Note on the transliteration:

The transliteration system of the BP/TLB is based on the Unicode/UTF-8 system. However, there may be difficulties with some of the letters – particularly on PC/Windows-based systems, but not so much on the Mac. We have chosen the most accepted older and traditional systems of transliteration against, e.g, Wylie for Tibetan, since with Unicode it is possible, in Sanskrit and Tibetan, etc., to represent one sound with one letter in almost all the cases (excepting Sanskrit and Tibetan aspirated letters, and Tibetan tsa, tsha, dza). We thus do not use the Wylie system which widely employs two letters for one sound (ng, ny, sh, zh etc.).

Important:

We ask you in particular to note the use of the ’ apostrophe and not the ' representing the avagrāha in Sanskrit, and most important the ’a-chuṅ in Tibetan. On the Mac the ’ is Alt-M.

(3)佛在室羅伐城給孤獨園。(4)時勝光王嚴整軍旅。將欲征討。時六眾苾芻輒往觀察。(5)由觀軍事不寂靜煩惱。制斯學處。(6)若復苾芻往觀整裝軍者。波逸底迦。(7)言整裝軍者。欲將戰鬥。(8)軍有四種謂象馬車步。此中犯者。去寺不遠有大軍眾。(9)嚴整師旅欲挍兵旗。苾芻往觀。假使不挍為挍而觀。(10)初見之時。便得墮罪。設方便時。得多惡作。(11)若觀天龍阿蘇羅等軍。亦得惡作。(12)乃至故心觀鶉等鬥。並惡作罪。境想同前。不犯者。(13)若賊軍欲至須往觀望知其遠近。若乞食遇見。(14)若軍營近路。若軍來寺中。若有難緣縱觀無犯。
