Note on the transliteration:
The transliteration system of the BP/TLB is based on the Unicode/UTF-8 system. However, there may be difficulties with some of the letters – particularly on PC/Windows-based systems, but not so much on the Mac. We have chosen the most accepted older and traditional systems of transliteration against, e.g, Wylie for Tibetan, since with Unicode it is possible, in Sanskrit and Tibetan, etc., to represent one sound with one letter in almost all the cases (excepting Sanskrit and Tibetan aspirated letters, and Tibetan tsa, tsha, dza). We thus do not use the Wylie system which widely employs two letters for one sound (ng, ny, sh, zh etc.).
 
Important:
We ask you in particular to note the use of the ’ apostrophe and not the ' representing the avagrāha in Sanskrit, and most important the ’a-chuṅ in Tibetan. On the Mac the ’ is Alt-M.

(16)佛在室羅伐城給孤獨園。(17)時難提苾芻以僧伽胝與達摩苾芻。後因忿諍。還奪其衣。(18)由不忍故。生他謗議。因取衣事不忍廢闕。(19)譏嫌煩惱。制斯學處。若復苾芻先與苾芻衣。(20)彼於後時惱瞋罵詈。生嫌賤心。(21)若自奪若教人奪。報言還我衣來不與汝。(22)若衣離彼身自受用者。泥薩祇波逸底迦。(23)言與衣者。是總摽句。若與彼衣時。告言。(24)汝可與我作使。若不為作便奪衣者。得捨墮罪。(25)言後時者。謂是別時。言惱者。(26)謂以身業現惱相故。瞋者謂於內心結忿恚故。言罵詈者。(27)由懷忿恨出不忍言故。言嫌賤者。(28)現瞋忿相為不益事。奪者謂據本心有所希望。(29)情既不遂而返奪之。作己物想。若異此者得他勝罪。(563c1)言受用者。作屬己心。此中犯者。謂若苾芻。(2)或身或語。或身語二。或自或他而為牽奪。(3)乃至衣角未離身來。咸得惡作。(4)既離身已得捨墮罪。若諸俗人奪苾芻衣。能生無量不善之業。(5)實未奪得作奪得想等。如前應說。(6)若知前人性不謹慎沙門資具。恐其散失。(7)善心奪舉者無犯。
