A la bonheur, herr pædagog. Ulrik Brendel har aldrig rendt den slags foreninger på dørene. (vender sig.) Men jeg tør ikke forlænge mit ophold i dette hus, så rigt på minder. Jeg må til byen og vælge mig et passende logis. Der findes dog vel et ordentligt hotel, vil jeg håbe.

A la bonne heure, Herr Pädagoge. Ulrik Brendel hat derlei Vereinen niemals das Haus eingerannt. Wendet sich um. Aber ich darf meinen Aufenthalt nicht länger ausdehnen in diesem Hause, das so reich an Erinnerungen. Ich muß in die Stadt und mir ein passendes Logis suchen. Es gibt doch wohl ein ordentliches Hotel dort, will ich hoffen.

(Turns to go) But I must not prolong my stay in this house, rich as it is in memories. I must go into the town and find some suitable lodging. I shall find a decent hotel of some kind there, I hope?
