Note on the transliteration:
The transliteration system of the BP/TLB is based on the Unicode/UTF-8 system. However, there may be difficulties with some of the letters – particularly on PC/Windows-based systems, but not so much on the Mac. We have chosen the most accepted older and traditional systems of transliteration against, e.g, Wylie for Tibetan, since with Unicode it is possible, in Sanskrit and Tibetan, etc., to represent one sound with one letter in almost all the cases (excepting Sanskrit and Tibetan aspirated letters, and Tibetan tsa, tsha, dza). We thus do not use the Wylie system which widely employs two letters for one sound (ng, ny, sh, zh etc.).
 
Important:
We ask you in particular to note the use of the ’ apostrophe and not the ' representing the avagrāha in Sanskrit, and most important the ’a-chuṅ in Tibetan. On the Mac the ’ is Alt-M.

śiṣyagotrān nivartya dve buddhaḥ syāt

ābodheḥ sarvam ekatra dhyānāntye śāstṛkhaḍgayoḥ | 
 
śāstā budhaḥ khaḍgaviṣāṇakalpaḥ pratyekabuddhaḥ |  tayor ekatraivāsane caturthameva dhyānaṃ niśrityaniñjyapaṭusamādhitvānnirvedhabhāgīyānyārabhya yāvad bodhir utpadyate |  kṣayānutpādajñāne hi bodhiriti paścād upapādayiṣyāmaḥ |  aśubhāmārabhya yāvad vodhirity apare |  yeṣāṃ tu khaḍgādanyo ’pi pratyekabuddho ’stitadgotrāṇāṃ vyāvartanāpratiṣeṣaḥ |  kiṃ punaḥ prathama eva janmani kṛtaprayogo nirvedhabhāgīyānyutpādayet |  naitad asti avaśyaṃ hi

utpādayitavyam | sarvasvalpaṃ hi

ekasmin janmani mokṣabhāgīyaṃ kuśalamūlamutpādayet | dvitīye nirvedhabhāgīyāni |  tṛtīye āryamārgam | bījaviropaṇa sasyābhivṛddhiphalotpattikramavat |  krameṇa hi saṃtānasyāsyāṃ dharmatāyāmavatāraparipākavimuktayo bhavant_iti |  tacca punar mokṣabhāgīyaṃ varṇayanti |

na bhāvanāmayam | kati karmāṇi | 
 
trīṇi karmāṇi 
 
prādhānyena tu manaskarmma |  tatpraṇidhanaparigrahāttu kāyavākkarmāpi mokṣabhāgoyaṃ bhavati |  kaścid ekabhikṣām api dattvaika śikṣām api cādāya mokṣābhilāṣavalādhānānmokṣabhāgīyānyākṣipati |  tat tv etat | 
       
ākṣipyate nṛṣu | 
 
manuṣyeṣv eva triṣu dvīpeṣu | nānyatra | prajñānirvedayorabhāvādyathāyogam |  uktaṃ prasaṅgena mokṣabhāgīyam | 
   
abhisamayakramas tu vaktumārabdhaḥ | tatra ca yāvad agradharmā uktāḥ |  śeṣaṃ vaktavyam |  ata idam ucyate | 
     
laukikebhyo ’gradharmebhyo dharmakṣāntiranāsravā || 6.25 || 
 
laukikāgradharmānantaramanāsrava dharmajñānakṣāntir utpadyate | kasmin nālambane | 
 
kāmaduḥkhe | 
 
kāmāvacaraduḥkhamasyā ālambanam | seyaṃ duḥkhe dharmajñānakṣāntirity ucyate |  anāsravajñānārthaṃ niḥṣyandena viśeṣaṇam |  karmajñānārthaṃ kṣāntiḥ | puṣpaphalavṛkṣavat |  saiva ca niyāmāvakrāntirity ucyate |  samyaktvaniyāmāvakramaṇāt |  samyaktvaṃ nirvāṇamuktaṃ sūtre |  tatra niyamo niyāma ekāntībhāvaḥ | tasyābhigamanamavakramaṇam |  tasyāṃ cotpannāyāmāryapudgala ucyate | anāgatayā pṛthagjanatvaṃ vyāvartyate |  etad eva tasyāḥ kāritramanāgatāyāmabhyupagamyate nānyat |  pradīpajātivat |  laukikāgradharmairity apare | na taddharmatvāt tadvirodhitvādadoṣaḥ |  śatruskandhāruḍhatadghātanavat | ubhayairity apare | ānantaryavimuktimārgasādhrmyāditi | 
                       
tato ’traiva dharmajñānaṃ 
 
tataḥ punar duḥkhe dharmajñānakṣānteranantaramatraia kāmāvacare duḥkhe dharmajñānamutpadyate |  tat duḥkhe dharmajñānam ity ucyate | anāsravādhikāraḥ sarvatra veditavyaḥ |  yathā ca kāmāvacare duḥkhe dharmajñānakṣāntirdharmajñānaṃ cotpadyate 
     
