uttarottarataḥ śreṣṭhā dānapāramitādayaḥ |
netarārthaṃ tyajec chreṣṭhām anyatrācārasetutaḥ ||83||
sbyin pa’i pha rol phyin la sogs | | goṅ nas goṅ du khyad źugs spyad | |
chuṅ ṅu’i phyir ni che mi gtaṅ | | gtso cher gźan gyi don bsam mo | |
Les perfections, charité, [moralité, patience, etc.], sont suivant leur ordre, de plus en plus excellentes : le bodhisattva n’abandonne pas la meilleure en faveur de la moins bonne ; — sauf, toutefois, en faveur [de la charité], qui est sa pratique [essentielle et] la digue qui retient les eaux du mér te.
The Perfections, Charity, and the rest, are of an ascending order of excellence; he will not forsake a more excellent for another, save in respect of the dyke of virtue.
