kṣāntayaś cocyante jñānāni ca samyagdṛṣṭiḥ samyagjñānaṃ ca |  kiṃ punaḥ kṣāntayo na jñānaṃ samyagjñānaṃ ca na dṛṣṭiḥ | 
   
nāmalā kṣāntayo jñānaṃ 
 
tatpraheyasya vicikitsā ’nuśayasyāgrahīṇatvāt |  dṛṣṭayastu tā santiraṇātmakattvāt yathā ca kṣāntayo dṛṣṭirna jñānamevaṃ punaḥ 
   
kṣayānutpādadhīr na dṛk | 
 
kṣayānamanutpādajñānaṃ ca na dṛṣṭirasantīraṇāparimārgaṇāśayatvāt | 
 
tadanyobhayathāryā dhīḥ 
 
kṣāntikṣayānutpādajñānebhyo ’nyā ’nāsravā prajñā dṛṣṭiḥ jñānaṃ ca | 
 
anyā jñānaṃ 
 
laukikī prajñā sarvaiva jñānam |

pañca dṛṣṭayo laukikī ca samyagdṛṣṭiḥ |  eṣā ṣaḍvidhā laukikī prajñādṛṣṭiḥ anyā na dṛṣṭiḥ |  jñānaṃ tveṣā cānyā ca | kiyatā sarvajñānasaṃgrahaḥ | daśabhir jñānaiḥ |  samāsena tu 
       
sāsravānāsravaṃ jñānaṃ 
 
tayoḥ punaḥ 
 
ādyaṃ saṃvṛtijñāpakam | 
 
yat sāsravaṃ tat saṃvṛtijñānam | prāyeṇa ghaṭapaṭastrīpuruṣādisaṃvṛtigrahāt |  ajñānasaṃvṛtatvāt ity apare | 
   
anāsravaṃ dvidhā dharmajñānamanvayameva ca || 7.2 || 
 
anāsrvaṃ jñānaṃ dvidhā bhidyate | dharmajñānamanvayajñānaṃ ca |  evagete dve jñāne trīṇi bhavanti |  saṃvṛtijñānaṃ dharmajñānaṃ ca | tatra 
     
sāṃvṛtaṃ sarvaviṣayaṃ 
 
saṃvṛtijñānasya sarvadharmāḥ saṣkṛtāsaṃskṛtā ālambanaṃ saṃbhavataḥ |

dharmajñānasya kāmāvacaraṃ dukhaṃ tatsamudayanirodhapratipakṣāścālambanam |

anvayajñānasya rūpārupyāvacaraṃ duḥkhaṃ tatsamudayanirodhapratipakṣāścālambanam | 
 
te eva satyabhedena catvāri 
 
te eva dharmajñānānvayajñāne satyabhedena punaś catvāri jñānāni bhavanti |  duḥkhasamudayanirodhamārgajñānāni |  tadālambanatvāt | 
     
ete caturvidhe |
anutpādakṣayajñāne
 
 
ete eva dharmajñānānvayajñāne caturvidhe adṛṣṭisvabhāve kṣayajñānamanutpādajñānaṃ cocyate |

duḥkhahetvanvayajñāne 
 
prathamotpanne tu kṣayajñānānutpādajñāne duḥkhasamudayānvayajñāne duḥkhasamudayākārairbhāvāgrikaskandhālambanatvāt |  kim khalu vajropamo ’pi tābhyāmekālamvano ’sti |  yadi duḥkhasamudayālamvano bhavati | atha nirodhamārgālambano naikālambanaḥ | 
     
caturbhyaḥ paracittavit | 
 
vettīti vit jñānam | paracittajñānaṃ caturbhyo jñānebhyo draṣṭavyam |  dharmānvayajñānamārgaḥ saṃvṛtijñānebhyaḥ |  tasya punar ayaṃ niyamaḥ 
     
bhūmyakṣapudgalotkrāntam naṣṭājātaṃ na veti tat || 7.5 || 
 
bhūmyatikrāntaṃ na jānātīti |  adharadhyānabhūmikenottaradhyānabhūmikamindriyātikrāntaṃ na jānāti |  śraddhādhimuktasamayamuktamārgeṇa dṛṣṭiprāptāsamayavimuktārga pudgalotkrāntaṃ na jānāti |  anāgāmyahañcchāvaka pratyekabuddhabuddhamārggaṇāmadhareṇottaraṃ naṣṭājātaṃ na jānāti |  atītānāgataṃ vartamānapara cittacaittaviṣayatvāt |  kiṃ ca bhūyaḥ 
           
na dharmānvayadhīpakṣyamanyo ’nyaṃ 
 
dharmajñānapakṣyaṃ paracittajñānamanvayajñānapakṣyaṃ cittaṃ na jānāti |  anvayajñānapakṣyaṃ ca dharmajñānapakṣyaṃ na jānāti |  kāmadhāturdhvadhātupratikṣālambanatvāt tayoḥ |  darśanamārge paracittajñānaṃ nāsti |  tadālambanaṃ tvasti |  tatra paracittajñānena darjñanamārga jñātukāmaḥ prayogaṃ kṛtvā prathamau

śrāvako vetti khaṅgastrīn sarvānbuddho ’prayogataḥ

śrāvako darśanamārgāt paracittajñānena dvau kṣaṇau jānāti |  duḥkhe dharmajñānakṣāntiṃ dharmajñānaṃ ca |  anvayajñānapakṣālambanasyānyaprayogasādhyatvāt |  yāvac ca sa tatra prayogamāra mate tāvad ayaṃ ṣoḍaśacittamanuprāpto bhavatītyantarā na jānāti |  pratyekabuddhastrīn kṣaṇān |  prathamau ca dvāvaṣṭamaṃ ca samudayānvayajñānaṃ mṛduprayogatvāt |  prathamadvitīyapañcadaśānity apare |  buddhastu sarvāneva darśanamārgakṣaṇānaprayogeṇa jānāti | 
               
atha kṣayajñānānutpādajñānayoḥ ko viśeṣaḥ | 
 
kṣayajñānaṃ hi satyeṣu parijñātādiniścayaḥ |
na parijñeyamity ādiranutpādamatirmatā

kṣayajñānaṃ katamat | duḥkhaṃ me parijñātam iti jānāti |  samudayaḥ prahīṇo nirodhaḥ sākṣātakṛto mārgo bhāvita iti jānāti |  tadupādāya yat jñānaṃ darśanaṃ vidyā buddhirbodhiḥ prajñā āloko ’bhisamayamidam ucyate kṣayajñānam |  anutpādajñānaṃ katamat |  duḥkhaṃ me parijñātaṃ na pounaḥ parijñeyam iti jānāti yāvat mārgo bhāvito na punar bhāvayitavya iti |  tadupādāyeti” vistareṇoktaṃ śāstre |  kathamanāsraveṇa jñānenaivaṃ jānāti |  tatpṛṣṭhalabdhena vyutthita evaṃ jānāti |  atastadviśeṣeṇa tayor viśeṣaḥ |  śāstre jñāpiota iti kāśmīrāḥ |  anāsraveṇāpyevaṃ jānātītyapare darśanavacanaṃ tu bhāṣyākṣepāt |  jpratyakṣavṛttitvādvā |  ata evoktaṃ “yāvat jñānaṃ darśanam api tad” iti |  ityetāni daśa jñānāni bhavanti yaduta dharmajñānamanvayajñānaṃ saṃvṛtijñānaṃ duḥkhajñānaṃ samudayañṇyānaṃ nirodhajñānaṃ mārgajñānaṃ paracittajñānaṃ kṣayajñānamanutpādajñānaṃ ca |  tatra saṃvṛtijñānamekaṃ jñānamekasya ca bhāgaḥ |  dharmajñānamekaṃ jñānaṃ saptānāṃ ca bhāgaḥ |  duḥkhasamudayanirodhamārga kṣayānutpādaparacittajñānānām |  evam anvayajñānam |  duḥkhajñānamekaṃ jñānaṃ caturṇā ca bhāgaḥ |  dharmānvayakṣayānutpādajñānānām | evaṃ samudayanirodhajñāne caturṇāṃ bhāgaḥ |  mārgajñānamekaṃ jñānaṃ pañcānāṃ ca bhāgaḥ | caturṇāmanantaroktānāṃ paracittasya ca |  paracittajñanamekaṃ jñānaṃ caturṇāṃ ca bhāgaḥ | dharmānvayamārga saṃvṛtijñānānām |  kṣayajñānamekaṃ jñānaṃ ṣaṇṇāṃ ca bhāgaḥ | dharmānvayaduḥkhasamudayanirodhamārgajñānānām |  evam anutpādajñānam | 
                                               
