KONSUL BERNICK.
Hør her; jeg kan ikke have mine øjne allevegne; kan ikke være ansvarlig for alt; – De tør vel forsikre mig, at reparationen er upåklageligt udført?

BERNICK.
Hören Sie, Aune! Ich kann meine Augen nicht überall haben, kann nicht für alles verantwortlich sein, – Sie können mir doch die Versicherung geben, daß die Reparatur untadelhaft ausgeführt ist?

BERNICK.
Look here--it is impossible for me to have my eyes everywhere--I cannot be answerable for everything. You can give me your assurance, I suppose, that the repairs have been satisfactorily carried out?

博尼克
听我说，我不能事事自己操心，自己负责。我想你大概可以对我保证修理工程已经彻底完成了吧?

SKIBSBYGGER AUNE.
De satte mig en knap frist, herr konsul.

AUNE.
Sie haben mir eine knappe Frist gestellt, Herr Konsul.

AUNE.
You gave me very short grace, Mr. Bernick.

渥尼
博尼克先生，您给我的限期太短。

KONSUL BERNICK.
Men reparationen er forsvarlig, siger De?

BERNICK.
Aber die Reparatur ist ordnungsmäßig, sagen Sie?

BERNICK.
But I understand you to warrant the repairs?

博尼克
可是你说过工程保证没问题?

SKIBSBYGGER AUNE.
Vi har jo godvejr og sommertid.
(atter taushed.)

AUNE.
Wir haben ja gutes Wetter und Sommerzeit.
Wieder Pause.

AUNE.
The weather is fine, and it is summer.
(Another pause.)

渥尼
现在天气好，又正是夏天。
(又是一阵静默。)

KONSUL BERNICK.
Har De ellers noget at sige mig?

BERNICK.
Haben Sie mir sonst noch etwas zu sagen?

BERNICK.
Have you anything else to say to me?

博尼克
你还有别的话没有?

SKIBSBYGGER AUNE.
Jeg véd ikke noget andet, herr konsul.

AUNE.
Sonst wüßte ich nichts, Herr Konsul.

AUNE.
I think not, sir.

渥尼
我想没什么可说的了，先生。

KONSUL BERNICK.
Altså, – „Indian Girl“ sejler –

BERNICK.
Also – »Indian Girl« segelt –

BERNICK.
Then--the “Indian Girl” will sail...

博尼克
既然如此--“印第安少女”号要开出去--

SKIBSBYGGER AUNE.
Imorgen?

AUNE.
Morgen?

AUNE.
Tomorrow?

渥尼
明天?

KONSUL BERNICK.
Ja.

BERNICK.
Ja.

BERNICK.
Yes.

Vel.
(han hilser og går.)
(Konsul Bernick står et øjeblik tvivlrådig; derpå går han raskt hen imod udgangsdøren, som om han vilde kalde Aune tilbage, men standser urolig med hånden på dørvrideren. I det samme åbnes døren udenfra og fuldmægtig Krap træder ind.)

AUNE.
Gut.
Er grüßt und geht.
Bernick steht einen Augenblick unentschlossen da; dann geht er rasch zur Ausgangstür, als ob er Aune zurückrufen wollte, bleibt aber voll Unruhe stehen, die Hand auf der Türklinke. In demselben Augenblick wird die Tür von außen geöffnet und KRAP tritt ein.

AUNE.
Very good.
(Bows and goes out. BERNICK stands for a moment irresolute; then walks quickly towards the door, as if to call AUNE back; but stops, hesitatingly, with his hand on the door-handle. At that moment the door is opened from without, and KRAP comes in.)

渥尼
好吧。
(鞠躬，出去。博尼克站了会儿，拿不定主意，他快步走到门口，好像想把渥尼叫回来，可是又在门口站住，攥着门拉手，犹豫不决。正在这当口，克拉普从外头开门进来。)
