وَأَنِ اسْتَغْفِرُوا رَبَّكُمْ ثُمَّ تُوبُوا إِلَيْهِ يُمَتِّعْكُم مَّتَاعًا حَسَنًا إِلَىٰ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى وَيُؤْتِ كُلَّ ذِي فَضْلٍ فَضْلَهُ وَإِن تَوَلَّوْا فَإِنِّي أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ كَبِيرٍ

3a wa-ʾani staġfirū rabba-kum
3b ṯumma tūbū ʾilay-hi yumattiʿ-kum matāʿan ḥasanan ʾilā ʾaǧalin musamman
3c wa-yuʾti kulla ḏī faḍlin faḍla-hū
3d wa-ʾin tawallaw
3e fa-ʾinī ʾaḫāfu ʿalay-kum ʿaḏāba yawmin kabīrin

And (bidding you): Ask pardon of your Lord and turn to Him repentant. He will cause you to enjoy a fair estate until a time appointed. He giveth His bounty unto every bountiful one. But if ye turn away, lo! (then) I fear for you the retribution of an awful Day. 3

你們應當向你們的主求饒，然後，向他悔過，他就使你們獲得優美的享受，到一個限期，並賞賜有美德者以大量的恩惠。如果你們違背正道，那末，我的確擔心你們遭受重大日的懲罰。

إِلَى اللَّهِ مَرْجِعُكُمْ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

4a ʾilā llāhi marǧiʿu-kum
4b wa-huwa ʿalā kulli šayʾin qadīrun

Unto Allah is your return, and He is Able to do all things. 4

你們只歸於真主，他對萬事確是全能的。」

أَلَا إِنَّهُمْ يَثْنُونَ صُدُورَهُمْ لِيَسْتَخْفُوا مِنْهُ أَلَا حِينَ يَسْتَغْشُونَ ثِيَابَهُمْ يَعْلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ إِنَّهُ عَلِيمٌ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُورِ

5a ʾa-lā ʾinna-hum yaṯnūna ṣudūra-hum
5b li-yastaḫfū min-hu
5c ʾa-lā
5d ḥīna yastaġšūna ṯiyāba-hum
5e yaʿlamu mā yusirrūna wa-mā yuʿlinūna
5f ʾinna-hū ʿalīmun bi-ḏāti ṣ-ṣudūri

Lo! now they fold up their breasts that they may hide (their thoughts) from Him. At the very moment when they cover themselves with their clothing, Allah knoweth that which they keep hidden and that which they proclaim. Lo! He is Aware of what is in the breasts (of men). 5

真的，他們的確胸懷怨恨，以便隱瞞真主。真的，當他們用衣服遮蓋胸部的時候，真主知道他們所隱諱的和他們所表白的，他確是全知心事的。

وَمَا مِن دَابَّةٍ فِي الْأَرْضِ إِلَّا عَلَى اللَّهِ رِزْقُهَا وَيَعْلَمُ مُسْتَقَرَّهَا وَمُسْتَوْدَعَهَا كُلٌّ فِي كِتَابٍ مُّبِينٍ

6a wa-mā min dābbatin fī l-ʾarḍi
6b ʾil-lā ʿalā llāhi rizqu-hā
6c wa-yaʿlamu mustaqarra-hā wa-mustawdaʿa-hā
6d kullun fī kitābin mubīnin

And there is not a beast in the earth but the sustenance thereof dependeth on Allah. He knoweth its habitation and its repository. All is in a clear Record. 6

大地上的動物，沒有一個不是由真主擔負其給養的，沒有一個不是真主知道其住所和貯藏處的。一切事物都記載在一本明確的天經中。

وَهُوَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ فِي سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ وَكَانَ عَرْشُهُ عَلَى الْمَاءِ لِيَبْلُوَكُمْ أَيُّكُمْ أَحْسَنُ عَمَلًا وَلَئِن قُلْتَ إِنَّكُم مَّبْعُوثُونَ مِن بَعْدِ الْمَوْتِ لَيَقُولَنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا إِنْ هَٰذَا إِلَّا سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ

7a wa-huwa llaḏī ḫalaqa s-samāwāti wa-l-ʾarḍa fī sittati ʾayyāmin
7b wa-kāna ʿaršu-hū ʿalā l-māʾi
7c li-yabluwa-kum
7d ʾayyu-kum ʾaḥsanu ʿamalan
7e wa-la-ʾin qulta
7f ʾinna-kum mabʿūṯūna min baʿdi l-mawti
7g la-yaqūlanna llaḏīna kafarū
7h ʾin hāḏā ʾil-lā siḥrun mubīnun

And He it is Who created the heavens and the earth in six Days - and His Throne was upon the water - that He might try you, which of you is best in conduct. Yet if thou (O Muhammad) sayest: Lo! ye will be raised again after death! those who disbelieve will surely say: This is naught but mere magic. 7

他在六日之中創造了天地萬物——他的寶座原是在水上的——以便他考驗你們，看你們中誰的工作是最優的。如果你說：「你們死後，是要復活的。」不信道的人們必定說：「這個只是明顯的魔術。」

وَلَئِنْ أَخَّرْنَا عَنْهُمُ الْعَذَابَ إِلَىٰ أُمَّةٍ مَّعْدُودَةٍ لَّيَقُولُنَّ مَا يَحْبِسُهُ أَلَا يَوْمَ يَأْتِيهِمْ لَيْسَ مَصْرُوفًا عَنْهُمْ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ

8a wa-la-ʾin ʾaḫḫarnā ʿan-humu l-ʿaḏāba ʾilā ʾummatin maʿdūdatin
8b la-yaqūlunna
8c mā yaḥbisu-hū
8d ʾa-lā yawma yaʾtī-him laysa maṣrūfan ʿan-hum
8e wa-ḥāqa bi-him mā kānū bi-hī yastahziʾūna

And if We delay for them the doom until a reckoned time, they will surely say: What withholdeth it? Verily on the day when it cometh unto them, it cannot be averted from them, and that which they derided will surround them. 8

如果我把他們應受的懲罰展緩一個可數的日期，他們必定說：「懲罰怎麼不降臨呢？」真的，在懲罰降臨他們的日子，他們將無處逃避，他們所嘲笑的懲罰將要降臨他們。

وَلَئِنْ أَذَقْنَا الْإِنسَانَ مِنَّا رَحْمَةً ثُمَّ نَزَعْنَاهَا مِنْهُ إِنَّهُ لَيَئُوسٌ كَفُورٌ

9a wa-la-ʾin ʾaḏaqnā l-ʾinsāna min-nā raḥmatan
9b ṯumma nazaʿnā-hā min-hu
9c ʾinna-hū la-yaʾūsun kafūrun

And if we cause man to taste some mercy from Us and afterward withdraw it from him, lo! he is despairing, thankless. 9

如果我使人嘗試從我發出的慈恩，然後我把那慈恩奪取了，他必定失望而且孤恩。

وَلَئِنْ أَذَقْنَاهُ نَعْمَاءَ بَعْدَ ضَرَّاءَ مَسَّتْهُ لَيَقُولَنَّ ذَهَبَ السَّيِّئَاتُ عَنِّي إِنَّهُ لَفَرِحٌ فَخُورٌ

10a wa-la-ʾin ʾaḏaqnā-hu naʿmāʾa baʿda ḍarrāʾa
10a R massat-hu
10b la-yaqūlanna
10c ḏahaba s-sayyiʾātu ʿann-ī
10d ʾinna-hū la-fariḥun faḫūrun

And if We cause him to taste grace after some misfortune that had befallen him, he saith: The ills have gone from me. Lo! he is exultant, boastful; 10

在遭遇艱難之後，如果我使他嘗試幸福，他必定說：「災害已脫離我了。」他必定欣喜而且自誇。

إِلَّا الَّذِينَ صَبَرُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ أُولَٰئِكَ لَهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌ وَأَجْرٌ كَبِيرٌ

11a ʾil-lā llaḏīna ṣabarū wa-ʿamilū ṣ-ṣāliḥāti
11b P ʾulāʾika
11b la-hum maġfiratun wa-ʾaǧrun kabīrun

Save those who persevere and do good works. Theirs will be forgiveness and a great reward. 11

但堅忍而且行善的人們，將蒙饒恕，並受重大的報酬。

فَلَعَلَّكَ تَارِكٌ بَعْضَ مَا يُوحَىٰ إِلَيْكَ وَضَائِقٌ بِهِ صَدْرُكَ أَن يَقُولُوا لَوْلَا أُنزِلَ عَلَيْهِ كَنزٌ أَوْ جَاءَ مَعَهُ مَلَكٌ إِنَّمَا أَنتَ نَذِيرٌ وَاللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَكِيلٌ

12a fa-laʿalla-ka tārikun baʿḍa mā yūḥā ʾilay-ka wa-ḍāʾiqun bi-hī ṣadru-ka
12b ʾan yaqūlū
12c law-lā ʾunzila ʿalay-hi kanzun
12d ʾaw ǧāʾa maʿa-hū malakun
12e ʾinna-mā ʾanta naḏīrun
12f wa-llāhu ʿalā kulli šayʾin wakīlun

A likely thing, that thou wouldst forsake aught of that which hath been revealed unto thee, and that thy breast should be straitened for it, because they say: Why hath not a treasure been sent down for him, or an angel come with him? Thou art but a warner, and Allah is in charge of all things. 12

你或許不肯傳達你所受的部分啟示，而且因之而煩悶，因為恐怕他們說：「為甚麼沒有一個寶藏降於他，或有一個天神與他一道來臨呢？」你只是一個警告者，真主是監護萬物的。

أَمْ يَقُولُونَ افْتَرَاهُ قُلْ فَأْتُوا بِعَشْرِ سُوَرٍ مِّثْلِهِ مُفْتَرَيَاتٍ وَادْعُوا مَنِ اسْتَطَعْتُم مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ

13a ʾam yaqūlūna
13b ftarā-hu
13c qul
13d fa-ʾtū bi-ʿašri suwarin miṯli-hī muftarayātin
13e wa-dʿū mani staṭaʿtum min dūni llāhi
13f ʾin kuntum ṣādiqīna

Or they say: He hath invented it. Say: Then bring ten surahs, the like thereof, invented, and call on everyone ye can beside Allah, if ye are truthful! 13

難道他們說他捏造經典嗎？你說：「你們試擬作十章吧。你們應當捨真主而祈禱你們所能祈禱的，倘若你們是誠實的人。」

فَإِلَّمْ يَسْتَجِيبُوا لَكُمْ فَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّمَا أُنزِلَ بِعِلْمِ اللَّهِ وَأَن لَّا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ فَهَلْ أَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ

14a fa-ʾil-lam yastaǧībū la-kum
14b fa-ʿlamū
14c ʾanna-mā ʾunzila bi-ʿilmi llāhi
14d wa-ʾan lā ʾilāha ʾil-lā huwa
14e fa-hal ʾantum muslimūna

And if they answer not your prayer, then know that it is revealed only in the knowledge of Allah; and that there is no God save Him. Will ye then be (of) those who surrender? 14

倘若他們不答應你們，那末，你們當知道這本經是依真主的知覺而降示的，並應當知道，除他外，絕無應受崇拜的。你們是順服的人嗎？

مَن كَانَ يُرِيدُ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا وَزِينَتَهَا نُوَفِّ إِلَيْهِمْ أَعْمَالَهُمْ فِيهَا وَهُمْ فِيهَا لَا يُبْخَسُونَ

15a man kāna yurīdu l-ḥayāta d-dunyā wa-zīnata-hā
15b nuwaffi ʾilay-him ʾaʿmāla-hum fī-hā
15c wa-hum fī-hā lā yubḫasūna

Whoso desireth the life of the world and its pomp, We shall repay them their deeds herein, and therein they will not be wronged. 15

凡欲享受今世生活及其裝飾的人，在今世我要使他們享受自己行為的完全的報酬；在今世，他們不受虧待。

أُولَٰئِكَ الَّذِينَ لَيْسَ لَهُمْ فِي الْآخِرَةِ إِلَّا النَّارُ وَحَبِطَ مَا صَنَعُوا فِيهَا وَبَاطِلٌ مَّا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ

16a ʾulāʾika llaḏīna laysa la-hum fī l-ʾāḫirati ʾil-lā n-nāru
16b wa-ḥabiṭa mā ṣanaʿū fī-hā
16c wa-bāṭilun mā kānū yaʿmalūna

Those are they for whom is naught in the Hereafter save the Fire. (All) that they contrive here is vain and (all) that they are wont to do is fruitless. 16

這等人在後世只得享受火獄的報酬，他們的事業將失效，他們的善行是徒然的。

أَفَمَن كَانَ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّهِ وَيَتْلُوهُ شَاهِدٌ مِّنْهُ وَمِن قَبْلِهِ كِتَابُ مُوسَىٰ إِمَامًا وَرَحْمَةً أُولَٰئِكَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِ وَمَن يَكْفُرْ بِهِ مِنَ الْأَحْزَابِ فَالنَّارُ مَوْعِدُهُ فَلَا تَكُ فِي مِرْيَةٍ مِّنْهُ إِنَّهُ الْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ

17a ʾa-fa-man kāna ʿalā bayyinatin min rabbi-hī
17b wa-yatlū-hu šāhidun min-hu
17c wa-min qabli-hī kitābu mūsā ʾimāman wa-raḥmatan
17d ʾulāʾika yuʾminūna bi-hī
17e wa-man yakfur bi-hī mina l-ʾaḥzābi
17f fa-n-nāru mawʿidu-hū
17g fa-lā taku fī miryatin min-hu
17h ʾinna-hū l-ḥaqqu min rabbi-ka
17i wa-lākinna ʾakṯara n-nāsi lā yuʾminūna

Is he (to be counted equal with them) who relieth on a clear proof from his Lord, and a witness from Him reciteth it, and before it was the Book of Moses, an example and a mercy? Such believe therein, and whoso disbelieveth therein of the clans, the Fire is his appointed place. So be not thou in doubt concerning it. Lo! it is the Truth from thy Lord; but most of mankind believe not. 17

難道這等人還不如別的人嗎？他們依據從他們的主降示的明証，而且他們的主所派遣的見証已繼那明証而來臨，在那明証之前還有穆薩的經典，那是真主所降賜的指南和慈恩。這等人是堅信那明証的。各黨派中誰不信那明証，火獄將是誰的約定的地方。所以你們不要懷疑它，它確是你的主所降示的真理，但人們大半不信。

وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ افْتَرَىٰ عَلَى اللَّهِ كَذِبًا أُولَٰئِكَ يُعْرَضُونَ عَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ وَيَقُولُ الْأَشْهَادُ هَٰؤُلَاءِ الَّذِينَ كَذَبُوا عَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ أَلَا لَعْنَةُ اللَّهِ عَلَى الظَّالِمِينَ

18a wa-man ʾaẓlamu mim-mani ftarā ʿalā llāhi kaḏiban
18b ʾulāʾika yuʿraḍūna ʿalā rabbi-him
18c wa-yaqūlu l-ʾašhādu
18d hāʾulāʾi llaḏīna kaḏabū ʿalā rabbi-him
18e ʾa-lā laʿnatu llāhi ʿalā ẓ-ẓālimīna

Who doeth greater wrong than he who inventeth a lie concerning Allah? Such will be brought before their Lord, and the witnesses will say: These are they who lied concerning their Lord. Now the curse of Allah is upon wrong-doers, 18

假借真主的名義而造謠的人，誰比他們還不義呢？這等人將受他們的主的檢閱，而見証者們將來要說：「這些人是假借他們的主的名義造謠的。」真的，真主的詛咒是要加於不義的人們的。

الَّذِينَ يَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَيَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًا وَهُم بِالْآخِرَةِ هُمْ كَافِرُونَ

19a (18eR) llaḏīna yaṣuddūna ʿan sabīli llāhi
wa-yabġūna-hā ʿiwaǧan
9b wa-hum bi-l-ʾāḫirati hum kāfirūna

Who debar (men) from the way of Allah and would have it crooked, and who are disbelievers in the Hereafter. 19

他們阻礙真主的大道，並暗示它是邪道，而且不信後世。

أُولَٰئِكَ لَمْ يَكُونُوا مُعْجِزِينَ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَمَا كَانَ لَهُم مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ مِنْ أَوْلِيَاءَ يُضَاعَفُ لَهُمُ الْعَذَابُ مَا كَانُوا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ السَّمْعَ وَمَا كَانُوا يُبْصِرُونَ

20a ʾulāʾika lam yakūnū muʿǧizīna fī l-ʾarḍi
20b wa-mā kāna la-hum min dūni llāhi min ʾawliyāʾa
20c yuḍāʿafu la-humu l-ʿaḏābu
20d mā kānū yastaṭīʿūna s-samʿa
20e wa-mā kānū yubṣirūna

Such will not escape in the earth, nor have they any protecting friends beside Allah. For them the torment will be double. They could not bear to hear, and they used not to see. 20

這等人在大地上絕不能逃避天譴。除真主外，他們絕無保護者。他們將受到加倍的懲罰。他們未能聽從，也未觀察。

أُولَٰئِكَ الَّذِينَ خَسِرُوا أَنفُسَهُمْ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا يَفْتَرُونَ

21a ʾulāʾika llaḏīna ḫasirū ʾanfusa-hum
21b wa-ḍalla ʿan-hum mā kānū yaftarūna

Such are they who have lost their souls, and that which they used to invent hath failed them. 21

這等人是自虧的。他們所捏造的，已回避他們了。

لَا جَرَمَ أَنَّهُمْ فِي الْآخِرَةِ هُمُ الْأَخْسَرُونَ

22 lā ǧarama ʾanna-hum fī l-ʾāḫirati humu l-ʾaḫsarūna

Assuredly in the Hereafter they will be the greatest losers. 22

毫無疑義，他們在後世是最虧折的。

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَأَخْبَتُوا إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ أُولَٰئِكَ أَصْحَابُ الْجَنَّةِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ

23a P ʾinna llaḏīna ʾāmanū wa-ʿamilū ṣ-ṣāliḥāti wa-ʾaḫbatū ʾilā rabbi-him
23a ʾulāʾika ʾaṣḥābu l-ǧannati
23b hum fī-hā ḫālidūna

Lo! those who believe and do good works and humble themselves before their Lord: such are rightful owners of the Garden; they will abide therein. 23

信道而且行善，並對真主表示謙遜的人，他們確是樂園的居民，將永居其中。

مَثَلُ الْفَرِيقَيْنِ كَالْأَعْمَىٰ وَالْأَصَمِّ وَالْبَصِيرِ وَالسَّمِيعِ هَلْ يَسْتَوِيَانِ مَثَلًا أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ

24a maṯalu l-farīqayni ka-l-ʾaʿmā wa-l-ʾaṣammi wa-l-baṣīri wa-s-samīʿi
24b hal yastawiyāni maṯalan
24c ʾa-fa-lā taḏakkarūna

The similitude of the two parties is as the blind and the deaf and the seer and the hearer. Are they equal in similitude? Will ye not then be admonished? 24

有兩派人，這一派譬如是又瞎又聾的人，那－派譬如是又明又聰的人，難道這兩派彼此的情況是一樣的嗎？你們怎麼不覺悟呢？

وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِ إِنِّي لَكُمْ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ

25a wa-la-qad ʾarsalnā nūḥan ʾilā qawmi-hī
25b ʾin-nī la-kum naḏīrun mubīnun

And We sent Noah unto his folk (and he said): Lo! I am a plain warner unto you. 25

我確已派遣努哈去教化他的宗族說：「我對你們確是一個坦率的警告者。

أَن لَّا تَعْبُدُوا إِلَّا اللَّهَ إِنِّي أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ أَلِيمٍ

26a ʾan lā taʿbudū ʾil-lā llāha
26b ʾin-nī ʾaḫāfu ʿalay-kum ʿaḏāba yawmin ʾalīmin

That ye serve none, save Allah. Lo! I fear for you the retribution of a painful Day. 26

除真主外，你們不要崇拜任何物。我的確怕你們遭受痛苦日的懲罰。」

فَقَالَ الْمَلَأُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِن قَوْمِهِ مَا نَرَاكَ إِلَّا بَشَرًا مِّثْلَنَا وَمَا نَرَاكَ اتَّبَعَكَ إِلَّا الَّذِينَ هُمْ أَرَاذِلُنَا بَادِيَ الرَّأْيِ وَمَا نَرَىٰ لَكُمْ عَلَيْنَا مِن فَضْلٍ بَلْ نَظُنُّكُمْ كَاذِبِينَ

27a fa-qāla l-malaʾu
27a R llaḏīna kafarū
27a min qawmi-hī
27b mā narā-ka ʾil-lā bašaran miṯla-nā
27c wa-mā narā-ka
27d ttabaʿa-ka ʾil-lā llaḏīna hum ʾarāḏilu-nā
bādiya r-raʾyi
27e wa-mā narā la-kum ʿalay-nā min faḍlin
27f bal naẓunnu-kum kāḏibīna