kasmāt punar etāni vīṇi santi daśa vyavasthāpyante | 
 
svabhāvapratipakṣānyāmākārākāragocarāt |
prayogakṛtakṛtyatvahetūpacayoto daśa

saptabhiḥ kila kāraṇairdaśa jñānāni vyavasthāpyante |  svabhāvataḥ saṃvṛtijñānamaparamārthajñānatvāt |  pratipakṣato dharmānvayajñāne | kāmathāturdhvadhātupratipakṣatvāt |  ākārato duḥkhasamudayajñāne | ālambanābhedāt |  ākārālambanato nirodhamārgajñāne |  ākārālambanabhedāt | prayogataḥ paracittajñānam | na hi tena caittā na jñāyate |  cittajñānārthe tu prayuktasyābhiniṣpatteḥ paracittajñānamuktam |  kṛtakṛtyataḥ kṣayajñānaṃ kṛtakṛtyasaṃtānotpatteḥ |  prathamataḥ hetūpacayato ’nutpādajñānaṃ sarvānāsravahetukatvād iti | 
                 
sakalasya sakalapratipakṣatvāt kāmadhātupratīpakṣo dharmajñānam ity uktam |  api tu 
   
dharmajñānanirodhe yanmārge vā bhāvanāpathe |
tridhātupratipakṣastat
 
 
nirodhamārgajñāne bhāvanāmārgasaṃgṛhīte tridhātupratipakṣaḥ | 
 
kāmadhātos tu nānvayam || 7.9 || 
 
anvayajñānam tu sarvathā nāsti kāmadhātuporatipakṣaḥ 
 
eṣāṃ daśānāṃ jñānānāṃ 
 
dharmajñānānvayajñānaṃ ṣoḍḍaśākāram 
 
tān purastād upadekṣyāmaḥ | 
 
anyathā |
tathā ca sāṃvṛtaṃ
 
 
saṃvṛtijñānaṃ ṣoḍaśākāramanyathākāraṃ ca sarvadharmāṇāṃ svasāmānyalakṣaṇādigrahaṇāt | 
 
svaiḥ svaiḥ satyākāraiś catuṣṭayam || 7.10 || 
 
duḥkhasamudayanirodhamārga jñānāni svaiḥ svaiḥ satyākāraiḥ pravartanta ityekaikaṃ caturākāraṃ bhavanti | 
 
tathā paramatojñānaṃ nirmalaṃ 
 
anāsravaṃ paracittajñānaṃ tatheva | svasatyākāratvāccuturākāraṃ mārgajñānatvāt | 
 
samalaṃ punaḥ |
jñeyasvalakṣaṇākāraṃ
 
 
sāsravaṃ paracittajñānaṃ jñeyānāṃ cittacaittānāṃ yat svalakṣaṇam tadākārayati |  svalakṣaṇagrāhakatvāt | labhayam api tu 
   
