▪ Arab lexicographers relate ʔabada_1 and ↗ʔabada_2 to each other via the participle ʔābid(aẗ) saying that ‘wild animals live long, unless killed by accident’ – Lane i 1863. For the overall picture cf. ↗ʔBD.
