba brgyad khri bźi stoṅ zug par gyur | byaṅ phyogs kyi ṅos su ni śel gyi ka (200b1) pa brgyad khri bźi stoṅ zug par gyur to || 
The castle had 84,000 golden pillars on its eastern side, 84,000 silver pillars on its southern side, 84,000 pillars of baiḍūrya on its western side, and 84,000 pillars of crystal on its northern side. 
de nas de’i tshe khye’u tshaṅs pa’i dpal gyis rdzu ’phrul gyi cho ’phrul de mthoṅ nas lhag par yaṅ ches dga’ ba daṅ | mchog tu dga’ ba rgya chen po skyes par gyur to || 
When the boy Brahmaśrī saw this marvel, he became even more delighted, and great joy arose in him. 
de nas bcom ldan ’das la khye’u tshaṅs pa’i dpal gyis tshigs su bcad (2) pa ’di dag gsol to || 
Then he broke into verse: 
kye ma ’jig rten mgon po yis || rdzu ’phrul śin tu rgya chen bstan ||
bdag ñid la ni thugs brtse’i phyir || saṅs rgyas kyis ni rdzu ’phrul bstan || 1 || 
1. O, the Savior of the world
Has displayed a magnificent prodigy
Out of compassion for me
The Buddha has displayed a miracle. 
draṅ sroṅ che la bdag gis ni || sa rdul khaṅ brtsegs phul ba de ||
rin po che las grub par gyur || kye ma (3) saṅs rgyas bsam mi khyab || 2 || 
2. The sandcastle
That I offered to the Great Sage
Has been transformed into jewels
O, how inconceivable is the Buddha. 
kye kye źiṅ ni ’di ’dra ba || saṅs rgyas źiṅ ni bla med pa ||
mig med mig ni ñams pa daṅ || śes rab chuṅ ṅus mi śes so || 3 || 
3. O, O, such a field is this.
The field of the Buddha is unsurpassed.
The blind, those with no vision, and those of little wisdom
Cannot conceive of this. 
rkaṅ gñis dam pa ’gro ba’i źiṅ || ’di ni bdag gis rñed pa daṅ ||
dal ba rab dkon thob pas na || byaṅ chub tu ni smon lam (4) gdab || 4 || 
4. The Best of Men is the field for sentient beings.
This field has been obtained by me.
Having gained this rare opportunity,
I plant the seeds of Awakening. 
bdag kyaṅ ’dren pa khyod kyi ni || yon tan rjes su slob par ’tshal ||
bla med byaṅ chub thob nas ni || rdzu ’phrul ’di ’dra bdag gis bgyi || 5 || 
5. O guide, I aspire to develop your qualities.
When I have attained
Unsurpassed Awakening,
I will perform such marvels. 
de nas de’i tshe bcom ldan ’das kyis ’dzum pa mdzad nas bcom ldan ’das kyi źal gyi sgo nas ’od zer kha dog sna tshogs ’di lta ste | (5) sṅon po daṅ | ser po daṅ | dmar po daṅ | dkar po daṅ | btsod ka daṅ | śel gyi kha dog daṅ | dṅul gyi kha dog lta bu dag byuṅ ṅo || 
Then the Blessed One smiled, and rays of color blazed from his mouth: blue, yellow, red, white, crimson, crystal and silver. 
de dag byuṅ nas tshaṅs pa’i ’jig rten gyi bar du soṅ ste | yaṅ slar log nas bcom ldan ’das la lan gsum bskor ba byas te | bcom ldan ’das kyi (6) dbu’i gtsug tor du nub par gyur to || 
These rays, having blazed forth, rose as far as the Brahmaloka, returned, circled the Blessed One three times, and vanished into the crown of his head. 
de nas bcom ldan ’das la tshe daṅ ldan pa kun dga’ bos tshigs su bcad de gsol pa | 
Then Ānanda spoke to the Blessed One in verse: 
rgyal mchog ’dren pa ’gro ba’i gtso bo rnams || rgyu ma mchis par ’dzum pa mi mdzad na ||
thugs rje ldan pa ’jig rten sman smad du || deṅ ’dir ci phyir ’dzum (7) mdzad bdag la gsuṅs || 6 || 
6. The Supreme Conquerors, the Leaders, the Best of Men,
Do not smile without reason.