ekaikadravyagocaram || 7.11 || 
 
yadā cittaṃ gṛhlāti na tadā cittānāṃ yadā vedanāṃ na tadā saṃjñāmityevamādi |  yat tarhi bhagavatīktam “sarāgaṃ cittaṃ sarāgaṃ cittam iti yathābhūtaṃ prajānātīty” evamādi |  na tayor dugapadgrahaṇam | vastramalāyugāpadgrahaṇavat |  sarāgaṃ cittam iti dvidhā sarāgatā |  saṃsṛṣṭasarāgatā saṃyoiga sarāgatā ca |  tatra sarāgaṃ saṃprayuktaṃ cittaṃ dvābhyāṃ sarāgaṃ tato ’nyatsāsravaṃ saṃyogasarāgatayā sarāgam |  atra tu sūtre rāgasaṃprayuktaṃ sarāgaṃ rāgapratipakṣī vigatarāgam ity eke |  yadi hi rāgeṇāsaṃprayuktaṃ vigatarāgaṃ syād anyakleśasamprayuktam api syāt |  evaṃ tarhi tadapratipakṣaḥ sāsravaṃ cittamakliṣṭaṃ naiva sarāgaṃ na vigatarāgaṃ syād ityevamādi |  tasmād rāgasaṃprayuktatayā ’pi sarāgaṃ cittamatreṣṭavyamity apare |  evaṃ yāvat samohaṃ vigatamohaṃ ca veditavyam |  saṃkṣiptaṃ kuśalamālambanābhisaṃkṣepāt |  vikṣiptaṃ kliṣṭaṃ vikṣepasaṃprayogāt |  saṃkṣiptaṃ middhasaṃprayuktaṃ vikṣiptamanyata kliṣṭam iti pāścāttyāḥ |  tadetanna varṇayanti | tadeva hi cittaṃ saṃkṣiptavikṣiptaṃ syāt kliṣṭamiddhasaṃprayīgāt |  śāstravirodhaś ca syāt | “saṃkṣiptaṃ cittaṃ yathābhūtaṃ prajānāti |  tajjñānaṃ catvāri jñānāni dharmajñānamanvayajñānaṃ saṃvṛtijñānaṃ mārgajñānam” iti |  līnaṃ cittaṃ kliṣṭaṃ kauśīdyasaṃprayogāt | pragṛhītaṃ kuśalaṃ vīryasaṃprayogāt |  parītāṃ kliṣṭaṃ vyavadānaparīttairniṣevitatvāt |  mahadgataṃ kuśalaṃ tadviparyayāt |  mūlamūlyaparivārānuparivartakavalālpavahutvāc ca |  kliṣṭacittaṃ dvābhyāmakuśalamūlābhyāṃ samulam |  kuśalaṃ tribhiḥ kuśalamūlaiḥ | kliṣṭamalpamūlyamayatna-sādhyatvāt |  kuśalaṃ bhumūlyaṃ vahābhisaṃskārasādhyatvāt |  kliṣṭaṃ tajjātīyānāgatabhāvanā ’bhāvānna mahāparivāraṃ tribhiś ca skandhaiḥ sānuparivartam |  kuśalaṃ tu mahāparivāraṃ caturbhiś ca skandhaiḥ sānuparivartam |  alpabalaṃ khalv api kliṣṭaṃ bahubalaṃ kuśalam |  ekayā hi duḥkhe dharmajñānakṣāntyā daśānuśayātyantasamudghātaḥ kriyate |  tasmād api kliṣṭam parīttaṃ kuśalaṃ mahadgatam | uddhataṃ kliṣṭamauddhatyasaṃprayogāt |  anuddhataṃ kukśalaṃ tatpratipakṣatvāt | evam abyupaśāntṃ vyupaśāntaṃ ca |  asamāhitaṃ kliṣṭaṃ vikṣepasaṃprayogāt |  samāhitaṃ kuśalaṃ tatpratipakṣatvāt |  abhāvitaṃ kliṣṭaṃ pratilambhatiṣevaṇabhāvanābhyāmabhāvitatvāt |  bhāvitaṃ kuśalaṃ tābhyāṃ bhāvitatvāt vimuktaṃ kliṣṭaṃ svabhāvasaṃtānavimuktibhyāmavimuktatvāt |  vimuktaṃ kuśalaṃ tābhayaṃ vimuktatvād iti vaibhāṣikāḥ | evaṃ tu sūtraṃ nānulomitaṃ bhavati |  eṣāṃ ca padānāṃ nārthaviśeṣa ukto bhavati |  sūtra uktaṃ “kathaṃ cittamadhyātmaṃ saṃkṣiptaṃ bhavati |  yaccittam styānamiddhasahagatamadhyātmaṃ saṃnirodhasahagataṃ no tu vipaśyanayā samanvāgatam |  kathaṃ vahirvikṣiptaṃ bhavati |  yaccittaṃ pañcasu kāmaguṇeṣv anuvikṣiptaṃ bhavaty anuvisṛtam” iti |  nanu coktaṃ tadeva cittaṃ saṃkṣiptaṃ syād vikṣiptaṃ ceti |  uktamidamayuktaṃ tūktaṃ viddhasahagatasya kliṣṭasya vikṣiptatvāpratijñānāt |  nanu coktaṃ śāstravirodhaḥ syād iti |  varaṃ śāstravirodho na sūtravirīdhaḥ |  kathameṣāṃ padānāṃ nārthaviśeṣa ukto bhavati |  vikṣiptalilinoddhatāvyupaśāntāsamāhitābhāvitāvimuktānāṃ cittānām abhinnalakṣaṇavacanāt saṃkṣiptapragṛhītādīnāṃ ca |  na vai noktaḥ padānām arthaviśeṣo bhavati |  kliṣṭasāmānye ’pi taddoṣasaṃdarśanāt |  ityapyetat kliṣṭaṃ cittaṃ vikṣiptaṃ līnam iti vistaraḥ |  evaṃ kuśalasyāpi guṇaviśeṣasaṃdarśanādukta evarthaviśeṣo bhavati |  sūtravirodhasyāparihārānnaiṣa eṣāṃ padānām arthaḥ |  yadi ca sūtre tadeva līnaṃ cittaṃ tadevoddhatamityabhipretaṃ syāt idaṃ noktaṃ syāt |  “yasminsamaye līnaṃ cittaṃ bhavati layābhir śaṅka vā akālastasminsamaye prasrabdhisamādhyupekṣāsaṃvodhyaṅgānāṃ bhāvanāyāḥ |  yasminsagaye uddhātaṃ cittaṃ bhavati auddhatyābhiś aṅki vā akālastasminsamaye dharmavicayavīryaprītisaṃvodhyaṅgānāṃ bhāvanāyā” iti |  kiṃ punar vodhyaṅgānāṃ vyagrā bhāvanā |  manasikaraṇaṃ teṣāṃ bhāvaneṣṭā na saṃmukhībhāva ityadoṣa eṣaḥ |  kauśīdyādhikamatra cittaṃ līnam ity uktam |  auddhatyādhikaṃ coddhatamityavirodhaḥ |  tayostu sahabhāvāttadeva cittaṃ līnaṃ tadevoddhatam iti brūmaḥ |  nābhiprayikaṃ vacanaṃ vāryate |  sūtre tu nāyamabhiprāya iti brūmaḥ |  yattūktaṃ “sarvameva rāgasaṃprayuktaṃ cittaṃ sarāgam” iti |  katamac cittaṃ rāgasaṃprayuktam | rāgaprāptisahitaṃ cet |  asāsravam iti sarāgaṃ prāpnoti śaikṣacittam |  rāgālambanaṃ cet | arhato ’pi sāsravaṃ cittaṃ sarāgam iti gṛhlīyāt |  rāgālambanatvāt kathaṃ vā tatsāsravam |  sāmānya kleśālambanatvād iti cet |  evam api samohaṃ gṛhlīyānmohālambanatvāt |  na ca paracittajñānaṃ prāptyālambanaṃ nāpi taccittālambanaṃ rāgālambanam |  tasmān na rāgasaṃprayogātsarāgaṃ cittamatreṣṭam |  kiṃ tarhi |  rāgasaṃprayuktaṃ cittaṃ sarāgamasaṃprayuktaṃ vigatarāgam iti sūtrābhigrāyo dṛśyate |  yat tūktaṃ “vigatarāgamasya taccittaṃ bhavati vigatadveṣaṃ vigatamohamanāvarttikadharmi kāmabhave rūpabhave ārupyabhave” iti |  tatra tatpraptivigamaṃ saṃdhāyoktam |  nanu coktam anyakleśasaṃprayuktam api cittaṃ rāgaviprayuktatvād vigatarāgaṃ syād ” iti |  etenābhisaṃdhinā na doṣaḥ |  na tu tadvigatarāgam iti kṛtvā gṛhyate |  kiṃ tarhi | sadveṣaṃ samohamityevamādi |  alaṃ prasaṅgena siddhānto varṇyatām |

kiṃ paracittajñānaṃ paracittasyākāramālambanaṃ vā gṛhlāti |  na gṛhlāti ākāralambananirapekṣaṃṃ hi tadraktamidaṃ cittam iti jānāti natvamuṣmin rupe raktam iti jānāti |  anyathā hi tadrūpālambanam api syāt tadālambanaṃ ca paracittaṃ gṛhlataḥ svabhāvagrahaṇaṃ prāpnuyāt |  sarvaṃ ca paracittajñānaṃ dravyasvalakṣaṇacittacaittapratyutpannaparasaṃtatikāmarūpapratisaṃyuktāpratisaṃyuktaviṣayaṃ darśanamārgapratiṣiddhaṃ bhāvanāmārga upalabhyate |  śūnyatā ’nimittasamādhi viprayuktaṃ kṣayānutpādajñānāsaṃgṛhītamānantaryamārga pratiṣiddhaṃ ca vedittavyam |  uktaṃ paracittajñānam | 
           
