وإنّ أمّة بلغت ما بلغته الأمّة المصرية من الرقي والنضوج المبكّر البدري، لجديرة بآداب راقية فنّية مستقلّة خاصّة بها . 
wa-ʔinna ʔummaẗan balaġat mā balaġat-hu ’l-ʔummaẗu ’l-miṣriyyaẗu min al-ruqiyy wa’l-nuḍūǧ al-mubakkir al-badrī, la-ǧadīraẗun bi-ʔādāb rāqiyaẗ fanniyyaẗ mustaqillaẗ ḫāṣṣaẗ bi-hā. 
A nation that has achieved such a degree of progress and early, promising maturation as the Egyptian nation has achieved, is indeed worthy of an independent, artistically advanced literature/culture bearing its [sc., this nation’s] own distinctive features.