tathā punaḥ |
śeṣe duḥkhe ’nvayakṣāntijñāne
 
 
duḥkhe dharmajñānānantaraṃ rūpārupyāvacare duḥkhe samastālambanānvayajñānakṣāntir utpadyate |  sā duḥkhe ’nvayajñānakṣāntirity ucyate | tato ’nvayajñānamutpadyate |  tat duḥkhe ’nvaya jñānam ity ucyate |  prathamato dharmatattvajñānād dharmajñānam |  tadanvayādūrdhvaṃ duḥkhālambanamanvayajñānam |  tathaivānugamanāt |  yathā caitāni duḥkhasatye catvāri kṣāntijñānāny utpadyante 
             
satyatraye tathā || 6.26 || 
 
duḥkhānvayajñānādanantaraṃ kāmāvacare samudaye dharmajñānakṣāntir utpadyate |  tataḥ samudaye dharmajñānam |  evaṃ samanantarotpattikrameṇa śeṣe samudaye ’nvayajñānakṣāntiḥ samudaye ’nvayajñānam kāmāvacaraduḥkhanirodhe dharmajñānakṣāntirnirodhe dharmajñānaṃ śeṣe nirodhe ’nvayajñānakṣāntirnirodhe ’nvayajñānaṃ kāmavacaraduḥkhapratipakṣamārge dharmajñānakṣāntirmārge dharmajñānaṃ śeṣe mārge ’nvayajñānakṣāntirmārge ’nvayajñānam | 
     
iti ṣoḍaśacitto ’yaṃ satyābhisamayaḥ 
 
ity anena krameṇāyaṃ satyānām abhisamayaḥ ṣoḍaśacittako bhavati |  ye tarhi nikāyāntarīyāḥ satyānām ekābhisamayaṃ varṇayanti |  abhiprāya eṣa draṣṭavyaḥ |  abhedena hy abhisamaya ucyate satyeṣu

darśanālambakāryākhyaḥ
 
 
darśanābhisamayo ’nāsravayā prajñayā satyānām |  ālambanābhisamayastatsaṃprayuktairvedanādibhir api |  kāryābhisamayo viprayuktair api śīlajātyādibhiḥ |  duḥkhe hi dṛśyamāne tasya trividho ’bhisamayaḥ samudayādīnāṃ kāryābhisamayaḥ |  prahāṇasākṣātkaraṇabhāvanāt |  tadyadi satyānāṃ darśanābhisamayaṃ pratyekābhisamayaṃ brūyāt |  ayuktaṃ brūyādākārabhedāt | athāpyanātmākāreṇa sarveṣāṃ darśanam iti brūyāt |  na tarhi satyānāṃ duḥkhādito darśanaṃ syāt | evaṃ ca sūtravirodhaḥ |  “ihāryaśravakasya duḥkhaṃ vā duḥkhato manasi kūrvataḥ samudayaṃ vā samudayato yāvat mārga vā mārgato manasi kurvato ’nāsraveṇa manasikāreṇa saṃprayukto yo dharmāṇo pravicaya” iti |  bhāvanāmārga evam iti cet | na | yathādarśanaṃ bhāvanāt |  athāpyekasya darśanāccheṣeṣu va4itvalābhādekābhisamayaṃ brūyānna doṣaḥ syāt |  antarā tu vyutthānamasti nāstīti vicāryaṃ syāt |  atha punar brūyāt duḥkhameva parijānansamudayaṃ prajahāti nirodhaṃ sākṣāt karoti mārgaṃ bhāvayati |  ata ikābhisamaya iti |  evam api na doṣaḥ syād ekasya darśane śeṣāṇāṃ kāryābhisamayavacanāt |  darśanābhisamayaṃ tu prati sūtre satyānāṃ krameṇābhisamaya ukto lakṣyate |  “na haiva gṛhapate satyānām ekābhisamayo ’pi pūrvābhisayaya” iti vistareṇa sadṛṣṭāntāni trīṇi sūtrāṇi |  “yo duḥkhe niṣkāṅkṣo nirvicikitso buddhe ’pi sa” iti sūtrādekābhisamaya iti cet |  na | asaṃmudācārāvaśyaṃ prahāṇābhisaṃdhivacanāt |  ya eṣa uktaḥ ṣoḍhaśacittako ’bhisamayaḥ 
                                       
so ’gradharmaikabhūmikaḥ || 6.27 || 
 
yadbhūmiko ’gradharmas tadbhūmikāny etāni ṣoḍaśa cittāni |  ta punaḥ ṣaḍbhūmikā ity uktaṃ prāk |  kasmāt punaḥ kṣāntayo jñānāni cavaśyaṃ bhavanti | yasmāt 
     