śeṣe caturdaśākāre śūnyānātmavivarjite | 
 
kṣayānutpādajñāne śeṣe te caturdaśākāre śūnyānātmakārau varjayitvā |  pāramārthikayor api saṃvṛtibhajanāt śīṇā me jātirnāparamasmādbhavaṃ prajānāmīti tadvalānuvyavahārataḥ | 
   
kim anāsravaḥ svalakṣaṇākāro ’styatha na | kāśmīrāṇāṃ tāvat 
 
nāmalaḥ ṣoḍaśabhyo ’nya ākāraḥ 
 
nāsty anāsravākāraḥ ṣoḍaśākāranirmuktaḥ | 
 
anye ’sti śāstrataḥ || 7.12 ||

kiṃ punaḥ śeṣam |  kāmavairāgye navamo vimuktimārgaḥ saptabhūmivairāgyābhijñāvyavakīrṇabhāviteṣu vimuktimārgaḥ akopyaprativedho ’ṣṭau vimuktimārgāḥ sarve ca vītarāgasya prayogaviśeṣamārgāḥ |  teṣu sarveṣv aṣṭau jñānāni bhāvyante |  anāgatabhāvanayā kṣayānutpādajñāne hitvā | śaikṣasyaivam |  aśaikṣasya punar abhijñādiprayogavimuktaviśeṣamārgeṣu nava jñānāni daśa vā |  abhijñāvyavakīrṇabhāvitānantaryavimuktimārgeṣu tvaṣṭau nava vā dvayostvabhhijñāvimuktimārgayoravyākṛtatvānna kicidanāgate bhāvyate |  pṛthagjanasya tu kāmatridhyānavairāgyāntyavimuktimārgeṣu dhyānabhūmikeṣu ca prayogābhijñātrayavimuktimārgāpramāṇādiguṇābhinirhāreṣu saṃvṛtijñānamanāgataṃ bhāvyate paracittajñānaṃ cānyatra nirvedhabhāgīyebhyaḥ |  teṣu hi paracittajñānaṃ na bhāvyate | darśanamārgaparivāratvāt |  anyatrāpūrvamārgalābhe saṃvāṛtijñānamevānāgataṃ bhāvyate | 
                 
atha kasmin mārge katibhūmikaṃ jñānaṃ bhāvyate |  saṃvṛtijñānaṃ tāvad yadbhūmiko mārgo yāṃ ca prathamato bhūmi labhate tadbhūmikamanāgataṃ bhāvyate |  anāsravaṃ tu na kevalaṃ yadbhūmiko mārgaḥ |  kiṃ tarhi | 
       
yad vairāgyāya yal lābhas tatra cādhaś ca bhāvyate | 
 
yadbhūmivairāgyāyāpi hi dvividho ’pi mārgo bhavati prayogamārgādiḥ yāṃ ca bhūmi labhate vairāgyatastdbhūmikānyadhobhūmikāni cānāsravāṇi jñānāni bhāvanāṃ gacchanti | 
 
sāsravāś ca kṣayajñāne 
 
kṣayajñāne tu sarvabhūmikāḥ sāsravā api guṇāḥ kṣayajñānalābhikā bhāvanāṃ gacchanti a4ubhānāpānasmṛtismṛtyupasthānāpramāṇavimokṣādayaḥ rajjucchedāducchvasantīva peḍāsādharmyeṇa |  svacittādhirājyaprāptasya prāptibhiḥ sarvakuśaladharmapratyudgamanādādhirājyaporaptau prābhṛtena viṣayapratyudgamanavat |  yat kicillabhyate tatsarva bhāvyate | yadapūrva labhyate tat bhāvyate | 
     
labdhapūrva na bhāvyate || 7.26 || 
 
yad vihīnaṃ punar labhyate na tat bhāvyate | bhāvitotsṛṣṭatvāt |

pratilambhaniṣevaṇabhāvane kujñalasaṃskṛtānāṃ dharmāṇām anāgatānām ekā pratyutpannānām ubhe |  pratipakṣavinirdhāvanabhāvane sāsravāṇāṃ dharmāṇām |  tadevaṃ kuśalasāsravāṇāṃ catasro bhāvanā bhavanti |  anāsravāṇāṃ dve kliṣṭāvyākṛtānāṃ ca |  bāhyābhidharmikāṇāṃ ṣaṭ bhāvnāḥ |  etāś catasraḥ saṃvarabhāvanā vibhāvana ca |  indriyāṇāṃ pūrvī kāyasyottarā |  “ṣaḍigānīndriyāṇi sudāntāni yāvat subhāvitāni tathā santyasminkāye kleśā” iti vistaraḥ |  te tu pratipakṣanirdhāvabhāvanāntarbhūte iti kāśmīrāḥ |  sāmānyena sarveṣāṃ pudgalānāṃ kṣayajñāne guṇabhāvanoktā |

ye buddhasyaiva bhagavataḥ kṣayajñāne bhāvanāṃ gacchanti nānyasya | katame ’ṣṭādaśa |  daśa balāni catvāri vaiśāradyāni trīṇi smṛtyupasthānāni mahākaruṇā ca |  asādhāraṇaṃ hy āveṇikam ity ucyate |  tatra 
       
sthānāsthāne daśa jñānāni

yasmād asya sarvatra jñeye jñānabhavyāhataṃ vartate tasmād valam |  aneṣāṃ tu vyāhanyate |  jñānaṃ vavacidicchatām apy apravṛtter iti nārhati tadbalādhyāṃ labdhum |  sthaviraśāriputreṇa pravrajyāpekṣapuruṣapratyākhyānaṃ śyenopadrutasya pakṣiṇa upapattyādīparyantājñānaṃ cātrodāharaṇam |  evaṃ tāvad avyāhatajñānatvād buddhānāṃ jñeyavadanantaṃ mānasaṃ balam | 
         
nārāyaṇabalaṃ kāye 
 
kāye punar buddhasya nārāyaṇaṃ balaṃ varṇayati

sandhau sandhau nārāyaṇabalamity apare |  mānasavat kāyikamapyasyāna taṃ balam iti bhadantaḥ |  anyathā hy ananatajñānabalasahiṣṇu naṃ syād iti |  nāgagrandhiśaṅkalāśaṅkusaṃdhayaś ca budhapratyekabuddhacakravartinaḥ | 
       
kiṃ punar nārāyaṇasya balasya pramāṇam |

yaddaśānāṃ prākṛtahastināṃ balaṃ tadekasya gandhahastinaḥ |  evaṃ mahānagnapraskandivarāṅgacānūranārāyaṇānāṃ daśottaravṛddhirvattavyā |  prākṛtagandhahastimahānagnapraskandināṃ daśāttaravṛddhacyārdhanārāyaṇaṃ balaṃ tat dviguṇaṃ nārāyaṇa mity apare |  yathā tu vahutara tathā yujyate | 
       
spraṣṭavyāyatanaṃ ca tat || 7.31 || 
 
taccatatkāyikaṃ balaṃ sarvasyaiva spraṣṭavyāyatanasvabhāvaṃ mahābhūtaviśeṣa eva |  upādāyarūpaṃ saptabhyo ’rthāntaramity apare | uktāni valāni | 
   
vaiśāradhyaṃ caturdhā tu 
 
yathāsūtram | etāni punaś catvāri vaiśāradyāni 
 
yathādyadaśame bale |
dvitīyasaptame caiva |
 
 
yathā sthānāsthānajñānabalamevaṃ samyaksaṃbuddhasya vata me sate ityetadvaiśāradyaṃ veditavyam |  yathāsravakṣayajñānabalamevaṃ kṣīṇāsravasya vata me sata ityetadvaiśāradyam |  yathā karmasvakajñānavalamevaṃ ye vā punar mayā śrāvakāṇām antarāyikā dharmā ādhyātā ityetadvaiśāradyam |  yathā sarvatragāminī pratipajjñānaṃ valamevaṃ yo va punar mayā śrāvakāṇāṃ niryāṇāya mārga ādhyāta ityetadvaiśāradyaṃ veditavyam |  kathaṃ na jñānameva vaiśārdyam |  nirbhayatā hi vaiśāradyam |  ebhiś ca nirbhayo bhavati |  jñānakṛtaṃ vaiśāradyaṃ yujyate | na jñānameva | 
               
trīṇi smṛtyupasthānāni parṣadbhedāt bhavanti yathāsūtram | tattvetat 
 
smṛtiprajñātmakaṃ trayam || 7.32 || 
 
smṛtisaṃprajñānasvabhāvānyetāni trīṇi smṛtyupasthānāni |  yadā śrāvakasyāpi śuśrūṣamāṇāśuśrūpamāṇobhayeṣvānandī na bhavaty āghāto vā | 
   
