Note on the transliteration:

The transliteration system of the BP/TLB is based on the Unicode/UTF-8 system. However, there may be difficulties with some of the letters – particularly on PC/Windows-based systems, but not so much on the Mac. We have chosen the most accepted older and traditional systems of transliteration against, e.g, Wylie for Tibetan, since with Unicode it is possible, in Sanskrit and Tibetan, etc., to represent one sound with one letter in almost all the cases (excepting Sanskrit and Tibetan aspirated letters, and Tibetan tsa, tsha, dza). We thus do not use the Wylie system which widely employs two letters for one sound (ng, ny, sh, zh etc.).

Important:

We ask you in particular to note the use of the ’ apostrophe and not the ' representing the avagrāha in Sanskrit, and most important the ’a-chuṅ in Tibetan. On the Mac the ’ is Alt-M.

(4)佛在室羅伐城給孤獨園。(5)如世尊說不應床前洗足。若有老病行來疲極。(6)應在床兩頭而洗。床腳極短亦不應眠。(7)是時六眾便作大床腳。長十二肘安梯上下。由床量事。(8)煩惱同前。制斯學處。(9)若復苾芻作大小床。足應高佛八指。(10)除入梐木。若有過者應截去。波逸底迦。(11)斯之事惱下戒咸同。言作床者。若自作若使人作。(12)佛八指者。謂中人一肘。除入梐木者。(13)謂除入梐床腳木也。應截者。過須截卻方為說悔。(14)以寶裝挍。得惡作罪。凡床腳應平截。若恐損地。(15)應安承物。謂穀糠袋。(16)或[專*瓦]木等(言中人一肘者長笏尺一尺五寸過此是高床量用皆得罪)。
