Note on the transliteration:

The transliteration system of the BP/TLB is based on the Unicode/UTF-8 system. However, there may be difficulties with some of the letters – particularly on PC/Windows-based systems, but not so much on the Mac. We have chosen the most accepted older and traditional systems of transliteration against, e.g, Wylie for Tibetan, since with Unicode it is possible, in Sanskrit and Tibetan, etc., to represent one sound with one letter in almost all the cases (excepting Sanskrit and Tibetan aspirated letters, and Tibetan tsa, tsha, dza). We thus do not use the Wylie system which widely employs two letters for one sound (ng, ny, sh, zh etc.).

Important:

We ask you in particular to note the use of the ’ apostrophe and not the ' representing the avagrāha in Sanskrit, and most important the ’a-chuṅ in Tibetan. On the Mac the ’ is Alt-M.

(15)佛在室羅伐城給孤獨園。(16)時阿難陀苾芻飯食已訖。即以殘食。與二無衣女人。(17)彼之二女一老一少。不審觀察。老與一餅少者與二。(18)老母語少者言。彼與二餅意有所求。(19)汝宜備辦。由外道事譏嫌待緣煩惱。制斯學處。(20)若復苾芻自手授與無衣外道。(21)及餘外道男女食者。波逸底迦。(22)言無衣者。謂露形外道。言及餘外道者。(23)總收餘類。自手與者。謂親自手決心施與。(24)此中犯者。謂是露形等外道男女。受者現前。(25)苾芻授與。或墮手內。或落器中者。波逸底迦。(26)若未墮時。得惡作罪。(27)由自手與彼生憍慢無羞慚故。若不現前。或時棄地先出其分。(28)後方食者。咸得惡作。境想六句如上應知。(29)若宗親若病苦與時無犯。若欲出家與其共住。(590a1)如廣文說。