kṣāntijñānāny anantaryamuktimārgā yathākramam | 
 
anantaryamārgāḥ kṣāntayaḥ kleśaprāptivicchedaṃ pratyantarayitumaśakyatvāt |  vimuktimārgāstu jñānāni |  kleśaprāptivimuktānāṃ visaṃyogaprāptisahotpādāt |  ata ubhayairavaśyaṃ bhavitavyam |  dvābhyāṃ cauraniṣkāsanakapāṭapidhānavat |  yadi punar dvitīyenānantaryamārgeṇaiva saha visaṃyogaprāptirutpadyeta kiṃ syāt |  prahīṇavicikitsaṃ jñānaṃ tatraivālambane notpannaṃ syāt |  kṣāntibhiḥ kleśaprahāṇānnava saṃyojananikāyā jñānavadhyā iti śāstravirodha iti cet |  na |  kṣāntīnāṃ jñānaparivāratvāt | rājaparivārakṛtasya rājakṛtavyapadeśavat | 
                   
kiṃ punaḥ sarvāṇi ṣoḍaśacittāni satyadarśanāddarśanamārgaḥ | nety āha | kiṃ tarhi | 
 
adṛṣṭadṛṣṭerdṛṇṭṅmārgas tatra pañcadaśa kṣaṇāḥ || 6.28 || 
 
duḥkhadharmajñānakṣāntimārabhya yāvat mārge ’nvayajñāna kṣāntirete pañcadaśa kṣāṇā darśanamārgaḥ |  ki kāraṇam | adṛṣṭasatyadarśanāt |  ṣoḍaśe tu nāsty apoūrvaṃ dravyam iti |  yathādraṣṭābhyasanādbhāvanāmārga eva |  nanu ca tenāṣyadṛṣṭaṃ paśyati mārge ’nvayajñānakṣāntim |  satyaṃ prati cintā na kṣaṇam |  na hi kṣaṇenādṛṣṭena satyamadṛṣṭaṃ bhavati |  yathā naikena luṅgenālūnena dedāramalūnaṃ bhavati |  phalatvād aṣṭajñānaṣoḍaśākārabhāvanāt pūrvamārgavihāneḥ pravandhikatvāc ca mārgānvayajñānaṃ bhāvanāmārgaḥ |  aparihāṇistudarśanaheyakleśaprahāṇasaṃdhāraṇāt |  ata eva darśanamārga iti cet | na | atiprasaṅgāt |  sapta jñānāni kasmād darśanamārgaḥ |  darśanasyāsamāptatvāt |  na hi sarvaṃ satyadarśanaṃ samāptam iti tadantarālatvāt tanyappi darśanamārgaḥ |  uktaṃ yathā darśanamārgo bhāvanāmārgaś cotpadyate | 
                             
yathedānīmutpannāryamārgāṇāṃ pudgalānāṃ vyavasthānaṃ tathā vakṣyāmaḥ |  ya ete darśanamārgasvabhāvāḥ pañcādaśa kṣaṇa uktā veditavyau 
   
mṛdutīkṣṇendriyau teṣu śraddhādharmānusariṇau | 
 
mṛddhindriyas teṣu vartamānaḥ śraddhānusārīty ucyate | tīkṣṇendriyo dharmānusārīti |  śraddhayānusāraḥ śraddhānusāraḥ | so ’syāstīti śraddhānusārī |  śraddhayānusartuṃ śīlamasyeti vā |  pūrvaṃ parasaṃpratyayenārthānusaraṇāt | evaṃ dharmānusārī |  pūrvaṃ svayameva sūtrādibhir dharmairarthānusaraṇāt |  tau punaḥ 
           
ahīnabhāvanāheyau phalādyapratipannakau || 6.29 || 
 
phalānām ādyaṃ srota āpattiphalaṃ sarvaphalaprāptau tasya prathamatvāt |  tāveva śraddhādharmānusāriṇau yadi pūrvaṃ laukikena mārgeṇāprahīṇabhāvanāheyau bhavataḥ sakalavandhanau to srota āpattiphalapratipannakāvucyete | 
   
yāvat pañcaprakāraghnau 
 
yadi pūrvaṃ laukikena mārgeṇa kāmāvacarāṇaṃ bhāvanāheyānāṃ yāvat pañca prakārāḥ prahīṇā bhavanti |  tathaiva prathamaphalapratipannakāv ucyete | 
   
dvitīye ’rvāṅn avakṣayāt | 
 
dvītīyanimittaṃ dvitīye |  yadi tayostasmāt pareṇa ṣaṭ saptāṣṭau vā prakārāḥ pūrvaprahīṇā bhavanti |  dvau tau dvitīyaphalapratipannakāvucyete | katamacca dvitīyam |  sakṛdāgāmiphalam | 
       
kāmādviraktāburdhva vā tṛtīyapratipannakau || 6.30 || 
 
yadi punar navamasyāpi prakārasya prahāṇāt kāmadhātorvītarāgau bhavata ūrdhvaṃ vā yāvad ākiñcanyāyatanāt tau tṛtīya pratīpannakāvucyete |  katamacca tṛtīyam |  anāgāmiphalam |