The chieftains of his folk, who disbelieved, said: We see thee but a mortal like us, and we see not that any follow thee save the most abject among us, without reflection. We behold in you no merit above us - nay, we deem you liars. 27

但他的宗族中不信道的貴族說：「我們認為你只是像我們一樣的一個凡人，我們認為只有我們中那些最卑賤的人們才輕率地順從你，我們認為你們不比我們優越。我們甚至相信你們是說謊的。」

قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِن كُنتُ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّي وَآتَانِي رَحْمَةً مِّنْ عِندِهِ فَعُمِّيَتْ عَلَيْكُمْ أَنُلْزِمُكُمُوهَا وَأَنتُمْ لَهَا كَارِهُونَ

28a qāla
28b V yā-qawm-i
28b ʾa-raʾaytum
28c ʾin kuntu ʿalā bayyinatin min rabb-ī
28d wa-ʾātā-nī raḥmatan min ʿindi-hī
28e fa-ʿummiyat ʿalay-kum
28f ʾa-nulzimu-kumū-hā
28g wa-ʾantum la-hā kārihūna

He said: O my people! Bethink you, if I rely on a clear proof from my Lord and there hath come unto me a mercy from His presence, and it hath been made obscure to you, can we compel you to accept it when ye are averse thereto? 28

他說：「我的宗族啊！你們告訴我吧，如果我是依據從我的主降示的明証的，並且曾受過從他那裡發出的慈恩，但那個明証對於你們是模糊的，難道你們憎惡它，而我們強迫你們接受它嗎？

وَيَا قَوْمِ لَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مَالًا إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَى اللَّهِ وَمَا أَنَا بِطَارِدِ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنَّهُم مُّلَاقُو رَبِّهِمْ وَلَٰكِنِّي أَرَاكُمْ قَوْمًا تَجْهَلُونَ

29a V wa-yā-qawm-i
29a lā ʾasʾalu-kum ʿalay-hi mālan
29b ʾin ʾaǧr-iya ʾil-lā ʿalā llāhi
29c wa-mā ʾanā bi-ṭāridi llaḏīna ʾāmanū
29d ʾinna-hum mulāqū rabbi-him
29e wa-lākin-nī ʾarā-kum qawman
29e R taǧhalūna

And O my people! I ask of you no wealth therefor. My reward is the concern only of Allah, and I am not going to thrust away those who believe - Lo! they have to meet their Lord! - but I see you a folk that are ignorant. 29

我的宗族啊！我不為傳達使命而向你們索取錢財，我的報酬只歸真主負擔。我不驅逐信道的人們。他們必定要會見他們的主，但我認為你們是無知的民眾。

وَيَا قَوْمِ مَن يَنصُرُنِي مِنَ اللَّهِ إِن طَرَدتُّهُمْ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ

30a V wa-yā-qawm-i
30a man yanṣuru-nī mina llāhi
30b ʾin ṭaradtu-hum
30c ʾa-fa-lā taḏakkarūna

And, O my people! who would deliver me from Allah if I thrust them away? Will ye not then reflect? 30

我的宗族啊！如果我驅逐他們，那末，誰能保護我不受真主的懲罰？你們怎麼不覺悟呢？

وَلَا أَقُولُ لَكُمْ عِندِي خَزَائِنُ اللَّهِ وَلَا أَعْلَمُ الْغَيْبَ وَلَا أَقُولُ إِنِّي مَلَكٌ وَلَا أَقُولُ لِلَّذِينَ تَزْدَرِي أَعْيُنُكُمْ لَن يُؤْتِيَهُمُ اللَّهُ خَيْرًا اللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا فِي أَنفُسِهِمْ إِنِّي إِذًا لَّمِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ

31a wa-lā ʾaqūlu la-kum
31b ʿind-ī ḫazāʾinu llāhi
31c wa-lā ʾaʿlamu l-ġayba
31d wa-lā ʾaqūlu
31e ʾin-nī malakun
31f wa-lā ʾaqūlu li-llaḏīna tazdarī ʾaʿyunu-kum
31g lan yuʾtiya-humu llāhu ḫayrani
31h llāhu ʾaʿlamu bi-mā fī ʾanfusi-him
31i ʾin-nī ʾiḏan la-mina ẓ-ẓālimīna

I say not unto you: "I have the treasures of Allah" nor "I have knowledge of the Unseen," nor say I: "Lo! I am an angel!" Nor say I unto those whom your eyes scorn that Allah will not give them good - Allah knoweth best what is in their hearts - Lo! then indeed I should be of the wrong-doers. 31

我不對你們說我有真主的寶藏，也不說我知道幽玄，也不說我確是一個天神，也不說你們所藐視的人，真主絕不賞賜他們任何福利——真主是知道他們的事情的——否則，我必是一個不義的人。」

قَالُوا يَا نُوحُ قَدْ جَادَلْتَنَا فَأَكْثَرْتَ جِدَالَنَا فَأْتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَا إِن كُنتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ

32a qālū
32b V yā-nūḥu
32b qad ǧādalta-nā
32c fa-ʾakṯarta ǧidāla-nā
32d fa-ʾti-nā bi-mā taʿidu-nā
32e ʾin kunta mina ṣ-ṣādiqīna

They said: O Noah! Thou hast disputed with us and multiplied disputation with us; now bring upon us that wherewith thou threatenest us, if thou art of the truthful. 32

他們說：「努哈啊！你確已和我們爭論，而且爭論得太多了，你昭示我們你用來嚇唬我們的懲罰吧，如果你是一個誠實的人。」

قَالَ إِنَّمَا يَأْتِيكُم بِهِ اللَّهُ إِن شَاءَ وَمَا أَنتُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ

33a qāla
33b ʾinna-mā yaʾtī-kum bi-hī llāhu
33c ʾin šāʾa
33d wa-mā ʾantum bi-muʿǧizīna

He said: Only Allah will bring it upon you if He will, and ye can by no means escape. 33

他說：「只有真主能使懲罰降臨你們，如果他意欲，你們絕不能逃避天譴。

وَلَا يَنفَعُكُمْ نُصْحِي إِنْ أَرَدتُّ أَنْ أَنصَحَ لَكُمْ إِن كَانَ اللَّهُ يُرِيدُ أَن يُغْوِيَكُمْ هُوَ رَبُّكُمْ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ

34a wa-lā yanfaʿu-kum nuṣḥ-ī
34b ʾin ʾaradtu
34c ʾan ʾanṣaḥa la-kum
34d ʾin kāna llāhu yurīdu
34e ʾan yuġwiya-kum
34f huwa rabbu-kum
34g wa-ʾilay-hi turǧaʿūna

My counsel will not profit you if I were minded to advise you, if Allah’s will is to keep you astray. He is your Lord and unto Him ye will be brought back. 34

如果我欲忠告你們，而真主欲使你們迷誤，那我的忠告是無濟於你們的。他是你們的主，你們只被召歸於他。」

أَمْ يَقُولُونَ افْتَرَاهُ قُلْ إِنِ افْتَرَيْتُهُ فَعَلَيَّ إِجْرَامِي وَأَنَا بَرِيءٌ مِّمَّا تُجْرِمُونَ

35a ʾam yaqūlūna
35b ftarā-hu
35c qul
35d ʾini ftaraytu-hū
35e fa-ʿalay-ya ʾiǧrām-ī
35f wa-ʾanā barīʾun mim-mā tuǧrimūna

Or say they (again): He hath invented it? Say: If I have invented it, upon me be my crimes, but I am innocent of (all) that ye commit. 35

難道他們說他偽造經典嗎？你說：「如果我偽造經典，我自負我的罪責，我與你們所犯的罪行無關。」

وَأُوحِيَ إِلَىٰ نُوحٍ أَنَّهُ لَن يُؤْمِنَ مِن قَوْمِكَ إِلَّا مَن قَدْ آمَنَ فَلَا تَبْتَئِسْ بِمَا كَانُوا يَفْعَلُونَ

36a wa-ʾūḥiya ʾilā nūḥin
36b ʾanna-hū lan yuʾmina min qawmi-ka ʾil-lā man qad ʾāmana
36c fa-lā tabtaʾis bi-mā kānū yafʿalūna

And it was inspired in Noah, (saying): No-one of thy folk will believe save him who hath believed already. Be not distressed because of what they do. 36

努哈奉到啟示說：「你的宗族中除已歸信者外，絕不會再有人歸信你，故你不要為他們的行為而悲傷。

وَاصْنَعِ الْفُلْكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا وَوَحْيِنَا وَلَا تُخَاطِبْنِي فِي الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا إِنَّهُم مُّغْرَقُونَ

37a wa-ṣnaʿi l-fulka bi-ʾaʿyuni-nā wa-waḥyi-nā
37b wa-lā tuḫāṭib-nī fī llaḏīna ẓalamū
37c ʾinna-hum muġraqūna

Build the ship under Our eyes and by Our inspiration, and speak not unto Me on behalf of those who do wrong. Lo! they will be drowned. 37

你應當在我的監視下，依我的啟示而造船。你不要為不義的人們而祈禱我，他們必定要被淹死。」

وَيَصْنَعُ الْفُلْكَ وَكُلَّمَا مَرَّ عَلَيْهِ مَلَأٌ مِّن قَوْمِهِ سَخِرُوا مِنْهُ قَالَ إِن تَسْخَرُوا مِنَّا فَإِنَّا نَسْخَرُ مِنكُمْ كَمَا تَسْخَرُونَ

38a wa-yaṣnaʿu l-fulka
38b wa-kulla-mā marra ʿalay-hi malaʾun min qawmi-hī
38c saḫirū min-hu
38d qāla
38e ʾin tasḫarū min-nā
38f fa-ʾin-nā nasḫaru min-kum
38g ka-mā tasḫarūna

And he was building the ship, and every time that chieftains of his people passed him, they made mock of him. He said: Though ye make mock of Us, yet We mock at you even as ye mock; 38

他正在造船。他的宗族中的貴族們每逢從他面前走過，都嘲笑他，他說：「如果你們嘲笑我們，我們也必定要像你們嘲笑我們一樣嘲笑你們。

فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ مَن يَأْتِيهِ عَذَابٌ يُخْزِيهِ وَيَحِلُّ عَلَيْهِ عَذَابٌ مُّقِيمٌ

39a fa-sawfa taʿlamūna man yaʾtī-hi ʿaḏābun
39a R yuḫzī-hi
39b wa-yaḥillu ʿalay-hi ʿaḏābun muqīmun

And ye shall know to whom a punishment that will confound him cometh, and upon whom a lasting doom will fall. 39

