Note on the transliteration:

The transliteration system of the BP/TLB is based on the Unicode/UTF-8 system. However, there may be difficulties with some of the letters – particularly on PC/Windows-based systems, but not so much on the Mac. We have chosen the most accepted older and traditional systems of transliteration against, e.g, Wylie for Tibetan, since with Unicode it is possible, in Sanskrit and Tibetan, etc., to represent one sound with one letter in almost all the cases (excepting Sanskrit and Tibetan aspirated letters, and Tibetan tsa, tsha, dza). We thus do not use the Wylie system which widely employs two letters for one sound (ng, ny, sh, zh etc.).

Important:

We ask you in particular to note the use of the ’ apostrophe and not the ' representing the avagrāha in Sanskrit, and most important the ’a-chuṅ in Tibetan. On the Mac the ’ is Alt-M.

(27)佛在室羅伐城給孤獨園。(28)時鄔波難陀親友白衣。敬信三寶。於自家中廣設供養。(29)以鄔波難陀為首。請苾芻眾。時鄔波難陀報親友曰。(602c1)我有緣事須向某家。要待我至方可行食。(2)既往餘處久待不來。遂令大眾多不得食。(3)由詣俗家事過限。廢闕煩惱。制斯學處。(4)若復苾芻受食家請食前食後。行詣餘家。(5)不囑授者。波逸底迦。(6)食家請者。謂受俗家請食。(7)若婆羅門及餘俗家。食前者。謂在中前。不囑授去行過兩家。(8)便得墮罪食後者。謂是中後。(9)行過三家亦得墮罪若語施主我設不來。應與僧食。(10)勿令廢闕若施主不以此人而為先首去。並無罪。
