Pyt; tror du den vågnende folkeløve lar sig skræmme af uniformshuer? Ja, for vi gør revolution i byen imorgen, skal du vide. Du trued med at afsætte mig; men nu afsætter jeg dig, – afsætter dig fra alle dine tillidsposter –. Tror du ikke jeg kan det? Jo, du; jeg har de sejrende samfundsmagter med mig. Hovstad og Billing vil tordne i „Folkebudet“, og bogtrykker Aslaksen rykker ud i spidsen for hele husejerforeningen –

DR. STOCKMANN.
Pish! Do you think the awakening leonine people will allow themselves to be scared by an official cap? For you will see, we are going to have a revolution in the town to-morrow. You threatened to dismiss me, but now I dismiss you–dismiss you from ail your offices of trust. You think I cannot do it?–Oh, yes, I can! I have the irresistible force of society with me. Hovstad and Billing will thunder forth in the People’s Messenger, and printer Aslaksen will come forward at the head of the whole Householders’ Association–

STOCKMANN.
Pah! Glaubst Du, daß der erwachende Volkslöwe sich durch Amtsmützen schrecken ließe ? Ja, Du, – wir machen morgen Revolution in der Stadt. Du hast gedroht, mich abzusetzen; aber nun setze ich Dich ab, – setze Dich von allen Deinen Vertrauensämtern ab. – Glaubst Du etwa, ich kann das nicht? O doch. Die siegenden Gewalten der Gesellschaft sind mit mir. Hovstad und Billing werden im »Volksboten« donnern, und Aslaksen rückt aus an der Spitze des ganzen Vereins der Hausbesitzer –?

HOVSTADT.

ASLAKSEN.
Nej, herr Hovstad er ikke så gal, at han skulde gå hen og ødelægge både sig selv og bladet for en indbildnings skyld.

ASLAKSEN.
No, Mr. Hovstad isn’t such a fool as to ruin both himself and the paper for the sake of a fancy.

ASLAKSEN.
Nein, Herr Hovstad ist nicht so dumm, um eines Hirngespinstes willen sich selbst und die Zeitung zu ruinieren.

阿斯拉克森
霍夫斯达先生不是傻子，不会为了一件捕风捉影的事儿让自己遭殃。

DOKTOR STOCKMANN
(ser sig om).
Hvad skal dette her sige?

DR. STOCKMANN
[looking about him].

STOCKMANN
(sieht sich um).

HOVSTAD.

HOVSTADT.
Sie haben Ihre Sache in einem falschen Lichte dargestellt, Herr Doktor; und deshalb kann ich Sie nicht unterstützen.

霍夫斯达
斯多克芒大夫，你那篇文章里的话靠不住，所以我不能支持你。

BILLING.
Nej, efter det, herr byfogden var så artig at fortælle mig derinde, så –

BILLING.
And after what the Burgomaster has been so kind as to tell me in there, I–

STOCKMANN.
In falschem Licht? Das lassen Sie doch meine Sorge sein. Drucken Sie nur meinen Aufsatz; ich bin Manns genug, dafür einzustehen.