kasmād ete āveṇikā buddhadharmā ucyante | savāsanaprahāṇāt |  atha vā yasya śrāvakās tasya cacchūśrūṣamāṇāśuśrūṣamāṇobhayeṣu saumanasyādyavakāśaḥ sutarāṃ na tathā ’nyasyeti tasyaiva tān utpādād āścaryaṃ vyavasthāpyate nānyasyeti |  mahākaruṇedānīṃ vaktavyā | seyam ucyate | 
     
mahākṛpā saṃvṛtidhīḥ 
 
saṃvṛtijñānātmikā mahākaruṇā |  anyathā hi na sarvasattvālambanā sidhyet na ca triduḥkhatākārā |  karuṇāvat | kasmād iyaṃ mahākaruṇety ucyate | 
     
saṃbhārākāragocaraiḥ |
samatvād ādhimātryāc ca
 
 
sabhāreṇa mahāpuṇyajñānasaṃbhārasamudāgamāt | ākāreṇa triduḥkhatākaraṇāt |  ālambanena tridhātukālambanāt | samatyena sarvasattveṣu samavṛttitvāt |  abhimātratvena sarvasttveṣu samavṛttitvāt |  adhimātratvena tato ’dhimātratarābhāvāt | 
       
karuṇāmahākaruṇayoḥ kiṃ nānākaraṇam | 
 
nānākaraṇamaṣṭdhā || 7.33 || 
 
svabhāvato ’dveṣāmohasvabhāvatvāt |  ākārata ekatriduḥkhatākāratvāt |  ālambanata ekatridhātvālambanatvāt |  bhūmitaś caturdhyānacaturthadhyānabhūmikatvāt |  saṃtānataḥ śrāvakādibuddhasaṃtānajatvāt |  lābhataḥ kāmadhātubhavāgravairāgyalabhyatvāt |  aparitrāṇaparitrāṇataḥ atulyakaruṇāyanāc ca | 
             
kiṃ punaḥ sarve buddhāḥ sarvaprakārasāmānyā bhavanti | nety āha | 
 
saṃbhāradharmakāyābhyāṃ jagataś cārthacaryayā |
samatā sarvabuddhānāṃ nāyurjātipramāṇataḥ

tribhiḥ kāraṇaiḥ sāmyaṃ sarvabuddhānām |  sarvapuṇyajñānasaṃbhārasamudāgamataḥ dharmakāyapariniṣpattitaḥ arthacaryayā ca lokasya |  āyurjātigotrapramāṇakṛtastu bhedo bhavati |  cirālpatarajīvanāt kṣatriyavrāhmaṇajātibhedāt kāśyapagautamādigotrabhedāt alpānalpapramāṇabhedāc ca yathakālam iti |  etāmeva ca trividhāṃ saṃpadaṃ manasikurvāṇena viduṣā śakyaṃ buddhānāṃ bhagavatāmantike tīvraprema gauravaṃ cotpādayituṃ yaduta hetusaṃpadaṃ phalasaṃpadam upakārasaṃpadaṃ ca |  tatra caturdhā hetusaṃpat |  sarvapuṇyajñānasaṃbhārābhyāso dīrghakālābhyāso nirantarābhyāsaḥ satkṛtyābhyāsaś ca |  caturvidhā phalasaṃpat |  jñānasaṃpat prahāṇasaṃpat prabhāvasaṃpadrūpakayasaṃpacva | caturvidhopakārasaṃpat |  apāyatrayasaṃsāraduḥkhātyantanirmokṣasaṃpat yānatrayasugati pratiṣṭhāpanasaṃpadvā |  jñānasaṃpat punaś caturvidhā |  anupadiṣṭajñānaṃ sarvatrajñāna sarvathājñānamayatnajñānaṃ ca |  caturvidhā prahāṇasaṃpat |  sarvakleśaprahāṇam atyantaprahāṇaṃ savāsanaprahāṇaṃ sarvasamādhisamāpattyāvaraṇaprahāṇaṃ ca caturvidhā prabhāvasaṃpat |  bāhyaviṣayanirmāṇapariṇāmanā dhiṣṭhānavaśityasaṃpat āyurutptargādhiṣṭhānavaśitvasaṃpat āvṛtākāśadūrakṣīpragamanālpavahutvapraveśana vaśitvasaṃpat vividhanijāś caryadharmasaṃpac ca |  caturvidhā rūpakāyasaṃpat |  lakṣaṇasaṃpat anuvyañjanasaṃpat balasaṃpat vajrasārāsthisaṃpat |  ity etat sāmāsikaṃ buddhānāṃ māhātmyam | anantaprabhedaṃ tu tadbhidyamānaṃ jāyate |  tacca punar buddhā eva sakalaṃ jñātuṃ baktuṃ ca samarthāḥ yadyanekāsaṃkhyeyaṃ kalpaṃ jīvitamadhitiṣṭheyuḥ |  evaṃ ca tāvad anantādbhūtaguṇajñānaprabhāvopakāramāharatnākarāstathāgatāḥ |  atha ca punar bālāḥ svaguṇadāridracyahatādhimokṣāḥ śruṇvanto ’pi tāṃ tādṛśīṃ guṇasamṛddhiṃ buddhaṃ ca nādriyante tasya ca dharmam |  paṇḍitāstu punar majjābhir api taṃ bhagavantam abhiprapadyante tasya ca dharmam |  te he śraddhāmātrakeṇāpyekāntikenābhiprasannā aniyatavipākānāṃ pāpānāṃ rāśīnabhibhūya daivīṃ mānuṣīṃ ca śriyamabhibhūya nirvāṇaparāyaṇāḥ saṃvartante |  ata eva tathāgatā anuttaraṃ puṇyakṣetramucyante |  avandhyeṣṭhaporakṛṣṭāśusvantaphalatvāt | uktaṃ hi bhagavatā 
                                                 
“ye ’nyān api jine kārānkariṣyanti vināyake |
vicitraṃ svargamāgamya te lapsyante ’mṛtaṃ padam” iti | 
 
ime tāvad aṣṭādaśa buddhānām āveṇikā dharmā ucyante || 
 
śiṣyasādhāraṇā anye dharmāḥ 
 
śrāvakasādhāraṇāstvanye guṇā buddhānām | 
 
kecit pṛthagjanaiḥ | 
 
ke punas ta iti yathāyogam 
 
araṇāpraṇidhijñānapratisaṃvidguṇādayaḥ || 7.35 || 
 
araṇapraṇidhijñānapratisaṃvidabhijñādhyānārupyāṃpramāṇavimokṣābhibhvāyatanakṛtsnāyatanādayaḥ |  tatrāraṇā nāma kaścid evārhan kleśaprabhavaṃ sattvānāṃ duḥkhaṃ viditvātmānaṃ ca dakṣiṇīyaviśeṣaṃ pareṣāṃ tadālambanaṃ kleśotpādaṃ parihartukāmastādṛśaṃ jñānamutpādayati bhena pareṣāṃ sarvathā ’pi raṇaṃ notpādayati |  na kasyacittadālambano rāga utpadyate dveṣo māno vā |  naiṣā pratipat kañcideva raṇayatītyaraṇā | sā punar eṣā 
       
