Weaponry employed by Egil Skallagrimsson

In writing the list of contents to the left of the text a combination of the three versions has been employed. The main chapters, with headings in Norwegian, are taken from Hallvard Lies’ Norwegian translation. The sub-chapters have been numbered in accordance with the Íslenzk fornrit edition, and the title of the sub-chapters are taken from W.C. Green’s translation. The numbers of the chapters in Green are the same as those of Íslenzk fornrit up to 57, but after that they diverge from the Íslenzk fornrit numbers. All the poems, as refered to in the contents, are numbered in accordance with the Íslenzk fornrit edition.

Green’s translation differs from the Íslenzk fornrit text, it has most often some additional passages, but sometimes also omissions – thus it is not completely equivalent with our text basis. Lie’s translation follows the text faithfully for the most.