你們將來就知道誰要受凌辱的懲罰，誰要遭永久的懲治。」

حَتَّىٰ إِذَا جَاءَ أَمْرُنَا وَفَارَ التَّنُّورُ قُلْنَا احْمِلْ فِيهَا مِن كُلٍّ زَوْجَيْنِ اثْنَيْنِ وَأَهْلَكَ إِلَّا مَن سَبَقَ عَلَيْهِ الْقَوْلُ وَمَنْ آمَنَ وَمَا آمَنَ مَعَهُ إِلَّا قَلِيلٌ

40a ḥattā
40b ʾiḏā ǧāʾa ʾamru-nā
40c wa-fāra t-tannūru
40a qulnā
40d ḥmil fī-hā min kullin zawǧayni ṯnayni wa-ʾahla-ka
ʾil-lā man sabaqa ʿalay-hi l-qawlu wa-man ʾāmana
40e wa-mā ʾāmana maʿa-hū ʾil-lā qalīlun

(Thus it was) till, when Our commandment came to pass and the oven gushed forth water, We said: Load therein two of every kind, a pair (the male and female), and thy household, save him against whom the word hath gone forth already, and those who believe. And but a few were they who believed with him. 40

等到我的命令來臨而洪水從地面湧出的時候，我說：「你把每種動物各拿一對放在船裡，並使你的家屬——除已被判決者外——和信道的人們一起上船去。」只有少數人同他一起信道。

وَقَالَ ارْكَبُوا فِيهَا بِسْمِ اللَّهِ مَجْرَاهَا وَمُرْسَاهَا إِنَّ رَبِّي لَغَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ

41a wa-qāla
41b rkabū fī-hā
41c bi-smi llāhi maǧrā-hā wa-mursā-hā
41d ʾinna rabb-ī la-ġafūrun raḥīmun

And he said: Embark therein! In the name of Allah be its course and its mooring. Lo! my Lord is Forgiving, Merciful. 41

他說：「你們上船去吧！這隻船的航行和停舶都是奉真主之名的。我的主確是至赦的，確是至慈的。」

وَهِيَ تَجْرِي بِهِمْ فِي مَوْجٍ كَالْجِبَالِ وَنَادَىٰ نُوحٌ ابْنَهُ وَكَانَ فِي مَعْزِلٍ يَا بُنَيَّ ارْكَب مَّعَنَا وَلَا تَكُن مَّعَ الْكَافِرِينَ

42a wa-hiya taǧrī bi-him fī mawǧin ka-l-ǧibāli
42b wa-nādā nūḥunu bna-hū
42c wa-kāna fī maʿzilin
42d V yā-bunay-ya
42d rkab maʿa-nā
42e wa-lā takun maʿa l-kāfirīna

And it sailed with them amid waves like mountains, and Noah cried unto his son - and he was standing aloof - O my son! Come ride with us, and be not with the disbelievers. 42

那隻船載著他們航行於山岳般的波濤之間。努哈喊叫他兒子——那時他遠在船外——說：「我的孩子啊！你來和我們一道乘船吧！你不要同不信道的人們在一起。」

قَالَ سَآوِي إِلَىٰ جَبَلٍ يَعْصِمُنِي مِنَ الْمَاءِ قَالَ لَا عَاصِمَ الْيَوْمَ مِنْ أَمْرِ اللَّهِ إِلَّا مَن رَّحِمَ وَحَالَ بَيْنَهُمَا الْمَوْجُ فَكَانَ مِنَ الْمُغْرَقِينَ

43a qāla
43b sa-ʾawī ʾilā ǧabalin
43c yaʿṣimu-nī mina l-māʾi
43d qāla
43e lā ʿāṣima l-yawma min ʾamri llāhi ʾil-lā man raḥima
43f wa-ḥāla bayna-humā l-mawǧu
43g fa-kāna mina l-muġraqīna

He said: I shall betake me to some mountain that will save me from the water. (Noah) said: This day there is none that saveth from the commandment of Allah save him on whom He hath had mercy. And the wave came in between them, so he was among the drowned. 43

他兒子說：「我要到一座山上去躲避洪水。」他說：「今天，除真主所憐憫的人外，絕沒有任何人能保護別人不受真主的懲罰。」波濤隔開了他們倆，他就被淹死了。

وَقِيلَ يَا أَرْضُ ابْلَعِي مَاءَكِ وَيَا سَمَاءُ أَقْلِعِي وَغِيضَ الْمَاءُ وَقُضِيَ الْأَمْرُ وَاسْتَوَتْ عَلَى الْجُودِيِّ وَقِيلَ بُعْدًا لِّلْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ

44a wa-qīla
44b V yā-ʾarḍu
44b blaʿī māʾa-ki
44c V wa-yā-samāʾu
44c ʾaqliʿī
44d wa-ġīḍa l-māʾu
44e wa-quḍiya l-ʾamru
44f wa-stawat ʿalā l-ǧūdīyi
44g wa-qīla
44h buʿdan li-l-qawmi ẓ-ẓālimīna

And it was said: O earth! Swallow thy water and, O sky! be cleared of clouds! And the water was made to subside. And the commandment was fulfilled. And it (the ship) came to rest upon (the mount) Al-Judi and it was said: A far removal for wrongdoing folk! 44

有人說：「地啊！汲乾你上面的水吧！雲啊！散開吧！」於是洪水退去了，事情就被判決了。船停舶在朱迭山上。有人說：「不義的人們已遭毀滅了。」

وَنَادَىٰ نُوحٌ رَّبَّهُ فَقَالَ رَبِّ إِنَّ ابْنِي مِنْ أَهْلِي وَإِنَّ وَعْدَكَ الْحَقُّ وَأَنتَ أَحْكَمُ الْحَاكِمِينَ

45a wa-nādā nūḥun rabba-hū
45b fa-qāla
45c V rabb-i
45c ʾinna bn-ī min ʾahl-ī
45d wa-ʾinna waʿda-ka l-ḥaqqu
45e wa-ʾanta ʾaḥkamu l-ḥākimīna

And Noah cried unto his Lord and said: My Lord! Lo! my son is of my household! Surely Thy promise is the truth and Thou are the Most Just of Judges. 45

努哈祈禱他的主說：「我的主啊！我的兒子是我的親人，你的諾言是真實的，你是最公正的判決者。」

قَالَ يَا نُوحُ إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ مِنْ أَهْلِكَ إِنَّهُ عَمَلٌ غَيْرُ صَالِحٍ فَلَا تَسْأَلْنِ مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِ عِلْمٌ إِنِّي أَعِظُكَ أَن تَكُونَ مِنَ الْجَاهِلِينَ

46a qāla
46b V yā-nūḥu
46c ʾinna-hū laysa min ʾahlika
46d ʾinna-hū ʿamalun ġayru ṣāliḥin
46e fa-lā tasʾal-ni mā laysa la-ka bi-hī ʿilmun
46f ʾin-nī ʾaʿiẓu-ka
46g ʾan takūna mina l-ǧāhilīna

He said: O Noah! Lo! he is not of thy household; lo! he is of evil conduct, so ask not of Me that whereof thou hast no knowledge. I admonish thee lest thou be among the ignorant. 46

主說：「努哈啊！他的確不是你的家屬，他是作惡的，你不要向我祈求你所不知道的事情。我勸你不要自居於愚人之列。」

قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أَسْأَلَكَ مَا لَيْسَ لِي بِهِ عِلْمٌ وَإِلَّا تَغْفِرْ لِي وَتَرْحَمْنِي أَكُن مِّنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ

47a qāla
47b V rabb-i
47b ʾin-nī ʾaʿūḏu bi-ka
47c ʾan ʾasʾala-ka mā laysa l-ī bi-hī ʿilmun
47d wa-ʾil-lā taġfir l-ī
47e wa-tarḥam-nī
47f ʾakun mina l-ḫāsirīna

He said: My Lord! Lo! in Thee do I seek refuge (from the sin) that I should ask of Thee that whereof I have no knowledge. Unless Thou forgive me and have mercy on me I shall be among the lost. 47

他說：「我的主啊！我求庇於你，以免我向你祈求我所不知道的事情，如果你不饒恕我，不憐憫我，我就變成為虧折的人了。」

قِيلَ يَا نُوحُ اهْبِطْ بِسَلَامٍ مِّنَّا وَبَرَكَاتٍ عَلَيْكَ وَعَلَىٰ أُمَمٍ مِّمَّن مَّعَكَ وَأُمَمٌ سَنُمَتِّعُهُمْ ثُمَّ يَمَسُّهُم مِّنَّا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ

48a qīla
48b V yā-nūḥu
48b hbiṭ bi-salāmin min-nā wa-barakātin ʿalay-ka
wa-ʿalā ʾumamin mim-man maʿa-ka
48c P wa-ʾumamun
48c sa-numattiʿu-hum
48d ṯumma yamassu-hum min-nā ʿaḏābun ʾalīmun

It was said (unto him): O Noah! Go thou down (from the mountain) with peace from Us and blessings upon thee and some nations (that will spring) from those with thee. (There will be other) nations unto whom We shall give enjoyment a long while and then a painful doom from Us will overtake them. 48

有人說：「努哈啊！你下船吧！從我發出的平安和幸福，將要降臨你和與你同船的人的部分後裔。他們的另一部分後裔，我將使他們享受，然後，他們將遭受從我發出的痛苦的懲罰。」

تِلْكَ مِنْ أَنبَاءِ الْغَيْبِ نُوحِيهَا إِلَيْكَ مَا كُنتَ تَعْلَمُهَا أَنتَ وَلَا قَوْمُكَ مِن قَبْلِ هَٰذَا فَاصْبِرْ إِنَّ الْعَاقِبَةَ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ

49a tilka min ʾanbāʾi l-ġaybi
49b nūḥī-hā ʾilay-ka mā
49c kunta taʿlamu-hā ʾanta wa-lā qawmu-ka min qabli hāḏā
49d fa-ṣbir
49e ʾinna l-ʿāqibata li-l-muttaqīna

This is of the tidings of the Unseen which We inspire in thee (Muhammad). Thou thyself knewest it not, nor did thy folk (know it) before this. Then have patience. Lo! the sequel is for those who ward off (evil). 49

這是部分幽玄的消息，我把它啟示你。以前，你和你的宗族都不知道它，故你應當堅忍。善果歸於敬畏的人們。

وَإِلَىٰ عَادٍ أَخَاهُمْ هُودًا قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُ إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا مُفْتَرُونَ

