Note on the transliteration:

The transliteration system of the BP/TLB is based on the Unicode/UTF-8 system. However, there may be difficulties with some of the letters – particularly on PC/Windows-based systems, but not so much on the Mac. We have chosen the most accepted older and traditional systems of transliteration against, e.g, Wylie for Tibetan, since with Unicode it is possible, in Sanskrit and Tibetan, etc., to represent one sound with one letter in almost all the cases (excepting Sanskrit and Tibetan aspirated letters, and Tibetan tsa, tsha, dza). We thus do not use the Wylie system which widely employs two letters for one sound (ng, ny, sh, zh etc.).

Important:

We ask you in particular to note the use of the ’ apostrophe and not the ' representing the avagrāha in Sanskrit, and most important the ’a-chuṅ in Tibetan. On the Mac the ’ is Alt-M.

(3)佛在王舍城竹林園中。世尊欲制共學處。(4)時二部僧伽並須和集。(5)然制前四月戒尼不現前。佛告阿難陀。令半託迦苾芻往報尼眾。(6)時半託迦奉教而去。是時六眾見而問之。(7)時半託迦具以事答。是時六眾便出惡言。(8)共相遮障。由輕學處事輕毀煩惱。制斯學處。(9)若復苾芻聞諸苾芻作如是語。具壽。(10)仁今當習如是學處。彼作是語。我實不能用。(11)汝愚癡不分明。不善解者。所說之言。受行學處。(12)我若見餘善閑三藏。當隨彼言。而受行者。(13)波逸底迦。(14)若苾芻實欲求解者。當問三藏。此是時。(15)此中言愚者。思其惡思說其惡說。癡者。(16)謂不持三藏。不分明者。謂不了其義。不善解者。(17)不能如理善為決擇。說愚等時。便得墮罪。(18)若說實者無犯。