saṃvṛtijñānamaraṇā 
 
ayamasyā svabhāvaḥ | 
 
dhyāne ’ntye 
 
caturthadhyāna bhūmikā sukhapratipadāmagratvāt | 
 
akopyadharmaṇaḥ | 
 
nānyasyārhataḥ |  anyo hi svasaṃtānād api kadācit kleśaraṇaṃ parihartu na śaknoti |

manuṣyeṣvevotpadyate triṣu dvīpeṣu | 
 
anutpannakāmāptasavastukleśagocarāḥ || 7.36 || 
 
anāgatāḥ kāmāvacarāḥ savastukāḥ kleśāḥ asyā ālambanaṃ nāpareṣāṃ kleśa udapādītyevaṃ pravṛttatvāt |  avastukāstu kleśā na śakyāḥ parihartuṃ sarvatragāṇāṃ sakalasvabhūmyālambanatvāt |  yathā cāraṇoktā 
     
tathaiva praṇidhijñānaṃ 
 
tad api hi saṃvṛtijñānaṃ dhyāne ’ntye ’kopyadharmaṇaḥ manuṣyāśrayaṃ ca 
 
sarvālambaṃ tu tat 
 
sarvadharmālambanaṃ tu praṇidhijñānamityeva viśeṣaḥ |  ārupyāstu na sākṣāt prāṇidhijñānena jñāyante |  kiṃ tarhi | niṣpannacaritaviśeṣāt |  karṣakanidarśanaṃ cātreti vaibhāṣikāḥ |  praṇidhipūrvakaṃ jñānaṃ praṇidhijñānaṃ yad dhi praṇidhāya prāntakoṭikaṃ caturtha dhyānaṃ samāpadyate |  idaṃ jānīyām iti tadyathābhūtaṃ jānāti | sarvastatsamādhiviṣayaḥ

dharmārthayorniruktau ca pratibhāne ca saṃvidaḥ

catasro hi pratisaṃvidaḥ |  dharmapratisaṃvidarthapratisaṃvinniruktipratisaṃvitpratibhānapratisaṃvicca |  tā api dharmārthaniruktipratibhānapratisaṃvidastathaiva yathā ’raṇā |  kimāsāṃ tathaiva akopyadharmamanuṣyāśrayatvam |  ālambanabhūmisvabhāvaviśeṣastvāsāṃ pṛthagucyate | 
         
tisro nāmathavāgjñānamavivartya yathākramam | 
 
nāmapadavyañjanakāyeṣv arthavācitā avivartyajñānaṃ dharmāthaṃniruktipratisaṃvido yathākramam | 
 
caturthīyuktomuktābhilāpamārgavaśitvayoḥ || 7.38 || 
 
avivartyaṃ jñānam iti vartate |  yuktamutābhilāpitāyāṃ samādhivaśisaṃprakyāne cāvivartyaṃ jñānaṃ pratibhānasaṃvit | 
   
vāṅmārgālambanā cāsau 
 
vāk ca mārgaś ca tasyāḥ ālmvanam | 
 
nava jñānāni 
 
navajñānasvabhāvā pratibhānapratisaṃvidanyatra nirodhajñānāt | 
 
sarvabhūḥ | 
 
sarvabhūmikā cāsau kāmadhātau yāvat bhavāgre vāṅmārgayoranyatarālambanāt | 
 
daśa ṣaḍvā ’rthasaṃvit 
 
arthapratibhānasaṃvit sarvadharmāśccedarthā daśa jñānāni |  nirvāṇaṃ cedarthaḥ ṣaṭ jñānāni |  dharmānvayanirodhakṣayānutpādasaṃvṛtijñānāni | 
     
sā sarvatra 
 
sā punar eṣā ’rthapratisaṃvit sarvabhūmikā | 
 
anye tu sāṃvṛtam || 7.39 || 
 
anye tu dve dharmaniruktipratisavidau saṃvṛtijñānasvabhāve nāmakāyādivāgālambanasvabhāvatvāt | 
 
kāmadhyāneṣu dharme vit 
 
dharmapratisaṃvit pañcabhūmikā kāmadhātucaturthadhyānasaṃgṛhītā ūrdhvaṃ nāmakāyābhāvāt | 
 
vāci prathamakāmayoḥ | 
 
vāṅniruktir ity eko ’rthaḥ |  niruktipratisaṃvitkāmadhātuprathamadhyānabhūmikā ūrdhvaṃ vitarkābhāvāt |  prajñaptau tu pratisaṃvidāmeva nirdeśaḥ |  “padavyañjane tasyaivarthe tasyaikadvivahustrīpuruṣādyadhivacane tasyāsaktatāyāmavivartyajñānaṃ dharmāvipratisaṃvida” ityata evāsāṃ kramasiddhiḥ |  nirvacanaṃ niruktiḥ |  yathā rupyate tasmād rūpamityevamādi |  uttarottarapratibhā pratibhānamity apare |  āsāṃ ca kila pratisaṃvidāṃ gaṇitaṃ buddhavacanaṃ śabdavaidyā hetuvidyā ca pūrvaprayogo yathākramam |  nāpy eteṣv akṛtakauśalastā utpādayituṃ śaknotīti |  buddhavacanameva tu sarvāsāṃ prayogaṃ varṇayanti |  yasya caikā tasyāvaśyaṃ catasraḥ pratisaṃvidī bhavanti | 
                     
vikalābhir na tallābhī 
 
na hi vikalābhistābhiḥ pratisaṃvillābhī bhavati | 
 
ye caita upadiṣṭā araṇādayo guṇāḥ | 
 
ṣaḍete prāṇtakoṭikāḥ || 7.40 || 
 
prāntakoṭikadhyānavalenaiṣāṃ lābhaḥ | 
 
tatṣaḍivadhaṃ 
 
tad api prāntakoṭikaṃ caturtha dhyānaṃ ṣaḍātmakam |  araṇāpraṇidhijñānaṃ tisraḥ pratisaṃvidaḥ |  tad eva prantakoṭikam |  niruktipratisaṃvidastadvalena lābho na tu sā caturthadhyānabhūmikā | 
       
kiṃ punar idaṃ prāntakoṭikaṃ nāma |  dhyānamantyaṃ caturthaṃ dhyānam | 
   
sarvabhūmyanulomitam |

pañcābhijñāḥ caturthadhyānabhūmikāḥ | kasmād ārupyabhūmikā na santi |  tisrastāvanna santi |  rūpālambanatvāt |  cetaḥparyāyābhhijñāpi nāsti rūpatīrthābhiniṣpādyatvāt |  pūrvanivāsasmṛtirapyanupūrvāvasthāntaramaraṇābhiniṣpatteḥ |  sthānagotrādyālambanatvāc ca |  paracittaṃ hi jñātukāma ātmanaḥ kāyacittayor nimittamudgṛhlāti |  kīdṛśe ’pi me kāye kīdṛśaṃ cittam bhavaty evaṃ pareṣām apy ābhujataścittajñānādabhiniṣpannā bhavati |  abhiniṣpannāyāmabhijñāyāṃ rūpanirapekṣo jānāti |  pūrvanivāsaṃ samanusmartukāmaḥ samanantaraniruddhamanovijñāno nimittamudgṛhya tatsamanantaraprātilomyenāvasthāntarāṇi manasikaroti |  yāvat saṃdhicittam |  tato ’ntarābhavasyaikakṣaṇaṃ maraṇe ’pi niṣpanno bhavati |  evaṃ parasyāpi smarati |  abhiniṣpannāyāṃ vilaṅghyāpi smaraṇam |  anubhūtapūrvasyaiva smaraṇam |  śuddhāvāsānāṃ katham smaraṇam | śravaṇenānubhūtatvāt |  ārupyacyutasyehopapannasya parasaṃtatyadhiṣṭhānenotpādanam |  anyeṣāṃ svasaṃtatyadhiṣṭhānena |  ṛddhyādīnāṃ tu laghatvaśabdālokamanasikaraṇaṃ prayogaḥ |  tāḥ punar etāḥ pañcābhijñāḥ