50a wa-ʾilā ʿādin ʾaḫā-hum hūdan
50b qāla
50c V yā-qawm-i
50d ʿbudū llāha
50e mā la-kum min ʾilāhin ġayru-hū
50f ʾin ʾantum ʾil-lā muftarūna

And unto (the tribe of) A’ad (We sent) their brother, Hud. He said: O my people! Serve Allah! Ye have no other Allah save Him. Lo! ye do but invent. 50

我確已派遣阿德人的弟兄呼德去教化他們，他說：「我的宗族啊！你們應當崇拜真主，除他外，絕無應受你們崇拜的。你們只是造謠者。

يَا قَوْمِ لَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَى الَّذِي فَطَرَنِي أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ

51a V yā-qawm-i
51a lā ʾasʾalu-kum ʿalay-hi ʾaǧran
51b ʾin ʾaǧr-iya ʾil-lā ʿalā llaḏī faṭara-nī
51c ʾa-fa-lā taʿqilūna

O my people! I ask of you no reward for it. Lo! my reward is the concern only of Him Who made me. Have ye then no sense? 51

我的宗族啊！我不為傳達使命而向你們索取報酬，我的報酬只由造化我的主宰負擔。難道你們不理解嗎？

وَيَا قَوْمِ اسْتَغْفِرُوا رَبَّكُمْ ثُمَّ تُوبُوا إِلَيْهِ يُرْسِلِ السَّمَاءَ عَلَيْكُم مِّدْرَارًا وَيَزِدْكُمْ قُوَّةً إِلَىٰ قُوَّتِكُمْ وَلَا تَتَوَلَّوْا مُجْرِمِينَ

52a V wa-yā-qawm-i
52a staġfirū rabba-kum
52b ṯumma tūbū ʾilay-hi
52c yursili s-samāʾa ʿalay-kum midrāran
52d wa-yazid-kum qūwatan ʾilā qūwati-kum
52e wa-lā tatawallaw muǧrimīna

And, O my people! Ask forgiveness of your Lord, then turn unto Him repentant; He will cause the sky to rain abundance on you and will add unto you strength to your strength. Turn not away, guilty! 52

我的宗族啊！你們應當向你們的主求饒，然後歸依他，他就把充足的雨水降給你們，並使你們更加富強。你們不要背離（正道）而犯罪。」

قَالُوا يَا هُودُ مَا جِئْتَنَا بِبَيِّنَةٍ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِتَارِكِي آلِهَتِنَا عَن قَوْلِكَ وَمَا نَحْنُ لَكَ بِمُؤْمِنِينَ

53a qālū
53b V yā-hūdu
53b mā ǧiʾta-nā bi-bayyinatin
53c wa-mā naḥnu bi-tārikī ʾālihati-nā ʿan qawli-ka
53d wa-mā naḥnu la-ka bi-muʾminīna

They said: O Hud! Thou hast brought us no clear proof and we are not going to forsake our gods on thy (mere) saying, and we are not believers in thee. 53

他們說：「呼德啊！你沒有昭示我們任何明証，我們絕不為你的言論而拋棄我們的神靈，我們並不歸信你。

إِن نَّقُولُ إِلَّا اعْتَرَاكَ بَعْضُ آلِهَتِنَا بِسُوءٍ قَالَ إِنِّي أُشْهِدُ اللَّهَ وَاشْهَدُوا أَنِّي بَرِيءٌ مِّمَّا تُشْرِكُونَ

54a ʾin naqūlu
54b ʾil-lā ʿtarā-ka baʿḍu ʾālihati-nā bi-sūʾin
54c qāla
54d ʾin-nī ʾušhidu llāha
54e wa-šhadū
54f ʾan-nī barīʾun mim-mā tušrikūna

We say naught save that one of our gods hath possessed thee in an evil way. He said: I call Allah to witness, and do ye (too) bear witness, that I am innocent of (all) that ye ascribe as partners (to Allah) 54

我們只想說，我們的一部分神靈使你發狂。」他說：「我求真主作証，你們也應當作証，我對於你們所用以配真主的（偶像）確是無干的。

مِن دُونِهِ فَكِيدُونِي جَمِيعًا ثُمَّ لَا تُنظِرُونِ

55a min dūni-hī
55b fa-kīdū-nī ǧamīʿan
55c ṯumma lā tunẓirū-ni

Beside Him. So (try to) circumvent me, all of you, give me no respite. 55

你們群起而謀害我吧！而且不要寬恕我。

إِنِّي تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللَّهِ رَبِّي وَرَبِّكُم مَّا مِن دَابَّةٍ إِلَّا هُوَ آخِذٌ بِنَاصِيَتِهَا إِنَّ رَبِّي عَلَىٰ صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ

56a ʾin-nī tawakkaltu ʿalā llāhi rabb-ī wa-rabbi-kum
56b mā min dābbatin ʾil-lā huwa ʾāḫiḏun bi-nāṣiyati-hā
56c ʾinna rabb-ī ʿalā ṣirāṭin mustaqīmin

Lo! I have put my trust in Allah, my Lord and your Lord. Not an animal but He doth grasp it by the forelock! Lo! my Lord is on a straight path. 56

我的確信托真主——我的主和你們的主，沒有一種動物不歸他管轄。我的主確是在正路上的。

فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا فَقَدْ أَبْلَغْتُكُم مَّا أُرْسِلْتُ بِهِ إِلَيْكُمْ وَيَسْتَخْلِفُ رَبِّي قَوْمًا غَيْرَكُمْ وَلَا تَضُرُّونَهُ شَيْئًا إِنَّ رَبِّي عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ حَفِيظٌ

57a fa-ʾin tawallaw
57b fa-qad ʾablaġtu-kum mā ʾursiltu bi-hī ʾilay-kum
57c wa-yastaḫlifu rabb-ī qawman ġayra-kum
57d wa-lā taḍurrūna-hū šayʾan
57e ʾinna rabb-ī ʿalā kulli šayʾin ḥafīẓun

And if ye turn away, still I have conveyed unto you that wherewith I was sent unto you, and my Lord will set in place of you a folk other than you. Ye cannot injure Him at all. Lo! my Lord is Guardian over all things. 57

如果你們違背正道，那末，我確已把我所奉的使命傳達給你們了，我的主將以別的民眾代替你們，你們一點也不能傷害他。我的主確是監護萬物的。」

وَلَمَّا جَاءَ أَمْرُنَا نَجَّيْنَا هُودًا وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مَعَهُ بِرَحْمَةٍ مِّنَّا وَنَجَّيْنَاهُم مِّنْ عَذَابٍ غَلِيظٍ

58a wa-lammā ǧāʾa ʾamru-nā
58b naǧǧaynā hūdan wa-llaḏīna ʾāmanū maʿa-hū bi-raḥmatin min-nā
58c wa-naǧǧaynā-hum min ʿaḏābin ġalīẓin

And when Our commandment came to pass We saved Hud and those who believed with him by a mercy from Us; We saved them from a harsh doom. 58

當我的命令降臨的時候，我因為從我發出的慈恩拯救了呼德和同他在一起信道的人們，我使他們免遭嚴厲的懲罰。

وَتِلْكَ عَادٌ جَحَدُوا بِآيَاتِ رَبِّهِمْ وَعَصَوْا رُسُلَهُ وَاتَّبَعُوا أَمْرَ كُلِّ جَبَّارٍ عَنِيدٍ

59a wa-tilka ʿādun
59b ǧaḥadū bi-ʾāyāti rabbi-him
59b wa-ʿaṣaw rusula-hū
59c wa-ttabaʿū ʾamra kulli ǧabbārin ʿanīdin

And such were A’ad. They denied the revelations of their Lord and flouted His messengers and followed the command of every froward potentate. 59

這些阿德人曾否認他們的主的蹟象，並違抗他們族中的使者，而且順從每個頑固的暴虐者的命令。

وَأُتْبِعُوا فِي هَٰذِهِ الدُّنْيَا لَعْنَةً وَيَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَلَا إِنَّ عَادًا كَفَرُوا رَبَّهُمْ أَلَا بُعْدًا لِّعَادٍ قَوْمِ هُودٍ

60a wa-ʾutbiʿū fī hāḏihī d-dunyā laʿnatan wa-yawma l-qiyāmati
60b ʾa-lā ʾinna ʿādan kafarū rabba-hum
60c ʾa-lā buʿdan li-ʿādin qawmi hūdin

And a curse was made to follow them in the world and on the Day of Resurrection. Lo! A’ad disbelieved in their Lord. A far removal for A’ad, the folk of Hud! 60

他們在今世和復活日，永遭詛咒。真的，阿德人確已否認他們的主。真的！阿德人——呼德的宗族——願他們遭受毀滅！

وَإِلَىٰ ثَمُودَ أَخَاهُمْ صَالِحًا قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُ هُوَ أَنشَأَكُم مِّنَ الْأَرْضِ وَاسْتَعْمَرَكُمْ فِيهَا فَاسْتَغْفِرُوهُ ثُمَّ تُوبُوا إِلَيْهِ إِنَّ رَبِّي قَرِيبٌ مُّجِيبٌ

61a wa-ʾilā ṯamūda ʾaḫā-hum ṣāliḥan
61b qāla
61c V yāqawm-i
61c ʿbudū llāha
61d mā la-kum min ʾilāhin ġayru-hū
61e huwa ʾanšaʾa-kum mina l-ʾarḍi
61f wa-staʿmara-kum fī-hā
61g fa-staġfirū-hu
61h ṯumma tūbū ʾilay-hi
61i ʾinna rabb-ī qarībun muǧībun

And unto (the tribe of) Thamud (We sent) their brother Salih. He said: O my people! Serve Allah, Ye have no other Allah save Him. He brought you forth from the earth and hath made you husband it. So ask forgiveness of Him and turn unto Him repentant. Lo! my Lord is Nigh, Responsive. 61

我確已派遣賽莫德人的弟兄撒立哈去教化他們，他說：「我的宗族啊！你們應當崇拜真主，除他外，絕無應受你們崇拜的。他用地上的土創造你們，並使你們在大地上居住，故你們應當向他求饒，然後歸依他。我的主確是臨近的，確是有求必應的。」

قَالُوا يَا صَالِحُ قَدْ كُنتَ فِينَا مَرْجُوًّا قَبْلَ هَٰذَا أَتَنْهَانَا أَن نَّعْبُدَ مَا يَعْبُدُ آبَاؤُنَا وَإِنَّنَا لَفِي شَكٍّ مِّمَّا تَدْعُونَا إِلَيْهِ مُرِيبٍ

