The form is obviously a feminine form of the colour adj. ↗ʔakḥalᵘ, the plant being called after its (blue) colour. – Cf. also kaḥaylāʔᵘ ‘Ochsenzunge’ and kaḥl pl. ʔakāḥilᵘ ‘ein Grüngewürz’ (Wahrmund).
