Note on the transliteration:
The transliteration system of the BP/TLB is based on the Unicode/UTF-8 system. However, there may be difficulties with some of the letters – particularly on PC/Windows-based systems, but not so much on the Mac. We have chosen the most accepted older and traditional systems of transliteration against, e.g, Wylie for Tibetan, since with Unicode it is possible, in Sanskrit and Tibetan, etc., to represent one sound with one letter in almost all the cases (excepting Sanskrit and Tibetan aspirated letters, and Tibetan tsa, tsha, dza). We thus do not use the Wylie system which widely employs two letters for one sound (ng, ny, sh, zh etc.).
 
Important:
We ask you in particular to note the use of the ’ apostrophe and not the ' representing the avagrāha in Sanskrit, and most important the ’a-chuṅ in Tibetan. On the Mac the ’ is Alt-M.

tadyathāpi nāma kāśyapa rājño ’grramahiṣyāḥ tatkṣaṇajātaṃ kumāra sarvaśreṣṭhinaigamajānapadā koṭṭarājānaś ca namasyanti · evam eva kāśyapa prathamacittotpādiko bodhisatvaḥ sadevako loko namasyanti · tatredam ucyate 23
yathāpi rājña pṛthivīśvarasya putro bhavel lakṣaṇacitritāṅgaṃ
dṛṣṭvā eva taṃ jātamātraṃ kumāraṃ sakoṭṭa rājā praṇamaṃti paurāḥ
utpannamātre tatha bodhisatve sallakṣaṇaṃ taṃ jinarājaputraṃ
lokas sadevo ’pi namaskaronti prasannacittaṃ bahumānapūrvam* 
譬如遮迦越羅有少子。諸小王傍臣皆為作禮。初發意菩薩如是。諸天釋梵世間人龍鬼神皆為作禮。 
譬如迦葉聖王皇后初生童子。一切臣屬皆為作禮。菩薩如是初發道心。一切天人皆為作禮。 
迦葉。譬如大王夫人生子之日。小王群臣皆來拜謁。菩薩亦爾。初發心時諸天世人皆當禮敬。 
佛告迦葉。譬如輪王皇后。所生王子具足輪王福相。一切國王及諸人民悉皆歸伏。迦葉。如是初發心菩薩。天上人間一切有情悉皆歸伏。我今於此而說頌曰。
譬如轉輪王 皇后所生子
雖為童子身 具足王福相
國王及臣民 一切皆歸向
菩薩亦如是 初發菩提心
佛子相具足 一切諸世間
　天人眾生類 清淨心歸向

| dper na sa bdag chen po rgyal po la || mtshan gyis lus spras bu zhig yod gyur na |
| gzhon nu de ni btsas par mthong ma thag || grong khyer mi dang rgyal phran thams cad ’dud |
| de bzhin byang chub sems ni bskyed ma thag || mtshan ldan rgyal ba’i sras po de la ni |
| lha dang bcas pa’i ’jig rten phyag ’tshal zhing || dang ba’i sems kyis shin tu gces par ’dzin ||
