Note on the transliteration:
The transliteration system of the BP/TLB is based on the Unicode/UTF-8 system. However, there may be difficulties with some of the letters – particularly on PC/Windows-based systems, but not so much on the Mac. We have chosen the most accepted older and traditional systems of transliteration against, e.g, Wylie for Tibetan, since with Unicode it is possible, in Sanskrit and Tibetan, etc., to represent one sound with one letter in almost all the cases (excepting Sanskrit and Tibetan aspirated letters, and Tibetan tsa, tsha, dza). We thus do not use the Wylie system which widely employs two letters for one sound (ng, ny, sh, zh etc.).
 
Important:
We ask you in particular to note the use of the ’ apostrophe and not the ' representing the avagrāha in Sanskrit, and most important the ’a-chuṅ in Tibetan. On the Mac the ’ is Alt-M.

āyatanadhātūnāṃ ṣaṇṇāṃ cakṣurādīnām anukramo vaktavyaḥ |  tadvaśenaiva hi tadviṣayavijñānānāṃ kramaḥ | teṣāṃ ca punaḥ ṣaṇṇāṃ | 
入界(22)中眼等六應説次第。  何以故。由隨此塵及識(23)次第易知故此眼等六。 
處(20)界門中應先7辨説六根次第。  由斯境識次(21)第可知。

cakṣurādīni pañca varttamānaviṣayatvāt pūrvam uktāni | manas tv aniyataviṣayam  kiñcid varttamānaviṣayaṃ kiñcit vyadhvānadhraviṣayam | 
釋(24)曰。眼等五根縁現在塵。是故先説。意根境界(25)不定。  有意根縁現在塵有縁三世及非三世(26)塵。 
(24)論曰。於六根中。眼等前五唯取現境。是故(25)先説。意境不定。三世無爲。  或唯取一或二三(26)四。 
| mig la sogs pa lṅa’i yul ni da ltar yin pa’i phyir sṅar smos so | | yid kyi yul ma ṅes pa can yin te |  kha cig gi yul ni da ltar yin pa nas | kha cig gi yul ni dus gsum daṅ dus ma yin pa’i par yin no | 
   
bhautikārthyāc catuṣṭayam | 
偈曰。四所造塵故。 
所言四境唯所造者。 
| ’byuṅ ba las gyur don phyir bźi | 
 
prāg iti varttate | pañcānāṃ punaś catvāri pūrvam uktāni | bhautikaviṣayatvāt |  kāyasya tvaniyato viṣayaḥ  kadācid bhūtāni kadācid bhautikam kadācid ubhayam | 
釋曰。前言流至此五(27)中。四在前説。所造色爲塵故。  身塵不定。或  (28)身縁四大。或縁所造。或復倶縁。 
前流至此。五中前(27)四境唯所造。是故先説。  身境不定。  或取大(28)種。或取造色。或二倶取。 
| daṅ por źes bya (5)bar sñegs so | | lṅa rnams las kyaṅ bźir sṅar smos pa ni yul ’byuṅ ba las gyur pa yin pa’i phyir ro |  | lus kyi yul ni ma ṅes te |  res ’ga’ ni ’byuṅ ba dag yin la | res ’ga’ ni ’byuṅ ba las gyur pa dag yin no | | res ’ga’ ni gñig yin no | 
     
dūrāśutaravṛttyā ’nyat 
偈曰。餘遠(29)急明事。

śeṣaṃ punar itarasmād yathāyogaṃ dūrāśutaravṛttyā pūrvam uktam | cakṣuḥśrotraṃ hi dūraviṣayam |  tat pūrvam uktaṃ dvayāt | tayor api cakṣuṣo dūratare vṛttiḥ |  paśyato ’pi dūrān nadīṃ tacchabdāśravaṇād atas tat pūrvam uktam |  ghrāṇasya tu nāsti dūre vṛttiḥ | jihvāyāś ca |  tayor āśutaravṛttitvāt ghrāṇaṃ pūrvam uktamaprāptasyaiva jihvā bhojyasya gandhagrahaṇāt | 
釋曰。餘者謂前四根。此次第前説。(166b1)由遠急明事故眼耳縁遠境。  於後二前説。於(2)前二中。眼事最遠。  遠見江河。不聞聲故。故(3)眼在前。後有急緩事。如先見人撃鼓後方(4)聞聲。  鼻舌無遠事。  鼻事急故前説。如飮食未(5)到舌。鼻已知香故。又鼻事明了。能縁味細香(6)故。舌則不爾。 
餘謂前四。如其所(29)應用遠速明。是故先説。謂眼耳根取遠境(6a1)故。  在二先説。二中眼用遠故先説。  遠見山(2)河不聞聲故。又眼用速。先遠見人撞撃鍾(3)皷後聞聲故。  鼻舌兩根用倶非遠。  先説鼻(4)者。由速明故。如對香美諸飮食時。鼻先(5)嗅香舌後甞味。

釋曰。復次(7)於身中。眼根依止在上。耳根次下。  鼻又下(8)耳。舌又下鼻。身多下舌。  意根依止其中。無(9)有的處。故如處所。立彼次第。 
或於身中隨所依處上下(6)差別説根次第。謂眼所依最居其上。次耳  (7)鼻舌身多居下。  意無方處。有即依止諸根(8)生者。故最後説。
