προενοήθη δὲ καὶ ὅπως ἐξαποσταλῶσιν δυνάμεις ἱππικαί τε καὶ πεζικαὶ καὶ νῆες  ἐπὶ τοὺς ἐπελθόντας ἐπὶ τὴν Αἴγυπτον κατά τε τὴν θάλασσαν καὶ τὴν ἤπειρον,  ὑπομείνας δαπάνας ἀργυρικάς τε καὶ σιτικὰς μεγάλας,  ὅπως τά θ’ ἱερὰ καὶ οἱ ἐν αὐτῆι πάντες ἐν ἀσφαλείαι ὦσιν· 
ΠΡΟΕΝΟΗΘΗ ΔΕ ΚΑΙ ΟΠΩΣ ΕΞΑΠΟΣΤΑΛΩΣΙΝ ΔΥΝΑΜΕΙΣ ΙΠΠΙΚΑΙ ΤΕ ΚΑΙ ΠΕΖΙΚΑΙ ΚΑΙ ΝΗΕΣ  ΕΠΙ ΤΟΥΣ ΕΠΕΛΘΟΝΤΑΣ 21 ΕΠΙ ΤΗΝ ΑΙΓΥΠΤΟΝ ΚΑΤΑ ΤΕ ΤΗΝ ΘΑΛΑΣΣΑΝ ΚΑΙ ΤΗΝ ΗΠΕΙΡΟΝ  ΥΠΟΜΕΙΝΑΣ ΔΑΠΑΝΑΣ ΑΡΓΥΡΙΚΑΣ ΤΕ ΚΑΙ ΣΙΤΙΚΑΣ ΜΕΓΑΛΑΣ  ΟΠΩΣ ΤΑ Θ ΙΕΡΑ ΚΑΙ ΟΙ ΕΝ ΑΥΤΗΙ ΠΑΝΤΑΣ ΕΝ ΑΣΦΑΛΕΙΑΙ ΩΣΙΝ 
and whereas he provided that cavalry and infantry forces and ships  should be sent out against those who invaded Egypt by sea and by land,  laying out great sums in money and corn  in order that the temples and all those who are in the land might be in safety;