Compassionate One, for the benefit the world,
Explain to us now why you have smiled. 
de skad ces gsol pa daṅ | bcom ldan ’das kyis tshe daṅ ldan pa kun dga’ bo la ’di skad ces bka’ stsal to || kun dga’ bo khyod kyis khye’u tshaṅs pa’i dpal ’di mthoṅ ṅam | 
The Blessed One replied to the Venerable Ānanda: Ānanda, do you see this boy, Brahmaśrī? 
gsol pa bcom ldan ’das mthoṅ lags so || 
He answered: I see him. 
bcom ldan ’das kyis (201a1) bka’ stsal pa | kun dga’ bo khye’u ’di dge ba’i rtsa ba ’di daṅ | sems kyi smon pa ’dis ni bskal pa sum stoṅ ñis brgya’i bar du nams kyaṅ sems can dmyal bar ’gro bar mi ’gyur ro || 
The Blessed One said: Ānanda, this boy, because of his aspiration and his roots of virtue, will not go to the hell-realms for 3,200 eons. 
des byaṅ chub bsgrubs nas de bźin gśegs pa dgra bcom pa yaṅ dag (2) par rdzogs pa’i saṅs rgyas ’jig rten thams cad las mṅon par ’phags pa źes bya bar ’gyur ro || źes gsuṅs so || 
When he has attained Awakening, he will become a Tathāgata, an Arhant, a Fully Awakened Buddha named *Sarvalokābhyudgata, "He who has Transcended the Entire World". 
de nas bcom ldan ’das kyis de’i tshe tshigs su bcad pa ’di dag bka’ stsal to || 
The Blessed One then spoke these verses: 
saṅs rgyas la ni dad pa yis || bsod nams chuṅ ṅu skye mi ’gyur ||
chos (3) mchog thos daṅ dge ’dun la || gus par byas pa’aṅ de bźin no || 7 || 
7. No small merit is produced
by having faith in the Awakened Ones.
The same is true of listening to the Supreme Dharma
And of honoring the Saṅgha. 
saṅs rgyas la ni dad pa la || byaṅ chub thob par dka’ ba med ||
de phyir byaṅ chub ’dod pas ’dir || ’jig rten ’dren rnams mchod par bya || 8 || 
8. For one with faith in the Buddha
Awakening is not hard to obtain.
Therefore those who seek Awakening here
Should make offerings to the Guides of the World. 
kun dga’ khye’u ’di rkaṅ gñis kyi || mchog ste dpal daṅ ldan pa (4) yi ||
mṅon par ’phags pa źes bya ba || ’jig rten gyi ni ’dren par ’gyur || 9 || 
9. Ānanda, this boy will become
the Best of Men, A Guide of the World
named *Abhyudgata,
Glorious One. 
de ltar saṅs rgyas bsam mi khyab || saṅs rgyas chos kyaṅ de bźin te ||
bsam mi khyab la dad pa yi || rnam par smin pa’aṅ de bźin no || 10 || 
10. The Buddhas are inconceivable.
So too is their Dharma,
And the ripening of the deeds
Of those with faith in the inconceivable. 
bcom ldan ’das kyis de skad ces bka’ stsal nas | tshe daṅ (5) ldan pa kun dga’ bo daṅ | khye’u tshaṅs pa’i dpal bcom ldan ’das kyis gsuṅs pa la yi raṅs te mṅon par bstod do || || 
When the Blessed One had pronounced this teaching, the Venerable Ānanda, and the boy Brahmaśrī were delighted, and praised his words highly. 
’phags pa tshaṅs pa’i dpal luṅ bstan pa źes bya ba theg pa chen po’i mdo rdzogs so || || 
The exalted sūtra of the Great Vehicle entitled The Prediction Regarding Brahmaśrī is completed. 
rgya gar gyi mkhan po biśuddha-siṅha daṅ | lotstsha ba (6) bande dge ba dpal gyis bsgyur | rgya gar gyi mkhan po bidyākarasiṅha daṅ | źu chen gyi lotstsha ba bande deba tsandras źus te gtan la phab pa | 
Translated by the Indian preceptor Biśuddhasiṅha and the translator Bande Dge ba dpal; checked and finalized by the Indian preceptor Bidyākarasiṅha and the master editor, the translator Bande Debacandra.
