▪ Kogan2011: The main Ar designation of the colour ‘green’ in Ar, ʔaḫḍarᵘ, is perh. related to Hbr ḥāṣīr ‘grass; leek’. However, the original Sem word for ‘(yellow-) green’ was protSem *wrḳ ‘yellow-green’ (preserved in Ar ʔawraqᵘ ‘ash-coloured’ and waraq ‘leaf’, see ↗WRQ).
