en dør. På bagvæggen fløjdør til forstuen. På væggen til venstre et vindu og foran dette en opsats med blomster og planter. Ved ovnen et bord med sofa og lænestole. Rundt om på væggene hænger ældre og nyere portrætter af prester, officerer og embedsmænd i uniform. Vinduet står åbent. Ligeså forstuedøren og den ydre husdør. Udenfor ses store gamle trær i en allé, som fører til gården. Sommeraften. Solen er nede.)

ERSTER AKT
Wohnstube auf Rosmersholm; geräumig, altmodisch und gemütlich.
Vorn an der Wand rechts ein Kachelofen, der mit frischem Birkengrün und Wiesenblumen geschmückt ist. Weiter hinten eine Tür. An der Rückwand eine Flügeltür, die ins Vorzimmer führt. An der Wand links ein Fenster und davor ein Behälter mit Blumen und Pflanzen. Beim Ofen ein Tisch mit Sofa und Lehnstühlen. Rings an den Wänden hängen ältere und neuere Porträts von Geistlichen, Offizieren und Beamten in Uniform. Das Fenster steht offen. Ebenso die Vorzimmertür und die äußere Haustür. Draußen sieht man die großen, alten Bäume einer Allee, die zum Gut hinführt. Sommerabend. Die Sonne ist untergegangen.
ACT 1
(SCENE--The sitting-room at Rosmersholm; a spacious room, comfortably furnished in old-fashioned style. In the foreground, against the right-hand wall, is a stove decorated with sprigs of fresh birch and wild flowers. Farther back, a door. In the back wall folding doors leading into the entrance hall. In the left-hand wall a window, in front of which is a stand filled with flowers and plants. Near the stove stand a table, a couch and an easy-chair. The walls are hung round with portraits, dating from various periods, of clergymen, military officers and other officials in uniform. The window is open, and so are the doors into the lobby and the outer door. Through the latter is seen an avenue of old trees leading to a courtyard. It is a summer evening, after sunset.

(罗斯莫庄的起坐室。这是一间宽敞舒服的旧式屋子。前方右首，有一只用新摘的白桦树枝和野花装饰的火炉。靠后些，也在右首，有一扇门。后墙有两扇合页门，开到门厅里。左首有一扇窗，窗前有个花架，架上摆着花草。火炉旁边有一张桌子，一张长沙发，几张小沙发。周围墙上挂着许多新旧画像，其中有牧师，有军人，也有穿制服的官员。窗户敞着，合页门和后面的屋门也都敞着。望出去有一条直达屋前的林荫路，路旁都是葱郁秀美的古树。正是夏日傍晚，太阳刚落山。)