62a qālū
62b V yā-ṣāliḥu
62b qad kunta fī-nā marǧūwan qabla hāḏā
62c ʾa-tanhā-nā
62d ʾan naʿbuda mā yaʿbudu ʾābāʾu-nā
62e wa-ʾinna-nā la-fī šakkin mim-mā tadʿūna ʾilay-hi murībin

They said: O Salih! Thou hast been among us hitherto as that wherein our hope was placed. Dost thou ask us not to worship what our fathers worshipped? Lo! we verily are in grave doubt concerning that to which thou callest us. 62

他們說：「撒立哈啊！以前，你在我們中間是眾望所歸的，難道你禁止我們崇拜我們祖先所崇拜的（偶像）嗎？我們對於你用以號召我們的事確在令人不安的懷疑之中。」

قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِن كُنتُ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّي وَآتَانِي مِنْهُ رَحْمَةً فَمَن يَنصُرُنِي مِنَ اللَّهِ إِنْ عَصَيْتُهُ فَمَا تَزِيدُونَنِي غَيْرَ تَخْسِيرٍ

63a qāla
63b V yā-qawm-i
63b ʾa-raʾaytum
63c ʾin kuntu ʿalā bayyinatin min rabb-ī
63d wa-ʾātā-nī min-hu raḥmatan
63e fa-man yanṣuru-nī mina llāhi
63f ʾin ʿaṣaytu-hū
63g fa-mā tazīdūna-nī ġayra taḫsīrin

He said: O my people! Bethink you: if I am (acting) on clear proof from my Lord and there hath come unto me a mercy from Him, who will save me from Allah if I disobey Him? Ye would add to me naught save perdition. 63

他說：「我的宗族啊！你們告訴我吧！如果我是依據從我的主降示的明証的，並且他曾將從自己發出的慈恩賞賜了我，那末，如果我違抗了真主，誰能保証我不受他的懲罰呢？你們只能使我遭受更大的損失。

وَيَا قَوْمِ هَٰذِهِ نَاقَةُ اللَّهِ لَكُمْ آيَةً فَذَرُوهَا تَأْكُلْ فِي أَرْضِ اللَّهِ وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوءٍ فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابٌ قَرِيبٌ

64a V wa-yā-qawm-i
64a hāḏihī nāqatu llāhi
la-kum ʾāyatan
64b fa-ḏarū-hā
64c taʾkul fī ʾarḍi llāhi
64d wa-lā tamassū-hā bi-sūʾin
64e fa-yaʾḫuḏa-kum ʿaḏābun qarībun

O my people! This is the camel of Allah, a token unto you, so suffer her to feed in Allah’s earth, and touch her not with harm lest a near torment seize you. 64

我的宗族啊！這是真主的母駝，可以做你們的蹟象，所以你們應當讓它在真主的大地上吃草，不要傷害它，否則，臨近的懲罰將襲擊你們。」

فَعَقَرُوهَا فَقَالَ تَمَتَّعُوا فِي دَارِكُمْ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ ذَٰلِكَ وَعْدٌ غَيْرُ مَكْذُوبٍ

65a fa-ʿaqarū-hā
65b fa-qāla
65c tamattaʿū fī dāri-kum ṯalāṯata ʾayyāmin
65d ḏālika waʿdun ġayru makḏūbin

But they hamstrung her, and then he said: Enjoy life in your dwelling-place three days! This is a threat that will not be belied. 65

但是他們宰了牠，他就說：「你們在家裡享受三日吧！這不是騙人的應許。

فَلَمَّا جَاءَ أَمْرُنَا نَجَّيْنَا صَالِحًا وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مَعَهُ بِرَحْمَةٍ مِّنَّا وَمِنْ خِزْيِ يَوْمِئِذٍ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ الْقَوِيُّ الْعَزِيزُ

66a fa-lammā ǧāʾa ʾamru-nā
66b naǧǧaynā ṣāliḥan wa-llaḏīna ʾāmanū maʿa-hū bi-raḥmatin min-nā
wa-min ḫizyi yawmiʾiḏin
66c ʾinna rabba-ka huwa l-qawīyu l-ʿazīzu

So, when Our commandment came to pass, We saved Salih, and those who believed with him, by a mercy from Us, from the ignominy of that day. Lo, thy Lord! He is the Strong, the Mighty. 66

當我的命令降臨的時候，我因為從我發出的慈恩而使撒立哈和同他一起信道的人脫離當日的恥辱，你的主確是至強的，確是有權的。

وَأَخَذَ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا الصَّيْحَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا فِي دِيَارِهِمْ جَاثِمِينَ

67a wa-ʾaḫaḏa llaḏīna ẓalamū ṣ-ṣayḥatu
67b fa-ʾaṣbaḥū fī diyāri-him ǧāṯimīna

And the (awful) Cry overtook those who did wrong, so that morning found them prostrate in their dwellings, 67

吶喊襲擊了不義的人們，頃刻之間，他們都僵仆在自己的家裡，

كَأَن لَّمْ يَغْنَوْا فِيهَا أَلَا إِنَّ ثَمُودَ كَفَرُوا رَبَّهُمْ أَلَا بُعْدًا لِّثَمُودَ

68a ka-ʾan lam yaġnaw fī-hā
68b ʾa-lā ʾinna ṯamūda kafarū rabba-hum
68c ʾa-lā buʿdan li-ṯamūda

As though they had not dwelt there. Lo! Thamud disbelieved in their Lord. A far removal for Thamud! 68

彷彿他們沒有在裡面住過一樣。真的，賽莫德人確已否認他們的主。真的，願賽莫德人遭受毀滅。

وَلَقَدْ جَاءَتْ رُسُلُنَا إِبْرَاهِيمَ بِالْبُشْرَىٰ قَالُوا سَلَامًا قَالَ سَلَامٌ فَمَا لَبِثَ أَن جَاءَ بِعِجْلٍ حَنِيذٍ

69a wa-la-qad ǧāʾat rusulu-nā ʾibrāhīma bi-l-bušrā

69c qāla
salāmun
69d fa-mā labiṯa ʾan ǧāʾa bi-ʿiǧlin ḥanīḏin

And Our messengers came unto Abraham with good news. They said: Peace! He answered: Peace! and delayed not to bring a roasted calf. 69

我的眾使者確已帶著喜訊降臨易卜拉欣，他們說：「祝你平安！」他說：「祝你們平安。」他很快就拿來一隻烤犢來。

فَلَمَّا رَأَىٰ أَيْدِيَهُمْ لَا تَصِلُ إِلَيْهِ نَكِرَهُمْ وَأَوْجَسَ مِنْهُمْ خِيفَةً قَالُوا لَا تَخَفْ إِنَّا أُرْسِلْنَا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِ لُوطٍ

70a fa-lammā raʾā ʾaydiya-hum
70b lā taṣilu ʾilay-hi
70c nakira-hum
70d wa-ʾawǧasa min-hum ḫīfatan
70e qālū
70f lā taḫaf
70g ʾin-nā ʾursilnā ʾilā qawmi lūṭin

And when he saw their hands reached not to it, he mistrusted them and conceived a fear of them. They said: Fear not! Lo! we are sent unto the folk of Lot. 70

當他看見他們不伸手去取犢肉的時候，他認為他們是奇怪的，他對他們覺得有點害怕。他們說：「你不要害怕，我們確是被派到魯特的宗族去的。」

وَامْرَأَتُهُ قَائِمَةٌ فَضَحِكَتْ فَبَشَّرْنَاهَا بِإِسْحَاقَ وَمِن وَرَاءِ إِسْحَاقَ يَعْقُوبَ

71a wa-mraʾatu-hū qāʾimatun
71b fa-ḍaḥikat
71c fa-baššarnā-hā bi-ʾisḥāqa wa-min warāʾi ʾisḥāqa yaʿqūba

And his wife, standing by laughed when We gave her good tidings (of the birth) of Isaac, and, after Isaac, of Jacob. 71

他的妻子站在一旁笑了。我就以易司哈格和在易司哈格之後的葉爾弧白向她報喜。

قَالَتْ يَا وَيْلَتَىٰ أَأَلِدُ وَأَنَا عَجُوزٌ وَهَٰذَا بَعْلِي شَيْخًا إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَشَيْءٌ عَجِيبٌ

72a qālat
72b J yā-waylatā
72c ʾa-ʾalidu
72d wa-ʾanā ʿaǧūzun
72e wa-hāḏā baʿl-ī šayḫan
72f ʾinna hāḏā la-šayʾun ʿaǧībun

She said: Oh woe is me! Shall I bear a child when I am an old woman, and this my husband is an old man? Lo! this is a strange thing! 72

她說：「咄咄怪事，我這個老太婆還會生孩子嗎？這是我龍鐘的丈夫。這確是一件奇事！」

قَالُوا أَتَعْجَبِينَ مِنْ أَمْرِ اللَّهِ رَحْمَتُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ عَلَيْكُمْ أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ إِنَّهُ حَمِيدٌ مَّجِيدٌ

73a qālū
73b ʾa-taʿǧabīna min ʾamri llāhi
73c raḥmatu llāhi wa-barakātu-hū ʿalay-kum
ʾahla l-bayti
73d ʾinna-hū ḥamīdun maǧīdun

They said: Wonderest thou at the commandment of Allah? The mercy of Allah and His blessings be upon you, O people of the house! Lo! He is Owner of Praise, Owner of Glory! 73

他們說：「難道你對真主的命令感到驚訝嗎？願真主的憐憫和幸福降臨你們全家，他確是可讚的，確是光榮的。」

فَلَمَّا ذَهَبَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الرَّوْعُ وَجَاءَتْهُ الْبُشْرَىٰ يُجَادِلُنَا فِي قَوْمِ لُوطٍ

74a fa-lammā ḏahaba ʿan ʾibrāhīma r-rawʿu
74b wa-ǧāʾat-hu l-bušrā
74c yuǧādilu-nā fī qawmi lūṭin

And when the awe departed from Abraham, and the glad news reached him, he pleaded with Us on behalf of the folk of Lot. 74

當畏懼離開易卜拉欣，而喜訊降臨他的時候，他為魯特的宗族而與我的眾使者爭論。

إِنَّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ لَحَلِيمٌ أَوَّاهٌ مُّنِيبٌ

75 ʾinna ʾibrāhīma la-ḥalīmun ʾawwāhun munībun

Lo! Abraham was mild, imploring, penitent. 75

易卜拉欣確是寬仁的，確是慈悲的，確是悔悟的。

يَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ أَعْرِضْ عَنْ هَٰذَا إِنَّهُ قَدْ جَاءَ أَمْرُ رَبِّكَ وَإِنَّهُمْ آتِيهِمْ عَذَابٌ غَيْرُ مَرْدُودٍ