yadbhūmikā ṛddhacyabhhijñā bhavati tāṃ bhūmi tayā gacchati |  nirmiṇoti vā adharāṃ noktarām |  evaṃ divyaśrotrābhijñayā svabhūmikameva śabdaṃ śṛṇotyadharabhūmikaṃ vā nordhvabhūmikam |  cetaḥ paryāyābhijñayā nordhvabhūmikaṃ cittaṃ jānāti |  pūrvanivāsānusmṛtyā na smarati |  cyutopapādābhijñayā na paśyati |  ata evārupyabhumikaṃ cittaṃ cetaḥparyāyapūrvanivāsabhijñābhyāṃ na gṛhlātyurdhvabhūmikatvāt |

labhyā ucitāstu virāgataḥ | 
 
janmāntarābhyastā abhijñā vairāgyato labhyante vaiśeṣikyaḥ prayogataḥ |  sarvāsāṃ tu prayogeṇotpādanam |

cetaḥparyāyābhijñā trīṇi vedanācittadharmasmṛtyupasthānāni |  cittacaittālambanatvāt | 
   
ādyaṃ śrotrardvivakṣuṣi || 7.44 || 
 
abhijñeti vartate |  ṛddhidivyaśrotradivyacakṣurabhijñā ādyaṃ smṛtyupasthānam ity arthaḥ |  rūpālambanatvāt | ṛddhiś caturbāhyāyatanālambanā ’nyatra śabdāt |  divyaśrotracakṣurabhijñe śabdarūpāyatanālambane |  kathaṃ tarhi “cyutopapādajñānenaiva jānāti amī bhavantaḥ sattvāḥ kāyaduścaritena samanvāgatāḥ” ity evam ādi |  na tattena jānāti |  abhijñāparivārajñānaṃ tu tadanyadāryāṇām utpadyate yenaivaṃ jānanti |  anirdhāraṇāccheṣe catuḥsmṛtyupasthānasvabhāve iti siddham | 
               
avyākṛte śrotracakṣurabhijñe itarāḥ śubhāḥ | 
 
divyacakṣuḥśrotrābhijñe avyākṛte | te punaś cakṣuḥśrotravijñānasaṃprayuktaprajñe |  kathaṃ tarhi te caturdhyānabhūmike sidhyataḥ | āśrayavaśena tadbhūminirdeśāt |  tadāśraye hi cakṣuḥśrotre caturdhyānabhūmike |  ānantaryamārgavaśena vā |  anyāś catasraḥ kuśalāḥ |  yat tarhi prakaraṇeṣūktam “abhijñā katamā | kuśalā prajñeti” |  pradhānika eṣa nirdeśo vāhuliko vā |  āsāṃ cābhijñānāṃ 
               
tisro vidyāḥ 
 
pūrvanivāsacyutyupapādāsravakṣayajñānasākṣātkriyāstisraḥ aśaikṣyo vidyā ucyante |  kasmād etā eva nānyāḥ | 
   
avidyāyāḥ pūrvāntādau nivarttanāt || 7.45 || 
 
etā hi pūrvāparāntamadhyasaṃmohaṃ vyāvartayanti yathākramam | āsāṃ paramārthena 
 
aśaikṣyantyā 
 
āsravakṣayajñānasākṣātkriyaivāśaikṣī vidyā | 
 
tadākhye dve tatsaṃtānasamudbhavāt | 
 
anye dve aśaikṣyasaṃtānasaṃbhūtatvād aśaikṣyāvucyete | naiva tu te śaikṣyo nāśaikṣyau |  kiṃ punar ete abhijñe śaikṣyasya nocyete |  yataḥ śaikṣyau vidye nocyete | 
     
iṣṭe śaikṣsya nokte tu vidye sāvidyasaṃtateḥ || 7.46 || 
 
na hi sāvidyasaṃtāne vidyāvyavasthānaṃ yujyate | punar apy avidyābhibhavāt |  āsāṃ cābhijñānām

śrāvakapratyekabuddhānāṃ śarīravāhinī ca gatiḥ | pakṣivatkrameṇa śarīravāhanāt |  ādhimokṣikī ca dūrasyāsannādhimokṣeṇāśugamanāt | nirmāṇaṃ punar dvividham |  kāmāvacaraṃ rūpāvacaraṃ ca | tatra tāvat 
     
kāmāptaṃ nirmitaṃ bāhyaṃ caturāyatanaṃ 
 
kāmāvacaraṃ nirmāṇaṃ rūparasagandhaspraṣṭavyāyatanasvabhāvam | tat punar

svaparaśarīrasaṃbaddham | 
 
rūpāptaṃ dve tu 
 
rūpāvacaranirmāṇaṃ dve rūpaspraṣṭavyāyatane | tatra gandharasābhāvāt |  tad api dvividhaṃ tathaiva |  kāmadhātāvidaṃ caturvidhaṃ nirmāṇamevaṃ rūpadhātau-ityaṣṭavidhaṃ samāsato nirmāṇam |  kathaṃ rūpadhātūpapannasya kāmāvacaranirmāṇe gandharasābhyāṃ na samanvāgamo bhavati |  vastrābharaṇavanna samanvāgamaḥ |  dvacyāyātanaṃ nirmiṇotītyapare |  kiṃ khalv abhijñayaiva nirmāṇaṃ nirmīyate | nety ucyate | kiṃ tarhi |  abhijñāphalaiḥ |

yathākramaṃ dhyānaphalaṃ dve yāvat pañca | 
 
prathamadhyānaphalaṃ dve kāmadhātuprathamadhyānabhūmike nirmāṇacitte |  dvitīyadhyānaphalaṃ trīṇi kāmadhātuprathamadvitīyadhyānabhūmikāni |  evaṃ tṛtīyacaturthadhyānabhūmikāni catvāri pañca ca yojyāni |  svabhūmikādharabhūmikaṃ nirmāṇacittaṃ dhyānaphalaṃ veditavyam | 
       
nordhvajam | 
 
nordhvabhūmikaṃ nirmāṇacittamadharadhyānaphalamasti |  dvitīyādidhyānaphalaṃ kāmāvacaraṃ nirmāṇaṃ prathamadhyānabhūmikādgatito viśiṣyate | 
   
tallabho dhyānavat 
 
teṣāṃ ca nirmāṇacittānāṃ dhyānavallābhaḥ |  ki khalu nirmāṇacittādeva syāt vyutthānam |  nāsty etat | yasmād utpadyate | 
     
śuddhāt tatsvataś ca 
 
śuddhakāddhacyānādantaraṃ nirmāṇacittamutpadyate nirmāṇacittadvā nānyataḥ | 
 
tato ’pi te || 7.50 || 
 
nirmāṇacittād api śuddhakaṃ dhyānaṃ nirmāṇacittaṃ cotpadyate nānyat |  na hi samādhiphalasthitasvāpraviśya punaḥ samādhiṃ tasmāt vyutthānamasti |  sarvasya ca nirmitasya 
     
svabhūmikena nirmāṇaṃ 
 
nānyabhūmikena nirmāṇacittenānyabhūmikaṃ nirmāṇaṃ nirmīyate | 
 
bhāṣaṇaṃ tv adhareṇa ca | 
 
svabhūmikena ceti caśabdaḥ |  kāmadhātuprathamadhyānabhūmiko hi nirmitaḥ svabhūmikenaiva cittena bhāṣyate |  ūrdhvabhūmikastu prathamadhyānabhūmikena |  ūrdhvaṃ vijñaptisamutthāpakābhāvāt |  vahūnāṃ nirmitānāṃ bhāṣaṇaṃ 
         
nirmātraiva sahāśāstuḥ 
 
buddhādanyasya nirmāṇaṃ nirmātrā saha bhāṣate |  yadā ca vahavo nirmitā bhavanti tadā yugapat bhāṣante | 
   
