بعد از آن سويها ركهيشر از پپلاد پرسيد كه
اى سزاوار تعظيم
پسر راجه كوسل هرن نابحه نام آمده از مان اؤال كرد كه
اى ٹسر بهردواج پرشى كه شانزده كال در او است تو آن پرشى را مى شنا سى
من جواب دادم كه
آن پرش را نمى دانم
اگر آن پرش را ميد انستم
چرا بتو نمى گفتم
بزرگان گفته اند هر كه دروغ ميكاند از بيخ خشكى ميشود
از اينجهت من چون بتو دروغ بگويم
آن راج كمار اين جواب را شنيده و هيچ نگفته بر رتهه سوار شده رفت
اى پپلاد و من از تو ميپرسم كه
آن پرش كجا است

ô Bharadouadj ! porschi, quòd sexdecim (16) kala in eo est (sunt), tu illum porsch cognoscis?
Ego responsum dedi, quòd:
ego illum porsch non scio.
Illum porsch si scirem,
quarè cum te (tibi) non dicerem?
magni dixerunt, quòd: quisquis mendacium dicit, è radice siccus fiat.
Ex hoc respectu (idcircò) ego quomodò cum te mendacium dicam?
Ille Radj kamar (Radjah filius), hoc responsum ut audavit, et quidquam ut non dixit, super ratheh eques factus (cùm currum conscendisset), abivit.
O Pilad! ego à te peto,
quòd ille porsch quo loco est?
1. Then Sukesas Bharadvaga asked him, saying:
‘Sir,
Hiranyanabha, the prince of Kosala, came to me and asked this question:
Do you know the person of sixteen parts, O Bharadvaga?
I said to the prince:
I do not know him;
if I knew him,
how should I not tell you?
Surely, he who speaks what is untrue withers away to the very root;
therefore I will not say what is untrue.
Then he mounted his chariot and went away silently.
Now I ask you,
where is that person?’