76a V yā-ʾibrāhīmu
76a ʾaʿriḍ ʿan hāḏā
76b ʾinna-hū qad ǧāʾa ʾamru rabbi-ka
76c P wa-ʾinna-hum
76c ʾātī-him ʿaḏābun ġayru mardūdin

(It was said) O Abraham! Forsake this! Lo! thy Lord’s commandment hath gone forth, and lo! there cometh unto them a doom which cannot be repelled. 76

「易卜拉欣啊！你避開這爭論吧！你的主的命令確已來臨了，不可抵御的懲罰必定降臨他們。」

وَلَمَّا جَاءَتْ رُسُلُنَا لُوطًا سِيءَ بِهِمْ وَضَاقَ بِهِمْ ذَرْعًا وَقَالَ هَٰذَا يَوْمٌ عَصِيبٌ

77a wa-lammā ǧāʾat rusulu-nā lūṭan
77b sīʾa bi-him
77c wa-ḍāqa bi-him ḏarʿan
77d wa-qāla
77e hāḏā yawmun ʿaṣībun

And when Our messengers came unto Lot, he was distressed and knew not how to protect them. He said: This is a distressful day. 77

當我的眾使者來到魯特家的時候，他為使者們陷入難境，他無力保護他們，他說：「這是一個艱難的日子。」

وَجَاءَهُ قَوْمُهُ يُهْرَعُونَ إِلَيْهِ وَمِن قَبْلُ كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ السَّيِّئَاتِ قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ هَٰؤُلَاءِ بَنَاتِي هُنَّ أَطْهَرُ لَكُمْ فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَلَا تُخْزُونِ فِي ضَيْفِي أَلَيْسَ مِنكُمْ رَجُلٌ رَّشِيدٌ

78a wa-ǧāʾa-hū qawmu-hū
78b yuhraʿūna ʾilay-hi
78c wa-min qablu kānū yaʿmalūna s-sayyiʾāti
78d qāla
78e V yā-qawm-i
78f hāʾulāʾi banāt-ī
78g hunna ʾaṭharu la-kum
78h fa-ttaqū llāha
78i wa-lā tuḫzū-ni fī ḍayf-ī
78j ʾa-laysa min-kum raǧulun rašīdun

And his people came unto him, running towards him - and before then they used to commit abominations - He said: O my people! Here are my daughters! They are purer for you. Beware of Allah, and degrade me not in (the person of) my guests. Is there not among you any upright man? 78

他的宗族倉猝地到他的家裡來，他們向來是作惡的。他說：「我的宗族啊！這些是我的女兒，她們對於你們是更純潔的。你們應當敬畏真主，你們對於我的客人們不要使我丟臉。難道你們當中沒有一個精神健全的人嗎？」

قَالُوا لَقَدْ عَلِمْتَ مَا لَنَا فِي بَنَاتِكَ مِنْ حَقٍّ وَإِنَّكَ لَتَعْلَمُ مَا نُرِيدُ

79a qālū
79b la-qad ʿalimta mā la-nā fī banāti-ka min ḥaqqin
79c wa-ʾinna-ka la-taʿlamu mā nurīdu

They said: Well thou knowest that we have no right to thy daughters, and well thou knowest what we want. 79

他們說：「你確已知道我們對於你的女兒們沒有任何權利。你確實知道我們的欲望。」

قَالَ لَوْ أَنَّ لِي بِكُمْ قُوَّةً أَوْ آوِي إِلَىٰ رُكْنٍ شَدِيدٍ

80a qāla
80b law ʾanna l-ī bi-kum qūwatan
80c ʾaw ʾāwī ʾilā ruknin šadīdin

He said: Would that I had strength to resist you or had some strong support (among you)! 80

他說：「但願我有能力抵抗你們，或退避到一個堅強的支柱。」

قَالُوا يَا لُوطُ إِنَّا رُسُلُ رَبِّكَ لَن يَصِلُوا إِلَيْكَ فَأَسْرِ بِأَهْلِكَ بِقِطْعٍ مِّنَ اللَّيْلِ وَلَا يَلْتَفِتْ مِنكُمْ أَحَدٌ إِلَّا امْرَأَتَكَ إِنَّهُ مُصِيبُهَا مَا أَصَابَهُمْ إِنَّ مَوْعِدَهُمُ الصُّبْحُ أَلَيْسَ الصُّبْحُ بِقَرِيبٍ

81a qālū
81b V yā-lūṭu
81c ʾin-nā rusulu rabbi-ka
81d lan yaṣilū ʾilay-ka
81e fa-ʾasri bi-ʾahli-ka bi-qiṭʿin mina l-layli
81f wa-lā yaltafit min-kum ʾaḥadun ʾil-lā mraʾata-ka
81g ʾinna-hū muṣību-hā mā ʾaṣāba-hum
81h ʾinna mawʿida-humu ṣ-ṣubḥu
81i ʾa-laysa ṣ-ṣubḥu bi-qarībin

(The messengers) said: O Lot! Lo! we are messengers of thy Lord; they shall not reach thee. So travel with thy people in a part of the night, and let not one of you turn round - (all) save thy wife. Lo! that which smiteth them will smite her (also). Lo! their tryst is (for) the morning. Is not the morning nigh? 81

他們說：「魯特啊！我們確是你的主的使者，他們絕不能傷及你。你應當帶著你的家屬在五更出行——你們中的任何人都不要回頭看——但你的妻子除外，她將與他們同遭毀滅。他們約定的時間是早晨，難道早晨不是臨近的嗎？」

فَلَمَّا جَاءَ أَمْرُنَا جَعَلْنَا عَالِيَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهَا حِجَارَةً مِّن سِجِّيلٍ مَّنضُودٍ

82a fa-lammā ǧāʾa ʾamru-nā
82b ǧaʿalnā ʿāliya-hā sāfila-hā
82c wa-ʾamṭarnā ʿalay-hā ḥiǧāratan min siǧǧīlin manḍūdin

So when Our commandment came to pass We overthrew (that township) and rained upon it stones of clay, one after another, 82

當我的命令降臨的時候，我使那個市鎮天翻地覆，我使預定的連續的陶石像雨點般地降落在他們身上。

مُّسَوَّمَةً عِندَ رَبِّكَ وَمَا هِيَ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ بِبَعِيدٍ

83a musawwamatan ʿinda rabbi-ka
83b wa-mā hiya mina ẓ-ẓālimīna bi-baʿīdin

Marked with fire in the providence of thy Lord (for the destruction of the wicked). And they are never far from the wrong-doers. 83

那些陶石是在你的主那裡打上標記的，它並非遠離不義者的。

وَإِلَىٰ مَدْيَنَ أَخَاهُمْ شُعَيْبًا قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُ وَلَا تَنقُصُوا الْمِكْيَالَ وَالْمِيزَانَ إِنِّي أَرَاكُم بِخَيْرٍ وَإِنِّي أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ مُّحِيطٍ

84a wa-ʾilā madyana ʾaḫā-hum šuʿayban
84b qāla
84c V yā-qawm-i
84d ʿbudū llāha
84e mā la-kum min ʾilāhin ġayru-hū
84f wa-lā tanquṣū l-mikyāla wa-l-mīzāna
84g ʾin-nī ʾarā-kum bi-ḫayrin
84h wa-ʾin-nī ʾaḫāfu ʿalay-kum ʿaḏāba yawmin muḥīṭin

And unto Midian (We sent) their brother Shu’eyb. He said: O my people! Serve Allah. Ye have no other Allah save Him! And give not short measure and short weight. Lo! I see you well-to-do, and lo! I fear for you the doom of a besetting Day. 84

我確已派遣麥德彥人的弟兄舒阿卜去教化他們，他說：「我的宗族啊！你們應當崇拜真主，除他外，絕無應受你們崇拜的。你們不要用小斗和小秤，我的確認為你們是昌盛的，我的確怕你們遭受圍困日的懲罰。

وَيَا قَوْمِ أَوْفُوا الْمِكْيَالَ وَالْمِيزَانَ بِالْقِسْطِ وَلَا تَبْخَسُوا النَّاسَ أَشْيَاءَهُمْ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا فِي الْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ

85a V wa-yā-qawm-i
85a ʾawfū l-mikyāla wa-l-mīzāna bi-l-qisṭi
85b wa-lā tabḫasū n-nāsa ʾašyāʾa-hum
85c wa-lā taʿṯaw fī l-ʾarḍi
mufsidīna

O my people! Give full measure and full weight in justice, and wrong not people in respect of their goods. And do not evil in the earth, causing corruption. 85

我的宗族啊！你們應當使用充足的斗和公平的秤，你們不要克扣他人應得的財物，不要在地方上為非作歹。

بَقِيَّتُ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ وَمَا أَنَا عَلَيْكُم بِحَفِيظٍ

86a baqīyatu llāhi ḫayrun la-kum
86b ʾin kuntum muʾminīna
86c wa-mā ʾanā ʿalay-kum bi-ḥafīẓin

That which Allah leaveth with you is better for you if ye are believers; and I am not a keeper over you. 86

殘存在真主那裡的給養，對於你們是更好的，如果你們是信士。我絕不是你們的監護者。」

قَالُوا يَا شُعَيْبُ أَصَلَاتُكَ تَأْمُرُكَ أَن نَّتْرُكَ مَا يَعْبُدُ آبَاؤُنَا أَوْ أَن نَّفْعَلَ فِي أَمْوَالِنَا مَا نَشَاءُ إِنَّكَ لَأَنتَ الْحَلِيمُ الرَّشِيدُ

87a qālū
87b V yā-šuʿaybu
87b ʾa-ṣalātu-ka taʾmuru-ka
87c ʾan natruka mā yaʿbudu ʾābāʾu-nā
87d ʾaw ʾan nafʿala fī ʾamwāli-nā mā našāʾu
87e ʾinna-ka la-ʾanta l-ḥalīmu r-rašīdu

They said: O Shu’eyb! Doth thy way of prayer command thee that we should forsake that which our fathers (used to) worship, or that we (should leave off) doing what we will with our own property. Lo! thou art the mild, the guide to right behaviour. 87

他們說：「舒阿卜啊！難道你的祈禱命令你讓我們放棄我們祖先所崇拜的（偶像）並命令你教我們不要自由地支配我們的財產嗎？你確是寬仁的，確是精神健全的！」

قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِن كُنتُ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّي وَرَزَقَنِي مِنْهُ رِزْقًا حَسَنًا وَمَا أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُخَالِفَكُمْ إِلَىٰ مَا أَنْهَاكُمْ عَنْهُ إِنْ أُرِيدُ إِلَّا الْإِصْلَاحَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ وَمَا تَوْفِيقِي إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَإِلَيْهِ أُنِيبُ

