ولعلّ النجاح الذي صادفه النوعُ المجوني الضئيل يرجع إلى المسحة المصرية التي تتجلّى فيه ، 
wa-liʕalla ’l-naǧāḥ allaḏī ṣādafa-hu ’l-nawʕu ’l-muǧūnī al-ḍaʔīl yarǧiʕ ʔilà ’l-masḥaẗ al-miṣriyyaẗ allatī tataǧallà fī-h, 
Maybe the obscene and miserable type [of plays] owes its success just to the Egyptian touch that becomes manifest in it,
