[80] bhūtapūrvaṃ mahārāja ita ekanavate kalpe bhagavāṃ vipaśyī nāma ta(4)thāgato loka udapādi vidyācaraṇasamampannaḥ sugato lokavid anuttaraḥ pu(5)ruṣadamyasārathiḥ śāstā devamanuṣyāṇāṃ buddho bhagavān |
sa bandhumatīṃ rājadhānīm upa(1)niḥsṛtya viharati bandhumatīyake dāve |

[80] Formerly, O great king, ninety-one kalpas ago, there arose in this world the Fortunate One, the Tathāgata, Vipaśyin by name, endowed with wisdom and good conduct, the Sugata, knower of the world, supreme, tamer of men who need to be tamed, teacher of gods and men, the Awakened, the Fortunate One.
He lived in the forest of Bandhumatī near the royal city of Bandhumatī.
