Note on the transliteration:

The transliteration system of the BP/TLB is based on the Unicode/UTF-8 system. However, there may be difficulties with some of the letters – particularly on PC/Windows-based systems, but not so much on the Mac. We have chosen the most accepted older and traditional systems of transliteration against, e.g, Wylie for Tibetan, since with Unicode it is possible, in Sanskrit and Tibetan, etc., to represent one sound with one letter in almost all the cases (excepting Sanskrit and Tibetan aspirated letters, and Tibetan tsa, tsha, dza). We thus do not use the Wylie system which widely employs two letters for one sound (ng, ny, sh, zh etc.).

Important:

We ask you in particular to note the use of the ’ apostrophe and not the ' representing the avagrāha in Sanskrit, and most important the ’a-chuṅ in Tibetan. On the Mac the ’ is Alt-M.

(6)佛在室羅伐城給孤獨園。(7)時有年老苾芻數數犯罪。被師呵責。生不忍心。便告師曰。(8)阿遮利耶。此好飲食已作餘法。宜可食之。(9)欲令他犯。事惱同前。制斯學處。。(10)若復苾芻知他苾芻足食竟。不作餘食法。(11)勸令更食。告言具壽。當噉此食。(12)以此因緣欲使他犯生憂惱者。波逸底迦。(13)勸令食者謂頻請白。欲令他犯者。(14)是總摽句。彼苾芻緣斯事故。當生憂惱。是別釋句。(15)令彼苾芻緣斯犯罪生憂惱故。(16)若無惡心令他食者無犯。遮足想疑總有六句。(17)不作餘長想疑。亦有六句。二重兩輕後二無犯。