88a qāla
88b V yā-qawm-i
88b ʾa-raʾaytum
88c ʾin kuntu ʿalā bayyinatin min rabb-ī
88d wa-razaqa-nī min-hu rizqan ḥasanan
88e wa-mā ʾurīdu
88f ʾan ʾuḫālifa-kum ʾilā mā ʾanhā-kum ʿan-hu
88g ʾin ʾurīdu ʾil-lā l-ʾiṣlāḥa
88h mā staṭaʿtu
88i wa-mā tawfīq-ī ʾil-lā bi-llāhi
88j ʿalay-hi tawakkaltu
88k wa-ʾilay-hi ʾunību

He said: O my people! Bethink you: if I am (acting) on a clear proof from my Lord and He sustaineth me with fair sustenance from Him (how can I concede aught to you)? I desire not to do behind your backs that which I ask you not to do. I desire naught save reform so far as I am able. My welfare is only in Allah. In Him I trust and unto Him I turn (repentant). 88

他說：「我的宗族啊！你們告訴我吧，如果我是依據從我的主降示的明証的，而他曾將他的佳美的給養賞賜了我，（難道我肯違背他的命令嗎？）我不願和你們背道而馳，我禁止你們犯罪，我就不犯罪，我只願盡我所能從事改革，我的成功全憑真主的援助，我只信賴他，我只歸依他。

وَيَا قَوْمِ لَا يَجْرِمَنَّكُمْ شِقَاقِي أَن يُصِيبَكُم مِّثْلُ مَا أَصَابَ قَوْمَ نُوحٍ أَوْ قَوْمَ هُودٍ أَوْ قَوْمَ صَالِحٍ وَمَا قَوْمُ لُوطٍ مِّنكُم بِبَعِيدٍ

89a V wa-yā-qawm-i
89a lā yaǧrimanna-kum šiqāq-ī
89b ʾan yuṣība-kum miṯlu mā ʾaṣāba qawma nūḥin ʾaw qawma hūdin
ʾaw qawma ṣāliḥin
89c wa-mā qawmu lūṭin min-kum bi-baʿīdin

And, O my people! Let not the schism with me cause you to sin so that there befall you that which befell the folk of Noah and the folk of Hud, and the folk of Salih; and the folk of Lot are not far off from you. 89

我的宗族啊！你們絕不要因為反對我而使你們遭受努哈的宗族，或呼德的宗族，或撒立哈的宗族所遭受的懲罰。魯特的宗族（滅亡的時代）離你們是不遠的。

وَاسْتَغْفِرُوا رَبَّكُمْ ثُمَّ تُوبُوا إِلَيْهِ إِنَّ رَبِّي رَحِيمٌ وَدُودٌ

90a wa-staġfirū rabba-kum
90b ṯumma tūbū ʾilay-hi
90c ʾinna rabb-ī raḥīmun wadūdun

Ask pardon of your Lord and then turn unto Him (repentant). Lo! my Lord is Merciful, Loving. 90

你們應當向你們的主求饒，然後，向他悔過，我的主確是至慈的，確是至愛的。」

قَالُوا يَا شُعَيْبُ مَا نَفْقَهُ كَثِيرًا مِّمَّا تَقُولُ وَإِنَّا لَنَرَاكَ فِينَا ضَعِيفًا وَلَوْلَا رَهْطُكَ لَرَجَمْنَاكَ وَمَا أَنتَ عَلَيْنَا بِعَزِيزٍ

91a qālū
91b V yā-šuʿaybu
91b mā nafqahu kaṯīran mim-mā taqūlu
91c wa-ʾin-nā la-narā-ka fī-nā ḍaʿīfan
91d wa-law-lā rahṭu-ka
91e la-raǧamnā-ka
91f wa-mā ʾanta ʿalay-nā bi-ʿazīzin

They said: O Shu’eyb! We understand not much of that thou tellest, and lo! we do behold thee weak among us. But for thy family, we should have stoned thee, for thou art not strong against us. 91

他們說：「舒阿卜啊！你所說的話有很多是我們所不理解的。我們的確認為你是我們中的一個弱者，假若不為你的家族，我們誓必辱罵你，你對於我們並非尊貴的。」

قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ أَرَهْطِي أَعَزُّ عَلَيْكُم مِّنَ اللَّهِ وَاتَّخَذْتُمُوهُ وَرَاءَكُمْ ظِهْرِيًّا إِنَّ رَبِّي بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ مُحِيطٌ

92a qāla
92b V yā-qawm-i
92b ʾa-rahṭ-ī ʾaʿazzu ʿalay-kum mina llāhi
92c wa-ttaḫaḏtumū-hu warāʾa-kum ẓihrīyan
92d ʾinna rabb-ī bi-mā taʿmalūna muḥīṭun

He said: O my people! Is my family more to be honoured by you than Allah? and ye put Him behind you, neglected! Lo! my Lord surroundeth what ye do. 92

他說：「我的宗族啊！難道我的家族對於你們比真主還尊貴嗎？你們把真主當作你們背後的棄物，我的主確是徹知你們的行為的。

وَيَا قَوْمِ اعْمَلُوا عَلَىٰ مَكَانَتِكُمْ إِنِّي عَامِلٌ سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ مَن يَأْتِيهِ عَذَابٌ يُخْزِيهِ وَمَنْ هُوَ كَاذِبٌ وَارْتَقِبُوا إِنِّي مَعَكُمْ رَقِيبٌ

93a V wa-yā-qawm-i
93a ʿmalū ʿalā makānati-kum
93b ʾin-nī ʿāmilun
93c sawfa taʿlamūna man yaʾtī-hi ʿaḏābun
93c R yuḫzī-hi
93c wa-man huwa kāḏibun
93d wa-rtaqibū
93e ʾin-nī maʿa-kum raqībun

And, O my people! Act according to your power, lo! I (too) am acting. Ye will soon know on whom there cometh a doom that will abase him, and who it is that lieth. And watch! Lo! I am a watcher with you. 93

我的宗族啊，你們按自己的能力而工作吧，我確是工作的！你們將知道凌辱的懲罰降臨誰，而且知道誰是說謊的人。你們期待著吧！我將同你們一起期待的。」

وَلَمَّا جَاءَ أَمْرُنَا نَجَّيْنَا شُعَيْبًا وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مَعَهُ بِرَحْمَةٍ مِّنَّا وَأَخَذَتِ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا الصَّيْحَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا فِي دِيَارِهِمْ جَاثِمِينَ

94a wa-lammā ǧāʾa ʾamru-nā
94b naǧǧaynā šuʿayban wa-llaḏīna ʾāmanū maʿa-hū bi-raḥmatin min-nā
94c wa-ʾaḫaḏati llaḏīna ẓalamū ṣ-ṣayḥatu
94d fa-ʾaṣbaḥū fī diyāri-him ǧāṯimīna

And when Our commandment came to pass We saved Shu’eyb and those who believed with him by a mercy from Us; and the (Awful) Cry seized those who did injustice, and morning found them prostrate in their dwellings, 94

當我的命令降臨的時候，我因從我發出的慈恩而拯救了舒阿卜和同他在一起信道的人。吶喊聲襲擊了不義的人們，頃刻之間，他們都伏仆在自己的家裡。

كَأَن لَّمْ يَغْنَوْا فِيهَا أَلَا بُعْدًا لِّمَدْيَنَ كَمَا بَعِدَتْ ثَمُودُ

95a ka-ʾan lam yaġnaw fī-hā
95b ʾa-lā buʿdan li-madyana
95c ka-mā baʿidat ṯamūdu

As though they had not dwelt there. A far removal for Midian, even as Thamud had been removed afar! 95

彷彿他們沒有在裡面住過一樣。真的，願麥德彥人遭受毀滅，猶如賽莫德人遭受毀滅一樣！

وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مُوسَىٰ بِآيَاتِنَا وَسُلْطَانٍ مُّبِينٍ

96a wa-la-qad ʾarsalnā mūsā bi-ʾāyāti-nā wa-sulṭānin mubīnin

And verily We sent Moses with Our revelations and a clear warrant 96

我確已派遣穆薩帶著我的許多蹟象和明証去

إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَئِهِ فَاتَّبَعُوا أَمْرَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَا أَمْرُ فِرْعَوْنَ بِرَشِيدٍ

97a ʾilā firʿawna wa-malaʾi-hī
97b fa-ttabaʿū ʾamra firʿawna
97c wa-mā ʾamru firʿawna bi-rašīdin

Unto Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they did follow the command of Pharaoh, and the command of Pharaoh was no right guide. 97

教化法老及其貴族，但他們順從法老的命令，而法老的命令不是正確的。

يَقْدُمُ قَوْمَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَأَوْرَدَهُمُ النَّارَ وَبِئْسَ الْوِرْدُ الْمَوْرُودُ

98a yaqdumu qawma-hū yawma l-qiyāmati
98b fa-ʾawrada-humu n-nāra
98c J wa-biʾsa l-wirdu l-mawrūdu

He will go before his people on the Day of Resurrection and will lead them to the Fire for watering-place. Ah, hapless is the watering-place (whither they are) led. 98

在復活日，法老將引導他的百姓，而將他們引入火獄，他們所進入的那個地方真惡劣。

وَأُتْبِعُوا فِي هَٰذِهِ لَعْنَةً وَيَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ بِئْسَ الرِّفْدُ الْمَرْفُودُ

99a wa-ʾutbiʿū fī hāḏihī laʿnatan wa-yawma l-qiyāmati
99b J biʾsa r-rifdu l-marfūdu

A curse is made to follow them in the world and on the Day of Resurrection. Hapless is the gift (that will be) given (them). 99

他們在今世受詛咒，在復活日也遭受詛咒。他們所受的援助真惡劣！

ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ أَنبَاءِ الْقُرَىٰ نَقُصُّهُ عَلَيْكَ مِنْهَا قَائِمٌ وَحَصِيدٌ

100a ḏālika min ʾanbāʾi l-qurā
100b naquṣṣu-hū ʿalay-ka
100c min-hā qāʾimun wa-ḥaṣīdun

That is (something) of the tidings of the townships (which were destroyed of old). We relate it unto thee (Muhammad). Some of them are standing and some (already) reaped. 100

這是已遭毀滅的那些市鎮的消息，我把它告訴你。那些市鎮有廢墟猶在的，有蕩然無存的。