“ekasya bhāṣamāṇasya bhāṣante saha nirmitāḥ |
ekasya tūṣṇīṃbhūtasya sarvetūṣṇīṃ bhavanti ta” iti gāthā | 
 
buddhasya pūrva paścād vā yathecchaṃ nirmitā bhāṣante |  yadā bhāṣaṇacittaṃ tadā nirmāṇacittābhāvo nirmāṇacittābhāvānnirmitābhāva iti kathamenaṃ bhāṣayanti | 
   
adhiṣṭhāyānyavarttanāt || 7.51 || 
 
nirmāṇamadhiṣṭhāyāvasthānakāmatayā ’nyena manasā vācaṃ pravartayanti |  kiṃ jīvita evādhiṣṭhānamanuvartate atha mṛtaścāpi | 
   
mṛtasyāpy asty adhiṣṭhānaṃ 
 
āryamahākaśyapādhiṣṭhānena tadasthisaṃkalāvasthānāt | tattu 
 
nāsthirasya 
 
asthirasya tu bhāvasya nāsty adhiṣṭhānam | āryakāśyapena māṃsādīnām adhiṣṭhānāt | 
 
apare tu na | 
 
apare punar āhur nāsti mṛtasyādhiṣṭhānam |  asthiśaṅkalāvasthānaṃ tu devatānubhāvāditi |  kimekena cittenaikameva nirmita nirmiṇoti | 
     
ādāvekamanekena jitāyāṃ tu viparyayāt || 7.52 || 
 
ādita ekaṃ nirmitamanekena nirmāṇacittena nirmiṇoti |  jitāyāṃ tvabhijñāyāmekena cittenānekaṃ nirmiṇoti yāvannirmātumiṣṭaṃ bhavati |  atha kiṃ sarvanirmāṇacittamavyākṛtaṃ bhavati | 
     
avyākṛtaṃ bhāvanājaṃ 
 
yadbhāvanāphalaṃ tadavaśyamavyākṛtaṃ bhavati | 
 
trividhaṃ tūpapattijam | 
 
upapattipratilambhikaṃ tu nirmāṇacittaṃ kuśalākuśalamavyākṛtaṃ bhavati devanāgapiśācādīnām |  tatkṛtaṃ ca svaparaśarīranirmāṇaṃ navāyatanikaṃ bhavaty aśabdarupyāyatanatvād indriyāvinirbhūtatvāt |  na tv indriyaṃ nirmīyate |  kimeṣaiva dvividharddhibhāvanāmayī copapattilābhikā ca |  eṣā ca dvividhā 
         
ṛddhirmantrauṣadhābhyāṃ ca karmajā ceti pañcadhā || 7.53 || 
 
samāstaḥ pañcavidhāmṛddhhiṃ varṇayanti |  bhāvanāphalam upapattilābhikaṃ mantrajāmauṣadhajāṃ karmajāṃ ca |  yathā māndhāturantarābhavikānāṃ ca | 
     
yad idaṃ divyaśrotram uktaṃ cakṣuś ca |  kim ete divye eva āhosvit divye eva divye |  yathā bodhisattvacakravartigṛhapatiratnānām | 
     
divyaśrotrākṣiṇī 
 
yasmāt te 
 
rūpaprasādau dhyānabhūmikau | 
 
dhyānasamāpannasya śabdālokābhogaprayogeṇa dhyānabhūmikāni bhūtānyupādāya rūpaprasādau nirvartete cakṣuḥśrotrasāmantake rūpaśabdyordarśanaśravaṇahetū iti dhyānabhūmikatvāt divye eva te cakṣuḥśrotre |  te ca punaḥ 
   
sabhāgāvikale nityaṃ dūrasūkṣmādigocare || 7.54 || 
 
nāsti divyaṃ cakṣuḥ śrotraṃ ca tatsabhāgaṃ nityaṃ vijñānasahitatvāt nāpi vikalaṃ kāṇavibrāntābhāvāt |  rūpāvacarasattvavat |  dūrasūkṣmavatāny api rūpāṇi śabdhāś ca tayiorviṣyaḥ | 
     
āha cātra  dūrasthamāvṛtaṃ sūkṣmaṃ sarvataś ca na paśyati |
māṃsacakṣuryato rūpamato divyaṃ dṛgiṣyate || 
   
kiyad dūraṃ punar divyena cakṣuṣā paśyati | yasya yādṛśaṃ cakṣurbhavati |  śrāvakapratyekabuddhabuddhāstvanabhhisaṃskāreṇa sāhasradvisāhasratrisāhasrakān lokadhātūn yathāsaṃkhyaṃ paśyanti |  abhisaṃskāreṇa tu 
     
dvitrisāhasrakāsaṃkhyadṛśo ’rhatkhaṅgavaiśikāḥ | 
 
sarvābhhisaṃskāreṇa saha śrāvako ’pi dvisāhasra lokadhātuṃ divyena cakṣuṣā paśyati |  trisāhasraṃ khaṅgaviṣāṇakalpaḥ |  buddhastu bhagavānasaṃkhyeyān lokahātūn paśyati yāvad evecchati | 
     
kim ṛddhir evopapattilābhikā bhavaty arhān yad api | 
 
anyad apy upapattyāptaṃ 
 
divyaśrotrādikam api catuṣṭayam upapattipratilabhyam asti |  na tūpapattyāptaṃ kiñcidabhijñākhyāṃ labhate |  yattūpapattipratilambhikaṃ divyaṃ cakṣuḥ 
     
taddṛśyo nāntarībhavaḥ || 7.55 || 
 
abhijñācakṣuṣaiva hy antarābhavo dṛśyate | nopapattipratilabdhena | 
 
cetojñānaṃ tu tat tredhā 
 
upapattyāptam iti vartate |  paracittajñānaṃ tūpapattipratilabdhaṃ trividhaṃ veditavyaṃ kuśalākuśalāvyākṛtam | 
   
tarkavidyākṛtaṃ ca yat | 
 
yac cāpi tārkikaṃ paracittajñānaṃ naimittikānāṃ yac ca vidyākṛtaṃ tad api trividhaṃ veditavyam |  na yathā bhāvanāphalaṃ kuśalameva |  upapattipratilambhikābhyāṃ tu paracittajñānapūrvanivāsānusmṛtibhyāṃ 
     
jānate nārakā ādau 
 
yāvan na duḥkhavedanābhyāhatā bhavanti | anyagatisthā nityaṃ jānate | 
 
nṛṇāṃ notpattilābhikam || 7.56 || 
 
mānuṣyāṇām etad yathoktam ṛddhacyādikaṃ nāsty upapattiprātilambhikam |  yat tarhi prakṛtijātismarā bhavanti |  karmaviśeṣajā ’sau teṣām |  trividhā hi pūrvanivāsānusmṛtirbhāvanāphalam upapattilabdhā karmajā ceti ||
