Note on the transliteration:
The transliteration system of the BP/TLB is based on the Unicode/UTF-8 system. However, there may be difficulties with some of the letters – particularly on PC/Windows-based systems, but not so much on the Mac. We have chosen the most accepted older and traditional systems of transliteration against, e.g, Wylie for Tibetan, since with Unicode it is possible, in Sanskrit and Tibetan, etc., to represent one sound with one letter in almost all the cases (excepting Sanskrit and Tibetan aspirated letters, and Tibetan tsa, tsha, dza). We thus do not use the Wylie system which widely employs two letters for one sound (ng, ny, sh, zh etc.).
 
Important:
We ask you in particular to note the use of the ’ apostrophe and not the ' representing the avagrāha in Sanskrit, and most important the ’a-chuṅ in Tibetan. On the Mac the ’ is Alt-M.

kim punaḥ kāraṇaṃ caitasikā ekatra saṃskāraskandhanikṣiptā vedanāsaṃjñe tu pṛthak skandhīkṛte ity āha 
復有何因。一切所餘心法。佛世尊安置一(14)行陰中。分受想二法別立爲陰。 
何縁世尊説餘心(9)所總置行蘊。別分受想爲二蘊耶。頌曰 
yaṅ ci’i phyir sems las byuṅ ba gźan rnams ni ’du byed kyi phuṅ po gcig tu bsdus la ’du śes daṅ tshor ba dag ni logs śig tu phuṅ por byas śen | smras pa 
 
vivādamūlasaṃsārahetutvāt kramakāraṇāt |
caittebhyo vedanāsaṃjñe pṛthakaskandhau niveśitau
|| 1.21 || 
偈曰。爭根生(15)死因。立次第因故。心法中受想。分立爲別(16)陰。 
(10)諍根生死因 及次第因故
(11)於諸心所法 受想別爲蘊 
| rtsod pa’i rtsa bar gyur pa daṅ | | ’khor ba’i rgyu phyir rim rgyu’i phyir |
| sems byuṅ (4)rnams las tshor ba daṅ | | ’du śes logs śig phuṅ por bźag |
 
 
dve vivādamūle | kāmādhyavasānaṃ dṛṣṭyadhyavasānaṃ ca |  tayor vedanāsaṃjñe yathākramaṃ pradhānahetū |  vedanāsvādavaśād dhi kāmānabhiṣvajante viparītasaṃjñāvaśāc ca dṛṣṭīr iti |  saṃsārasyāpi te pradhānahetū | vedanāsvādagṛddho hi viṣaryastasaṃjñaḥ saṃsarati |  yac ca skandhakrame kāraṇam upadekṣyamāṇaṃ tato ’pi kramakāraṇād anayoḥ pṛthakskandhīkaraṇaṃ veditavyam |  etac ca tredhopapādayiṣyāmaḥ | 
釋曰。爭根有二。一貪著欲塵。二貪著諸(17)見。  受想二法次第爲此二爭勝因。  由衆生著(18)受味。是故執著欲塵。由隨顛倒想起執著諸(19)見。  受想二法是生死勝因。何以故。衆生貪著(20)受起倒想。輪轉生死。  復有因爲立次第。後文(21)當説。此中由此次第因。分受想二法別立爲(22)陰應知如此。  此因立次第中當説。 
(12)論曰。諍根有二。謂著諸欲及著諸見。  此二(13)受想。如其次第爲最勝因。  味受力故貪著(14)諸欲。倒想力故貪著諸見。  又生死法以受及(15)想爲最勝因。由耽著受起倒想故。生死(16)輪迴。  由此二因及後當説次第因故。應知(17)別立受想爲蘊。其次第因。  隣次當辯。 
rtsod pa’i rtsa bdag ni gñis te | ’dod pa la lhag par źen pa daṅ | lta ba la lhag par źen pa’o |  | de gñis kyi rgyu’i gtso bo ni go rims bźin du tshor ba daṅ | ’du śes dag ste |  tshor ba ro myaṅ ba’i dbaṅ (5)gis ni ’dod pa rnams las mṅon par źen la | ’du śes phyin ci log gis ni lta ba rnams la’o |  | de dag ni ’khor pa’i rgyu’i gtso bo yaṅ yin te | tshor ba la źen ciṅ ’du śes phyin ci log tu gyur pa ni ’khor ro |  | gaṅ yaṅ phuṅ po’i go rims kyi rgyu ston par ’gyur ba’i go rims (6)kyi rgyu de’i phyir yaṅ ’di gñis logs śig tu phuṅ por byas par rig par bya ste |  de ni de ñid du bśad par bya’o |
