Popular titleSir Edward Seaward's Narrative of his Shipwreck, and consequent discovery of certain islands in the Caribbean Sea
Year of origin1831
LanguageEnglish
GenreRobinsonade
HeroFemale and male
SourceUllrich, p. 199
NotesThe work is originally presented as anonymously authored, and edited by Jane Porter. However, the work has often been attributed to Jane Porter's elder brother, W.O.Porter. The reasons for including the work in this bibliography of female robinsonades are both that the female protagonist plays a more important role than the wives of male protagonists often do, and that Jane Porter's role as editor comes close to the role of co-author. The work is consequently treated as co-authored by the Porters.
