Note on the transliteration:
The transliteration system of the BP/TLB is based on the Unicode/UTF-8 system. However, there may be difficulties with some of the letters – particularly on PC/Windows-based systems, but not so much on the Mac. We have chosen the most accepted older and traditional systems of transliteration against, e.g, Wylie for Tibetan, since with Unicode it is possible, in Sanskrit and Tibetan, etc., to represent one sound with one letter in almost all the cases (excepting Sanskrit and Tibetan aspirated letters, and Tibetan tsa, tsha, dza). We thus do not use the Wylie system which widely employs two letters for one sound (ng, ny, sh, zh etc.).
 
Important:
We ask you in particular to note the use of the ’ apostrophe and not the ' representing the avagrāha in Sanskrit, and most important the ’a-chuṅ in Tibetan. On the Mac the ’ is Alt-M.

tena vaiśālakānāṃ licchavīnāṃ dūtasaṃpreṣaṇaṃ kṛtam | gacchāmy ahaṃ bhavatāṃ bāhucchāyāyāṃ vastum iti |  tair ādarajātaiḥ pratisandeśo dattaḥ | iyam eva vaiśālī svāgatam āgaccheti | 
des yaṅs pa can gyi li tstsha bī rnams la bdag ni khyed cag gi dpuṅ gi phag na ’dug par ’dod do źes so ña btaṅ ṅo ||  de rnams kyis gus pa’i tshul gyis lan sbriṅ ba | yaṅs pa can ’dir (2) byon pa legs kyis spyon cig | 
tataḥ khaṇḍenāgrāmātyena jñātaya āhūya uktāḥ | bhavanto vaiśālīṃ saṃprasthito yeṣāṃ yuṣmākam abhirucitam ihāvasthānaṃ te ’bhitiṣṭhantu yeṣāṃ nābhirucitaṃ te sajjā bhavantu gacchāmaḥ | 
de nas blon po’i mchog dum bus ñe du rnams bos te smras pa | śes ldan dag bdag ni yaṅs pa can du chas kyis khyed cag las gaṅ dag ’dir dga’ ba de dag ni ’dug śig | gaṅ dag mi ’dod pa de dag ni sta gon gyis śig daṅ ’doṅ ṅo || 
gopālakāḥ paśupālakāś coktāḥ | yūyaṃ gomahiṣīḥ yena vaiśālī1 tena khaṭayata | pauruṣeyā uktāḥ | sannāhayata vaiśālīṃ gacchāma iti | 
(3) ba laṅ rji daṅ phyugs rji rnams la bsgo ba | khyed cag gis ba laṅ daṅ ma hi yaṅs ba can gaṅ na ba der skyoṅs śig | źo śes ’tsho ba rnams lo bsgo ba yaṅs ba can du ’dod gis go gyon cig | de nas skye bo’i tshogs de ltar sta gon byed du bcug nas | rgyal po’i druṅ du soṅ ste 
tato janakāyam evaṃ prerayitvā rājñaḥ sakāśaṃ gataḥ pādayor nipatya kathayati | deva kiṃcit karaṇīyam asti | udyānaṃ gacchāmy (6) avalokito bhaveti | 
(4) rkaṅ pa gñis la gtugs te smras pa | lha bgyi ba cuṅ źig mchis te | skyed mos tshal du mchin gzigs su gsal || 
rājā kathayaty evaṃ bhavatu gaccheti | 
rgyal pos smras pa | de bźin byas soṅ śig | 
sa udyānaśobhāṃ kārayitvā sārādānaṃ śakaṭeṣv āropya upari khādanīyabhojanīyena ācchādya saṃprasthitaḥ | 
des skyed mos tshal byi dor byas nas nor gces bas śiṅ rta bkaṅ ste | steṅ bza’ ba daṅ bca’ bas g-yogs (5) nas soṅ ṅo || 
amātyaiḥ śrutam | khaṇḍo niṣpalāyatīti | 
blon po rnams kyis dum bu bros so źes thos nas | 
te tvaritaṃ tvaritaṃ rājñaḥ sakāśaṃ gatvā kathayanti | deva khaṇḍo niṣpalāyatīti | 
de rnams riṅs pa riṅs par rgyal po’i druṅ du soṅ nas smras pa | lha dum bu’i bros so || 
rājā kathayati | bhavanto gacchata nirvartayateti | 
rgyal pos smras pa | deṅ la slar khug śig | 
te caturaṅgaṃ balakāyaṃ sannāhya nirgatāḥ kathayanti | khaṇḍa devo śabdayatīti nivartayasveti | 
de rnams kyis dpuṅ gi tshogs yan lag bźi ba go bskon nas bsñags (6) te smras pa | dum bu lhas bka’ stsal gyis slar log śig | 
sa kathayati | bhavanto yuṣmākaṃ dīrgharātram ayam āśvāsakaḥ | aho bata khaṇḍaḥ kālaṃ kuryān niṣpalāyeta iti vā iti | sa yuṣmākam alpakṛcchreṇa paripūrṇaḥ | gacchata niṣpalāyaty ayam iti | 
des smras pa | śes ldan dag khyed cag gis yun rig mo źig nas kye ma’o du ma bu śi’i ’phros par gyur kyaṅ ci ma ruṅ sñam du bsams pa de tshogs chug dus grub kyis deṅ śig | kho bo ni bros pa yin no || 
te rājñaś cittānurakṣayā kāṇḍakāṇḍiṃ kṛtvā nivṛttā rājñaḥ kathayanti | deva niṣpalāyitaḥ khaṇḍo agrāmātya iti | rājā kathayati | na śobhanam iti kṛtvā tūṣṇīm avasthitaḥ | khaṇḍo ’py anupūrveṇa vaiśālīṃ gataḥ | 
de rnams kyis (7) rgyal po’i sems bsruṅ ba’i phyir mda’ daṅ mda’ dag ’dres par byas nas log ste rgyal po la smras pa | lha blon po’i mchog dum bu ni bros so || rgyal pos ma legs so sñam du bsams nas caṅ mi smra bar ’dug go || du ma gu yaṅ rim gyis yaṅs pa can du phyin to ||
