Taterungen tør ej sættes,
hvor det luner, hvor det lyser.
Vore folk har landevejen,
urden, skogen, fjeldet, hejen;
vi skal færdes, vi skal vandre;
hus og hjem er for jer andre.
Lynsnar må jeg ud igen;
de er efter mig som hunde!
Foged, lensmand, lovens mænd,
